Deep in the Forest (Picture Puffins) Review: Great Book for Helping Teach English as a Second Language - I used this wordless "Goldilocks" book in my 3rd grade classrooms with students who spoke another language other than English. It requires being in a one-on-one situation. Armed with a pad of 3" sticky notes, I would have the student TELL me the story on page 1. I would write down exactly what they said (date them). Repeat this procedure for every page. No corrections first time through. I would figure out what small chunks they needed to learn for our next lesson together. When I met with the student, I had them tell me the story again - this time using a different colored sticky note w/ the date. I would stop and teach certain words - generally nouns. We would meet repeatedly, each time the lessons became more focused on verb tense, adjectives, grammar... By parent-teacher conference time, the book was filled with notes with dates showing their child's progress. It was a win-win-win all the way around and cause for celebration. If you search "Wordless Books" you'll find other selections. I like to use this story because it is a familiar one in many cultures and isn't too long. Review: Wonderful! - A lovely book with gorgeous illustration and a delightful twist to prove the axiom that there is always two sides to any story. Try the author's Obadiah series as well.

Oldie but Goodie
This variant of Goldilocks is a beautiful wordless picture book showing baby bear wandering into the cottage of the 3 people. As it is shared with young children, they soon become aware of its relationship to "that other story". While it can be used by teachers to promote left to right progression of story, it also can demonstrate point of view. Similar to "Somebody and the Three Blairs" (Tolhurst), in its perspective, this one has quality illustrations

Fun wordless picture book
My students have been loving this wordless picture book! They definitely want to talk and share how it's so similar to "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" story, so....lots of speech and language is heard!

Fun for storytellers
The illustrations are wonderful. Please know that there are no words in this book. That makes you the storyteller or your child. It's a great way to stoke their imagination when you let them be the "author".

I use this book in the classroom. The kids enjoy the Goldilocks and the 3 Bears book as well as this reverse version. For my students and me, It's the first time we've seen a book with out any words in it. A great learning experience.

This book arrived in good condition and in good time. Great wordless story book, kids love telling the story as they look at pictures. Story is the "opposite" of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears.

文字のない本は、なかなか好まれませんが、幼児期は発想が大人に比べて無限で柔らかいので、一人一人同じページをみていても思う事はきっと違うと思います。子ぐまが人間のお家に入っていろいろするのですが、あとのストーリーは想像ですので・・・。
