Amazon Basics D-Shaped Small Trash Can with Lid and Soft-Close Foot Pedal for Bathroom, Bedroom, Living Room, Office, Smudge Resistant, 10 l / 2.6 gallon, Silver

I bought two of these trash cans - 10.5 gallon wide for the kitchen and 2.5 gallon narrow for the bathroom. I'm very happy with the look and feel of them. They appear to be a great value, esp. if you get them on sale - the price around Prime days fluctuates often. The larger can was $85 on the first Prime Day 7/11, yet I had purchased it for $42 on 7/8. Same for the smaller can - $46 on 7/12, I paid $23 on 7/8. They came very well packaged with thick styrofoam on top and bottom of the box and under the can lid where it meets the body of the can. It arrived USPS, and a big 'thump' I heard at delivery made me cringe, but there was no damage to the box or contents. Beyond price, tho, I needed a new trash can that didn't cause problems during warmer weather with gnats/flies. Most trash cans don't completely seal, but rather have an air gap of some sort around the lid that allows the smells to escape enough to attract these pests. This one closes over and around the inner bin, so fingers crossed, it's eliminated that problem. **Update** There is definitely significantly less smell than my previous swing lid can. But really strong smell (onions!) is still noticable, much less, and can eventually attract gnats. Because it's a step-open can, I shouldn't be cleaning off the lid from food hitting it as it goes in, like my previous can. Hopefully I'll only be dusting it occasionally! (For the larger can, it's not a pedal, but a hefty u-shaped bar.) The slow close shouldn't create a 'woosh' of smelly air wafting up, like my previous swinging lid can. **Update** Changing from swing lid to step-open lid, I thot I wouldn't like the inconvenience of step opening vs just tossing into a swing lid. But I put a strong magnet under the lid edge, and a peg-type strong magnet opposite it on the outside, so one finger can lift the lid and with the same hand toss something in. And unlike a swing lid, I can step and hold open the entire lid to scrap off a plate or pan. And NO food or fingerprints on the lid - it stays clean. With the addition of a magnet "handle", the step-open can is better. And this after decades of swing lid cans. I also no longer need a full size can taking up space, esp. since it takes us a week or more to fill it. I didn't want to lean down to a too short can, or worry about missing it because the opening was too small. The 10.5 gallon can is tall enough and the opening is large enough that it looks and feels like a full size can. It's taken some time to find the right can for what I needed - the 10.5 gallon definitely checks all the boxes. There were less improvements needed for the bathroom can, but the 2.5 gallon also checks all those boxes. Very happy with the cans. I'll update this review if there's more to share.

Very sturdy. Holds medium amount of trash, easy to use and clean looks nice

This is a nice simple trash can that is perfect for a kitchen in a small household. Not too small and not too big. Pros: 1. It comes fully assembled. If you've ever bought a trash can with difficult assembly, you'll know why this is #1. 2. It's the perfect size. Great for 1-2 people to throw out trash every ~2 days. It's big for a single person who wants to take out trash daily, but it's nice to have the extra room on those days when you're throwing out more than usual and don't have to use a million small bags. 3. It closes securely to keep out bugs and smells. 4. Looks sleek and the rectangular shape keeps it out of the way. 5. It has a step to open it so you don't have to touch the lid when throwing things out. Cons: 1. You cannot wrap the bag fully around the basket. It gets in the way of the hinge that closes the lid. But it's okay; wrap the bag around the basket, but just tuck it in front of the latch part in the middle back area. I do this with 8 gallon bags which are very roomy and it's not a big deal. Sometimes you have to adjust it if it gets bunched up. 2. The lid does not go straight up. It's annoying when you take out the basket because you can't just lift it out, you have to struggle a little to get it out at an angle. Overall I'm very happy with this trash can especially for the price.

Purchased 2yrs ago. For the price, a simple, functional little trash can that's perfect for a small household. We use 4-6 gallon trash bags and it gets full roughly 2-3x a week with 2 adults, which is the perfect amount of time to take it out before it gets smelly but not wasting bag space. The pedal still works well and the insert is easy to clean if the bag gets drippy. Taking away 1 star because, as others reviews mentioned, the hole at the back/inside where the lid lift bar pokes thru is an unfortunate collector of crumbs and other debris and impossible to clean without a super small (straw-sized) vacuum nozzle attachment. Other than that, nice little can.

I Love this wastebasket! I had one that worked by waving my hand near the top, but after a year or so the magnets even stopped working when replaced. It was also very large so when I moved I looked for a smaller version and found this. It has just enough room for my one person garbage in the kitchen for about two days. It opened hands free by stepping on the pedal at the base and closes softly by itself after putting the garbage in. My only problem so far is finding the size bag (7.5 gallon) in a sturdy enough plastic. I have bought one on Amazon so far but it tears too easily when removing it. I will add one if I find one that is good to this review. Looks great with my stainless appliances and also fits nicely in several possible places in my kitchen so doesn't have to be hidden in a pantry! Easy to clean inside in the sink and exterior with a cloth. Great buy, expensive somewhat but well worth it for years of use every day!

De prullenbak is erg mooi in het echt en handig. Normale zakken passen goed, zijn ook vast te zetten. Deksel is heel makkelijk open te zetten. Ik ben heel tevreden met mijn aankoop.

Arrivata imballata in un cartone molto robusto e collocata al suo interno con tutte le protezioni di polistirolo che la proteggono bene da eventuali danni durante il trasporto. Si presenta esattamente come nelle foto illustrative; è in acciaio spazzolato ed il design è molto bello che si adatta ottimamente ad ogni ambiente. La forma è stretta e alta; il pedale che solleva il coperchio è ben fatto e con un meccanismo che appare molto solido e ben funzionale. Il coperchio può essere aperto con il pedale stesso oppure manualmente, in entrambi i casi la sua richiusura avviene in modo rallentato, soft, senza farlo sbattere e senza rumori. Al suo interno vi è il cestino in plastica, facile da estrarre per collocarvi il sacco, che sarà nascosto alla vista una volta rimontato e richiuso. Dopo alcuni mesi di utilizzo direi che è bello e ben fatto; meccanismo fluido che non si è mai inceppato. Una piccola nota per lo spessore della lamiera, che risulta un po' sottile e facile da "ammaccare" con eventuali urti. Riassumendo direi che il prodotto è ottimo, ben realizzato e di buona qualità, soddisfatto dell'acquisto, lo consiglio...
