Here is the description people: Honest Amish Beard Balm is created from the finest organic ingredients available. We start with a proprietary blend of hair strengthening botanical infused in a base of Virgin Argan, Avocado, Almond, Virgin Pumpkin Seed, and Apricot Kernel Oils. It is then masterfully crafted with fruit and nut butters (Shea, Aloe, Cocoa, Kokum, to name a few), and hair enhancing essential oils. Subtle scents of Cedarwood, Anise (licorice), and Clove. We recommend that people with nut allergies avoid this product or test a small amount before application. Honest Amish Beard Balm will help soften, condition, dry splitting hairs, and nourish new growth. Our balm is also very conditioning for your skin and will stop the itching caused by new growth and wild rogue hairs. Due to the use of only natural ingredients in our beard balm, separation of the product may occur when exposed to fluctuations in temperature. The beard balm will continue to work as normal; it will just require a few extra seconds of manipulation when melting in your hands. However, to return it back to a smooth consistency it can be melted back down by placing the beard balm in a warm place (direct sun light, in car, heater vent, etc. Do not use open flames, microwaves, or stove tops) Once melted, secure the lid on your beard balm and shake it up, mixing up all the oils. Then allow to cool to room temperature or place in refrigerator for faster solidification. Beard Balm may liquefy in transit USE CAUTION WHEN OPENING. We use absolutely NO man made chemicals or preservatives and NO fake fragrances or colorants in any of our products. Packaged in a 100 percent recyclable tin. Made in The U.S.A. by hand for an honest wage. If you are not 100 percent satisfied with your purchase for any reason, please return it for a full refund. With that said. It explains most of your complaints in the 3% and 7% categories. My review so far: *Consistency is exactly what is expected for balm. *Scent is great and have gotten a ton of feedback from peers and family. Smells great, bottom line. *Stops itching as noted as it gets to the root of your beard. Just make sure you put a little bit on your fingers then rub it around to make it clear, then apply throughout your beard and to the roots of your beard. Important. *I use a beard brush to manage my curly beard and is recommended as I saw complaints in the poor reviews about this. If you have stray hairs, train them with a beard brush and a blow dryer on medium heat, not HOT! Overall, this is a great beard balm! Natural, full of fine ingredients and made in USA. Not sure where the tin is made, but probably Chinese(I would like clarification on this). Looks to be aluminum tin but not sure. In then end for those that say it does not work, opinionated statement and based on your beard type. For those that say use "conditioner" same affect, well, a ton of store bought poorly made conditioners have all type of chemicals and manufactured oils that can dry your beard beyond belief. Conditioner chemicals comprise of Benzyl Alcohol, Isopropyl Alcohol, Propyl Alcohol and Ethanol. Parabens are also used with preservatives that can cause skin sensitivities, so watch out people! For those that say, it melts, changes color, etc., well, place/store in a cool area, do not expose to heat! Its' common sense people, stop giving poor reviews and if you do, you can return for a full refund. This is my first time buying this product and have no affiliation with the product, but when you state what you do in the reviews please educate yourself to substantiate your claims. Review closing comment: *Great product, smells absolutely nice, paste is great and works well in beard in my opinion and many others. Feel confident purchasing. If you do not like it, return it. Really easy folks!

My Journey Bearding Began With This Great Product!
This stuff is great! I have previously tried to grow a beard, and decided to trim and shave my whiskers because of the dreaded beard itch. I tend to have dry skin problems in the winter, and while I've always wanted to grow my beard during this time of year, it also tends to dry my face. After browsing a few beard forums and seeing this product mentioned a few times, I decided to wander over to Amazon and purchase this beard balm. I now use it daily. It has made my beard very soft and manageable, while taming some of the stray whiskers that tend to stick straight out rather than fall with the flow of my beard. If the right amount is used, then it will present a nice softness to the skin that doesn't feel greasy. THE SMELL - I have seen mention of a smell in some reviews of this product. While it certainly does have a unique smell to it, the smell is natural. My nose doesn't detect any sort of artificial fragrance, and the smell seems all natural. If you are familiar with the smell of Cocoa Butter, then you will instantly be able to pick it up. It was definitely the main scent that I could detect. My wife cannot smell any distinct scent, even when her nose is touching my beard. THE SIZE - Be warned, you may be disappointed in the size of this product when it arrives at your door. While I was certainly surprised, I can say that a little bit of this product really does go a long way, and it really does help with growth and softness. RECOMMENDATIONS - Attached is a photo of the amount that I use. It is plenty to allow for entire beard coverage, while any remaining balm I have left, I apply to the rest of my face to prevent any dryness. The excess balm works great to hydrate and protect skin all day! Simply take a small amount with your finger tip, and rub well in between your hands. The paste will melt down into the consistency of an oil, and spread evenly throughout your beard. If too much of the balm is used, it will leave the beard looking slightly oily and over-conditioned in the sun. After seeing how much this product has helped maintain my beard, I am interested in trying some other products from the company! The quality is great!

Honest review. Oops, my bad. Decent product though.
First of all, I thought I already reviewed this, so if I have 2 reviews, I apologize for taking up all the space. I want to start by saying I bought the wrong product, as when I was scoping it out, I was looking at the heavy duty balm, but I didnt pay attention there were multiple options, which is my fault, I know, I mean, i did see it, but i figured only the size would be different. When i ordered there was only 1 option available, which turned out to be the leave in conditioner, not really what i wanted and needed, but heck i used it anyway. Its not bad, it doesnt smell terrible, it does have a little bit of "old man smell" but you know, its not terrible. It does get quite oily, So you might not want to touch your beard too much. Its pretty easy to use. After a while it does get "chunky" in the package, but if you put it in your hands and warm it up, its still usable and works the same. It just, looks, less "tasty", but ur not supposed to eat it so thats maybe a good thing nowadays. I do plan on getting the heave duty at some point, see how that works, but for now Im just using the conditioner. Anyway its conditioner, most important thing is to properly maintain your beard, cutting the excess hairs n stuff, dont expect any balm to do magic if you dont want to put in the effort.

Great balm
This is the biggest difference I've noted. It makes my beard way softer, almost cloud like and I find myself stroking the hair just for comfort. It also adds a really nice sheen that I find really endearing. It is a little oily but I'm pretty sure I'm just using a bit more than I should in combination with their Pure Oil. It's not really taming the wispys as much as I'd like but honestly I'd rather natural ingredients to borderline glue. It has no scent at all which is exactly what I wanted and it lasts all day easily. This jar will probably last me a couple of months I think, so that makes it really easy to justify the price.

Clearing up the complaints in these other reviews.
First, the scent. What about the scent? There is much to-do about the scent in the reviews and you may be afraid that the scent is "strong" or that you'll smell like licorice all the time. Don't be concerned. I have no idea what these people are on about. There is a hint of anise (black licorice) but I think the scent is a mix of spice notes and woodsy scents with maybe a tiny bit of anise. I think, personally, the top note is clove. Is it a strong scent? No, absolutely not. One single spritz of cologne is way stronger than this stuff. Will you smell it? Yes, faintly, and for a little bit until you either adjust or the scent fades away--it's hard to measure what is actually happening under one's nose. Having used it for a few days, my wife did not even notice the scent of it on me. In fact, for the sake of science, I put a lot on one morning, waited a few minutes, and had my wife give me a sniff from about 5 inches away. She said that she couldn't really smell anything at all. In any event, I think it smells quite good. (NOTE: If you cringe at the thought of wearing even the weakest scent, as some men do, Honest Amish makes an unscented version of this balm.) Does it work? Yes. My beard is softer and it looks nicer too. I'd recommend the product to anyone who uses a stronger soap for face cleaning as a strong soap turns your beard hair into steel wool. This, along with some good conditioner, helps put things back into shape. Does it help with the dreaded beard itch? Yes, and boy was I glad that it did. Does it help with the dreaded beardruff? Yes, my skin is regularly flaky with beards and this took care of that too. Is it greasy? Well, at first it is a little moist. After you put it on, it does seem to soak up very well such that you don't have any meaningful residue on your beard. If you use a lot, it'll be a bit greasy, but if you've used a beard oil before you should know what you're in for. Does it help with holding or shaping? Basically, no. It does contain wax, but this stuff is for conditioning. If you want a bit more hold, buy the heavy duty balm (and see my review on that.) I used this stuff in the early stages of my beard and switched to the heavy duty balm when my beard got longer and more unruly. Does a little go a long way? Yes, so don't be put off by what seems to be a small tin. You're supposed to apply this to a damp beard and the dampness helps the small amount of the product go even further. There's no "set" amount to use here, naturally. You can tailor it to your liking or your need for conditioning. I tend to use a good-sized portion, particularly as my beard gets longer and before I transition over to the Heavy Duty Beard Balm. Still, I'm not burning through tins. I've had the same tin for more than a year. Get it. Try it. A "For The Ladies" Edit, 11/29/15: My wife, for whatever reason, started using this on the ends of her hair. She's been doing it for months now and swears by it. So, I asked her why she likes it so much. She said that it keeps her ends moisturized and it has helped to eliminate split ends. She said she also thinks it would have useful application in controlling fly-aways while braiding. I'm pretty sure I have very little idea what that means.

Great Beard Balm
Great beard balm that moisturizes and has great value. The scent is great and it works very well for helping keep the frizz at bay. I will definitely buy again.

Good product with some drawbacks.
This is my first beard conditioning product so keep in mind while reading this review. Nothing to compare it to. The most important question for a product like this is: Will it soften and condition my beard/facial hair? The answer is: YES. To a degree. I've been using this product a few times a week for about 2.5 weeks and I can definitely feel a welcome softness that wasn't there before. How much softer can a beard get? No idea. But considering how rough it was before, THIS STUFF MADE A DIFFERENCE AFTER THE FIRST USE. In fact, after three uses, a coworker made a comment that my beard looked better. More full than usual. That was kind of nice. So what's my problem with it? 1. You really don't get much for the money. It's suggested you use this daily. Well depending on the size of your beard (and mine is pretty small), you're going to run out fairly quickly. I haven't tried any other brands yet, less expensive or otherwise, but I felt like for the money, the amount you get is just a bit disappointing. 2. It's GREASY as hell. (Seems obvious but keep reading). It's also suggested that for best results you treat this product as a "leave in" conditioner. Meaning you can leave it in for hours or even until your next shower. So far this has been problematic. It's damn difficult to clean off my hands after applying to my beard. One does not simply rinse this this stuff off. One must get soap, warm water, and SCRUB your hands down thoroughly. Also, if you leave it in, it's going to get on your hands again...and again...and again throughout the day. So beware of this. All in all, it's a good product. It's done what it's designed to do with success. It doesn't smell bad, comes in a nice little tin, and doesn't irritate the skin. As long as you understand how amazingly greasy this stuff is and can deal with that, go for it. My experience with this product has been good enough to buy it again but I plan to try a few other brands before returning to see if there's something with better overall value and comparable results.

Please read for the best mixture ever!
This brand holds longer and better than any other balm out there. Their regular duty is amazing and their wax is amazing too. Even their heavy grit is awesome. I take 4 oz of heavy duty, 2 Oz of heavy grit and 2 Oz of their wax and melt them together in a small mason jar on the stove, mix them real good (you've gotta melt and mix really good no chunks all smooth) and then put the Mason jar in the freezer pulling it out ever few mins to shake. It prevents the heavier oils from settling at rhe bottom. If you do that for about 20 to 30 mins you will have the best mixture ever. ***You can do this in a microwave as well but only do it for a few seconds at a time. You can cook the oils and dry them out if you keep them in the microwave for more than a few seconds at a time. AND OF COURSE DON'T PUT THE TINS IN THE MICROWAVE USE THE MASON JAR W NO LID!!
