Awesome and simple device, well worth it for the reliability
So this is a really simple way to get isolated balanced outputs from a computer. I bought this due to excessive noise on the analog outputs from my PC and from a separate asus xonar soundcard. This has eliminated the slight noise I was getting out of those ports. This is a super simple device, so it should be rock solid reliable. I took it apart as soon as I got it to see how it's setup. It's using a TI PCM2705 USB Audio chip, which is pretty simple but very reliable. It then uses a couple transformers to presumably isolate the output (maybe provide inverted signal for balanced output? I'm not a super electrical guy...) I have read some people complaining that the transformers color the sound (attenuate higher frequencies or something?), but I haven't noticed anything like that. I am using this in live sound applications only, so room acoustics usually present much larger "coloring" issues that I have to deal with. The only thing I have noticed is the level output from this is pretty low, so I do have to bump up gain going into the mixer, but it's not really an issue. So to summarize, this thing uses a reliable bus powered usb audio chip, so you don't need any special drivers or power supplies, and it outputs balanced XLR connections that are nicely noise free.

Perfect Device for a dedicated use
This device does exactly what it is intended to do: no more, no less. But it does it extremely well. I stumbled across this when trying to find a way to eliminate 60 cycle hum when routing laptop audio into my church PA system. A direct-box works well enough, with the ground-lift switch, but I absolutely hated using the headphone jack on my laptop. The 1/8 connectors always seemed to be an inferior connection. When bumped the audio would pop, or cut in and out. This Audio Interface is much superior. It was designed for the exact use case for which I needed it. It eliminates the 60 cycle hum very efficiently. The USB connection has more than enough through-put to carry high-quality audio, and even better, is a very solid and secure connection. No more popping and clipping! The device converts the audio to a balanced analog signal with stereo XLR outputs. The only option on the device is to run mono or stereo. The interface is very solidly built, feels like it could take a lot of abuse. Also, I had no problem with drivers, they automatically install when you plug it in. If I am remembering right, it even worked on my Linux system with no issues! If you want a good and secure way to send audio from you laptop to a PA or mixer, I would highly recommend the Peavey USB Audio Interface.

Hum free pristine audio from this rugged little box!
This is a great tool for anyone looking to hook up their laptop or pc to a sound system. It is especially useful in PA applications and church venues; I bought two of these for one of our church campuses that uses one Macbook laptop for Pro Presenter worship slides and videos, and for another laptop for the stream from our main campus. I recommend purchasing, as I did, rf choked USB cables: we have had problems with radio frequency pick up in our audio lines and the ferrite cobalt magnets reject rf. The transformed circuits in the USB-P insures no ground loops ie NO HUM! I tested the units on my multimedia pc and found the USB-P to have a pristine, noise free output to my jbl powered studio monitors. Please note that this device does not contain ASIO drivers so it does not apply well to multitrack software applications; you will find that the sound crackles a bit. But for an application where you want to get clean stereo or mono sound from your computer to your sound system, the USB-P Shines. I would recommend it to others and will probably be purchasing more in the future.

Rugged simple design, does its job well. Slight humming if too close to other equipment.
I connected this box using balanced xlr and noticed a bit of humming. Upon going to test the cables I picked up the box and the noise stopped. It was receiving interference from the rest of my gear. Moving the cables had no effect, it was only proximity of the Peavey to the rest of my gear. At only a foot away the noise stopped. I can live with that compromise. Sound quality is great, no noticeable quality difference between this and my Scarlett 2i2.

Great Output Interface
As a musician, this USB interface has been a game-changer. The audio quality is great, providing a crystal-clear output signal from my computer. The plug-and-play simplicity makes setup a breeze. I appreciate the sturdy construction, and the interface's low-latency performance ensures a seamless playback experience. I use this I. A live environment to playback multitracks to FOH and in-ears. It's become an essential part of my setup, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Highly recommended for fellow musicians!

Whine in your audio? Interference? Look no more this baby is the most amazing thing in pc audio!
I spent countless frustrating hours trying cables lifters ground plugs isolated transformers resistors amplifiers trying to get the squeal or computer hum out of my speakers. Then this gem and I do mean gem came up so I figured why not try it. THANK GOD I DID! Solved all of my audio issues Chrystal clear audio no hum even at max volume. It is rare that I find a quality built item but this baby is built well works perfectly. I am impressed and will be recommending it to any pc streamer or gamer I know! Does not come with Usb A-B cable. Also in my configuration I went with XLR->TRS balanced cables. Thank you for making a quality product! Going to buy my second one right now!

If you run a professional sound system and need to play audio from a laptop, then you'll know that on-board soundcards are usually poor quality and typically have high levels of background noise. In addition, laptops can introduce noise and mains hum into the system through the use of cheap, switched-mode power supplies etc. This unit contains a high quality USB soundcard (for playback only), with ground-lifted, transformer isolated, balanced outputs, which solve both of these issues. You could spend a lot more on a top-end Radial Engineering USB-Pro, or you spend a fraction of that amount on this unit. Its well built, sounds great, and requires no drivers when plugged into a PC. I tried it with Windows 7 64-bit, and Windows 8 64-bit, and it worked straight away. Absolutely brilliant.

We use this with Propresenter for sound output instead of the headphone jack - no more noise gate required! Works great on Mac.
