LED Bulb for Mag Lite 3D 4D 5D 6D 3C 4C 5C 6C Cell Flashlights Bulb Upgrade

I’ve had a Maglite 4 D cell torch for years. It’s lovely engineering, but not particularly bright. For work, I always used modern LED torches, much smaller, brighter and more convenient. A friend suggested converting the Maglite to LED, and this item seemed a good choice. Easy to fit - just unscrew the bezel, unscrew the incandescent bulb, replace with the LED (fits exactly) and replace the glass. The difference is amazing. It’s only rated at 2W, and I was concerned it might not be very bright, but it’s amazing. I can light up trees 200m away and the beam can be focused very tightly. There is still the annoying artefact (like a hole in the beam) if you twist the focus to a wide beam, but I can live with that. It’s still better than the incandescent bulb pattern. Best of all, I get to keep my beautiful Maglite, with its size and weight and simple on/off button (no more cycling through endless settings you never use just to turn it off). I’ve fallen in love with it again. Delivery within 24 hours. Not cheap, but highly recommended.

Gave my old Maglite a completely new lease of life, it had been in a cupboard for years and is now back in regular use like an old friend! Great beam, probably better than the original incandescent bulb and much less battery drain!

This came overpacked from Amazon but arrived on time. The module came with NO INSTRUCTIONS but as it happens was easy to fit, just like the original, light bulb included. It was bought for a NOS 3D Maglite I'd recently acquired and had been using it with a Maglite MagNum Star 2 pin bulb, it was OK but being incandescent meant it would never equal an LED torch for brightness. Despite me being familiar with torches, the resulting beam came as a bit of a shock. MANY times brighter than an incandescent bulb it also presented full functionality being focusable with virtually all the age old Maglite beam artefacts being eliminated. And to cap it all off, it is a brilliant white beam with no dirty green or purple cast. This LED module is perfect for anyone who has an old Maglite (2C/D cell to 6C/D cell) lying around , a bit fed up of the old artefact prone dim yellow beam and wants a cost effective upgrade solution. It transforms the performance of the torch out of all proportion to the cost and whilst not the absolute brightest available, it doesn't get roasting hot like the others do either. Recommended.

Easy to install in my 6 cell Maglite. Much brighter than original bulb. also lesser wattage means batteries last much longer. Can fully recommend.

Well it certainly gives a better light and it should reduce battery drain too

Ordered this to go in a very old (80's) 4 D cell Maglite. This torch was used for many years on law enforcement shifts and has stood up well to the riggers but the brightness was now like a glow worm. The bulb arrived in 4 days in a very protected small plastic box within a good cardboard protective box, so no way it's getting damaged unless someone jumps on it. Was very easy to swap out the old bulb for this one, just unscrew the head of the torch and then unscrew the bulb holder. I made the mistake of looking at it when I first turned it on, DON'T, it's very bright! I saw white light in my eyes for a few minute afterwards :-) What a difference, it's very bright, well worth the price and has changed the torch beyond belief. I had been considering new batteries with the previous bulb but no, they were not the problem. If you're in law enforcement and have the old bulb type this is a no brainer, people will step back when you shine this in their direction. If your a dog walker, you won't loose sight of it. I'm now considering ordering the LED Maglite 3C torch for my daughter as she is now following her old man in serving society, my old 4D is too big for her, so she says :-)

Great product. Works perfectly in the 6D battery torch.

The bulb arrived promptly (within 2days). It was very easy to install, taking approximately 5mins. I would recommend popping some grease or WD40 on the screw threads of the torch before putting it back together. My maglite must be over 30 years old so was a little stiff to open. The grease eliminated the tightness. I use my torch when walking the dog in winter months. It is the 3cell version. This bulb has TRANSFORMED my torch!! The bright white beam is VERY POWERFUL. I managed to eliminate the black spot in the middle of the beam by slightly twisting the head of the torch. This gave me a perfect direct beam that also included a useful surrounding glow. The distance of the main beam was impressive too. WARNING Be careful if you are using your new bulb/torch in public (like I do, walking the dog) pointing this beast in a persons/animals face will cause instant temporary blindness at short to medium distance. I don’t turn mine on now when near a road just in case any oncoming traffic get dazzled. I never had to worry about this issue with my old incandescent bulb. I never thought I would ever pay this kind of money for a bulb!! I’m glad I did. It was probably cheaper for me to buy another torch? But I couldn’t bring myself to dispose of my trusty well made sturdy maglite. I’m hoping that the bulb will last the test of time? I’ve only been using it a week so I can’t comment. Nach wie vor gehören meine Maglites zu meinem Leben dazu. Unverwüstlich, zuverlässig und unmöglich, sie irgendwo in einer Schublade verschwinden zu lassen, wo man sie im Bedarfsfall nicht findet. Und auch diese LED trägt dazu bei, dass sie auch heute noch bestehen kann. Im direkten Vergleich zur originalen Kryptonlampe wird einem bewusst, wie weit die Technik ist und wie sehr wir uns dran gewöhnt haben. Denn das Original ist eine kleine Funzel mit unglaublich unregelmäßiger Ausleuchtung. Aber bis vor 20 Jahren war es unerreicht. Nun ist es immer noch unerreicht, weil die Maglite bis auf die "Birne" elektrisch und nicht elektronisch ist und somit unanfällig.

Questa semplice lampadina ha dato nuova vita alla mia Maglite 3D di oltre trenta anni fa. Tra l'altro, consente di avere un fascio molto ristretto e concentrato che illumina con potenza anche a distanze impensabili prima. Ottima!

Produit conforme à la description. Montée sur maglite 4 piles. Lumière plus blanche et surtout bien plus puissante. À voir concernant la résistance dans le temps. Un peu cher mais réellement plus puissante.

The LED replacement bulb (LED conversion kit) arrived as expected. The installation was straightforward and resulted in a significantly brighter footprint for my 3D cell Mag Lite flashlight. Completely impressed by the ease of installation and quality of the light.

20年ほど前に購入した３Ｄ（単１Ｘ３本）のＭＡＧライト。 十分に明るいと思っていましたが、近年のＬＥＤライトに比べると流石に暗い。。。 純正のＬＥＤモジュールを探しましたが、どこも品切れ、取り扱い終了で見つからず。 とりあえず純正以外で３Ｄに使用できるＬＥＤモジュールということでこちらを購入しました。 本来の性能を発揮するには６セルの９Ｖとのことですが、定電圧電源を使って４．５Ｖ～９Ｖまで変化させてみましたが、特に輝度の変化は感じられませんでした。（正確には明るすぎてわからない^^; ） ３セルでも使用できるということは、おそらく定電圧・定電流回路が組み込まれているのでは無いか？ と勝手に判断しております。 取り付けは特に問題なく、純正球と入れ替えるだけ。 電球単体で比べてみると若干ＬＥＤの方が光源が高く、ソケット側への光がカットされるので配光に不安がありましたが、全く杞憂でした。 照射光も粗悪なものは青みがかって、かえって暗く見えますが、この商品はちょうどよい白さで視認性も良好。 ほとんど車が通らない夜の道路で、約50ｍ先の反射案内板と5ｍ先のセンターラインをビーム、ワイドで照らし、比較してみました。 流石にＬＥＤは光量があるのでビーム状態では反射板からの反射光が凄い！ しかも純正球ではほとんどわからないセンターラインや路側帯のラインまで照らしています。 ワイド状態でもその差は明らか。真っ白な光が広範囲を照らしてくれるので、実用性が格段に向上しました。 ただし、それなりに発熱はあるので耐久性は不明。 ＬＥＤチップの発熱がどれだけ放熱されるか？ですが、このあたりは装着する器具の構造に左右されるかもしれませんね。
