BlackBerry Battery Charger Bundle for BlackBerry Z10 - Retail Packaging

Why didn't anyone think of this before? This is one of those things that, once you have one, you'll wonder why nobody thought of doing something like this before? It works as intended, and means that I don't worry at all about how much I use my smartphone, because I have lots of juice; juice to spare! It comes with just two pieces, but they're all you need. A spare battery for the BlackBerry Z10, and the charging bundle, which holds the battery. The charging bundle is a bit bigger than a credit card in dimensions, and a little thinner than a Z10 when it comes to depth. You can use it a number of ways. To charge your spare battery: Plug your standard wall or car charger into it, and it will charge your spare battery. I recommend using one of BlackBerry's Micro-USB chargers that were designed to work with the BlackBerry PlayBook, as they have a much higher power output than standard chargers, and will charge the battery much faster. Swap your nearly empty battery from the Z10 with the spare, and you're good to go. The Z10 boots up very quickly, too, so you don't have much downtime at all. To charge your Smartphone without an electric outlet, without interrupting use of your smartphone: Simply pull out the Micro-USB wire and plug it into your Smartphone, and it will start charging your smartphone from the spare battery in the charging bundle. The great thing about this is that this feature will work on any smartphone or device with a Micro-USB charging port! To charge your spare battery AND your Smartphone at the same time: Plug the charging bundle with spare battery into your smartphone, and then plug your charger into the charging bundle. Both the phone battery and the spare battery will be charged simultaneously. Again, I recommend using a high power output charger to speed up the process. As I said before, once you've used this, you'll wonder why in the world it took so long for someone to come up with it. Way to go, BlackBerry; this is a great idea and will be helpful to a LOT of smartphone owners.* It's innovative, compact, has a small button you can push on it to check the charge level of the battery in it, and it works as advertised. Great device! *For those of you who don't use a BlackBerry Z10 but are still thinking of buying this, consider the charging bundle for the BlackBerry Q10, as the battery included in the Q10 bundle has a higher power capacity than this Z10 battery. The Z10 battery is 1800 mAmps; the Q10 battery is 2100 mAmps. Can't really go wrong either way. Happy charging!

I like this unit because you can plug in your charger to it, then plug your phone to the battery cradle pack and by morning have two fully charged batteries. What I don't like is that the design is such that you have to lay your phone and this unit in an awkward position to get them to work. But, work they do, I can live with the design. I need an extra battery sometimes depending on my needs during the day!

After using this for several months, I don't know how I got by without a backup charger before. I initially thought I was getting carried away with my imaginary need for phone accessories and thought I'd forget I had it. But it's essential, and it's an excellent charger. I find that it's best to always keep a battery in the charger (I have two, the original phone battery and this one). I plug it in as soon as I swap the batteries--especially since I live in a power-outage-prone area. I don't know if it will charge my phone battery faster in the car than the car charger charges my phone, but it might. It charges faster than when I plug my phone in an outlet in our house, though. I especially appreciate this charger when I wake up in the morning and my phone is dead because I somehow pulled out the plug next to the bed where I (theoretically) charge my phone overnight. I can make coffee while my phone reboots after I put in the "fresh" battery. But I am essentially still asleep at those times, so it took me awhile to realize that there are corresponding symbols on the battery and the charger designed to help you figure out how to seat the battery into the charger, just like on the phone. My initial attempts to put the battery in the charger were frustrating, especially without my reading glasses--more than I want to admit (comprehensive intelligence test, possibly?)--but I have it down now.

I have used my charger and spare battery a number of times since I received them, and so far, no issues. I received everything sealed with a holographic sticker, and the battery is an authentic LS1 Z10 battery. It is so nice to have an extra battery for my Z10. This item was purchased because of an incident involving my car needing service and my phone battery was dead (as was the battery in my vehicle, so I could not charge it). I had to call a friend who let me borrow his phone to make the call to AAA. I now have an extra battery, so I will always have the use of my phone. Yay, me! This product performs as expected. For the price, it is a steal! I am very happy to have found this charger and battery bundle. I have had my current Z10 for 20 months, and the battery life has dramatically decreased, so it is wonderful to have a spare. Being able to charge my phone and spare battery at the same time is sweet! The charger itself is small and narrow and it slips easily into any pocket. It takes up very little real estate.

If the Z10 were a popular phone this would be a much more expensive item. I bought one when I carried a Z for a short time, but eventually gave it up for a Samsung. But I still carry this as an emergency power source, it will work with any micro-USB phone. Just charge it up, and plug it in when you are nearly out of power. It will bring my battery up to about 50% if it's fully charged. And you can even carry extra LS-1 batteries if you need more power (camping for example).

My Blackberry Z10 is a great phone and highly recommended. I am a heavy email users (about 180/day in 3 accounts) and use the web and other apps occasionally. I generally get through 24 hours on a charge. However, certain apps like GPS turn-by-turn can burn the battery quickly. For occasions when you need a spare, this tiny and well-designed spare battery charger is perfect. It comes with a battery and a little attached cable (see photo) that you can plug into your phone so you can charge both the spare and the phone at the same time. It does NOT come with the USB charging cable however. The device is ingeniously designed and solves a huge problem elegantly and cheaply.

This is wonderful. it's a very small device and very easy to carry. Also now that the 10.2.x.x. updates are out and sucking battery more quickly this is even more important. I don't tend to charge both my phone and the device at the same time so I can't comment on the issues other people reported. I have however plugged this into my phone as a (power pack) and it does start to charge a dead phone. NICE! Another charging comment. There are many charges on the market but not all have good battery charge controlling. Other charges that are only two wire, tend to simply dump power into the battery and unless that is done properly can cause battery damage. This one should not do that because it appears to use all four pins.

The battery pack is an excellent solution. Very small and lightweight. You can charge the BB battery from this charger, remove the battery and swap with the BB, and you can charge both batteries at the same time. The case includes a short micro-USB connector to plug into phone or charging (the non-USB end is permanently park of the battery case. Includes an LED indicator that shows its charge when plugged in. Great for those times when not near an AC plug or carrying the AC charger and cable.
