Review: One of the better books on the Yoga Sutras - One of the better books on the Yoga Sutras, Swami Vivekananda can be credited for bringing awareness of the Yoga Sutras back to the general public in India which had largely been forgotten for many centuries, a very important and good man, God bless him, he was an intellectual of his time and helped out India in general alot. As well this is a good translation of the Yoga Sutras, one of the better ones you can buy, especially in english. Another important point is that there are three versions of this generally available being one with only the introduction half, one with only the Yoga Sutras translation half, and one with both and this one has both so make sure to check when you look at different copys of Swami Vivekananda's Raja Yoga that you get the one with almost 200 pages. Review: Pretty solid all in all, good repetition of key ideas. - Not for beginners but it is at the same time. The book is pretty good, minimum grammar errors but it can get dense around pages 50-70. However It is a pretty solid representation of Swami V’s thoughts. It really speaks volumes on Ashtanga yoga. So far it’s a good book, not amazing. Solid read.

A must read
The Swami speaks with great clarity about Patanjali's Yogasutras, do hear him out :) The Dualistic Sankhya is treated in an almost non-dual manner at the end.

A very good translation and commentary
Simple, direct, intelligent, - also easy to read. Definitely recommend to all who are reading the Sutras and interested in Raja Yoga. I learned a lot.

Liberation can be achieved by adopting the principles of Spiritual Science.
Patanjali Yogasutras are hereby commented and explained in a lucid and scientific manner by a Self Realised Master, the legendary Swamy Vivekananda. The commentary reaches and appeals to a rational mind with out a dichotomy. This book is like a guide and reference to any serious student of Spiritual Science as I believe.I

Excellent introduction to Raja Yoga
"Yoga" is commonly associated with physical wellness, whereas the depth and breadth it covers is simply unfathomable for most people. This book by Swami Vivekananda introduces readers to Raja Yoga. Excellently written and very intriguing. Inspires readers to dive deeper into this fascinating knowledge.

From the Heart and Experience
I've read a few versions of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras over the years so now, as they say, it's time to put the books down and get on with the show. But I'm glad that I read this version last (for now) because, while some others can be academic and scholarly in their approach, Swami Vivekananda writes with a sense of ease and you know that he is imparting his wisdom.

Interesting book, but seemingly partially theoretical regarding Yoga (as well as many other popular descriptions/pictures in other books of other authors). In any case it is interesting to read original. Interesting position of Sri Swami Vivekananda generally - he has own oppinion and expresses it (no neutral position and no silence)

Very happy with it. Thank You

This book is two-in-one. Convenient Kindle version has both Vivekananda's Raja Yoga lectures and Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. I suggest getting Annie Besant's Introduction to Yoga which is specifically essential reading before Patanjali's Yoga Sutras.

To those who want to have an insight and proximity of Vivekananda's wisdom. Such analysis on such a classic Yoga text is a bliss of truth and knowledge.
