These boots are great.
This is the second or third pair of these I have bought over the last years, they are great. I personally don't wear them, but my husband does for 10 or so hours a day, every day. He works in a factory and is on his feet on the concrete most of the time. He has tried different brands and styles of work boots and always complained about something. Not these Keens though. He says they are comfortable and pretty light weight for steel toes. Also they breathe more than his old leather boots so he's not quite as pungent when he takes them off. He honestly has never worn a pair completely out, so I'm sure they last a few years. He's had a pair for going on two years and still wears them. The only reason we buy new ones is that work pays for them. We will definitely be buying these again next time, and the time after that.

A nice boot
I bought these boots to get me through the winter. I hate boots that go over the ankles so I was looking for a boot that felt like a sneaker but protected like a boot. This came close but didn't quite fit the bill. I did give it a high rating because it did do exactly what it says it is going to do. It just didn't fit my specific needs. The shoe is comfortable but only with thick boot socks. I tried it with regular white athletic socks and I felt it needed a bit more cushioning. It protected my foot well and when I tested it on snow and ice it gave excellent traction and kept my foot dry and warm. However, for my tastes it was a bit too heavy. I wanted something light for everyday use and the Detroit was really heavy and without the thick sock it would have felt uncomfortable. I returned them and bought the KEEN Men's Targhee II Waterproof Trail Boot. This "boot" fit my needs and was comfortable and light and protected my foot well from the elements. I don't doubt that the Keen Utility is a well made boot it just doesn't fit my exact needs

One of the best shoes I’ve ever purchased or worn
One of the best shoes I’ve ever purchased or worn! The room for ur toes to spread when kneeling is game changing, and they’re so comfortable I wear them as everyday shoes. I have a 2nd pair I wear for work that are high tops. As far as durability, the high tops seem to be holding their own, I even step on a nail that went all the way through and when I step in puddles, no Water gets to my foot. I personally will continue to buy this brand until something better comes out but for now, these are the best in my opinion.

The Best Work Boots I've Ever Owned
These are the best work boots I've ever owned. I am a builder, I am on my feet most of the day, working hard. In the past five years I have struggled to find comfort in boots, in that time I have had 5 different pairs of work boots, from $65 to $200 a pair. In the past 20 years I have had 12 pairs of steel toes. If you work hard you should be surprised to get more than a year or two out of your boots, and if you are wearing old boots you are probably not doing your feet any favors. Of all the boots I have worn, and tried, these are the most comfortable and supportive I have experienced. I was shocked that they were so comfortable right out of the box, no time needed to break them in, although after a week they are slightly more relaxed. I use to dread putting my old boots on, I genuinely look forward to putting these on and going to work.

Nice shoe. Well built. REALLY narrow toe box. Try them on extensively before you settle on a size.
Really well built but ill-fitting on my feet. I tried 3 sizes, and settled on the one that was a little long because of the narrow toe box. REALLY narrow,as in painfully compressed pinkys. As others have mentioned, they are warm, and don't breathe really well. Not waterproof, but I don't buy shoes for that purpose. Overall, they are lighter and cooler than most boots, but not as comfortable as I'd imagined. Which really sucks because they look like they will last a really long time. Just because they don't fit me perfectly shouldn't take away the shoes value for every one. They will probably be awesome for a lot of users that need less room for their pinky toes.

Epic work shoe
I've had five pairs and I'll buy a sixth. I work as a foodservice delivery driver and need a safety toe to prevent injury but also a lightweight and comfortable shoe because I'm on my feet 10-14 hours a day 4-6 days a week. Certainly I wish the shoes lasted longer as I only get 6-8 months use but they are subjected to such extreme use that I can't fault them. I constantly run up and down a ramp and walk through fryer oil and on the slippery frozen floor of my refrigerated trailer and they perform well. I have never broken through a sole or popped any stitching. Every other safety shoe I have used fails at some weak point, these are built well enough to just wear out.

Good overall quality. Squeaky on vinyl tile.
I’ve worn these for 1.5 years as a healthcare worker. I like Keens and particularly these composite toe shoes because I’m constantly kicking foot controls on stretchers and exam tables. I added my preferred (Arch2000) insoles and the fit is great. They have held up better than even some other Keens I’ve had in the past. My one complaint is that these squeak terribly on vinyl tile. They would be perfect for working on any other surface and the chunky tread seems good for hiking rough or loose terrain

Really Comfortable... not great durability
UPDATE** - I purchased these on September 5th. Now it is March 28th. I walk about 35 miles a week on concrete surfaces in these boots. They still look like they are brand new, but my back and shins are killing me. I've tried a couple of different insoles to see if I could squeeze out some more use. I figure I've walked about 800 miles in them. So looks-wise, they held up great, but I wish they hadn't packed out so fast. Once again, Keen hits it out of the park. After months of suffering through a pair of cheap Sears boots, causing leg cramps that wake me up at night, I bought these boots and they are SOOOO comfortable. (And the sale price I got them for was cheaper than the Sears boots!) No more leg cramps, and I don't feel nearly as exhausted at the end of my shift. I was occasionally wearing my Keen Targhee II hiking boots to work, but because they were waterproof, they didn't breathe and my feet would get hot and clammy. Since these boots are not waterproof, they are much more breathable and my feet stay fairly dry.
