Great connectors!
Easy to assemble, sturdy. Easily soldered, clean signal over a few years of use.

Best type of XLR connector - or any connectors - are from Neutrik
Best connectors and strain relief in the industry. The old Switchcraft screws did little to nothing to safely retain cables and usually ended up destroying the rubber boot and losing it's grab, when they didn't back out on their own! Neutrik connectors use an internal shield that also acts like a chuck to safely and securely grab the wire. The other comment here about Switchcraft screws is a joke. Oh my. We no longer carry small greeny screw drivers with us to tighten those lousy screws or to repair a connector. Neutrik is a no-tool wonder. With over 40 years of audio work (mixing, mastering, building racks and racks of gear for studio and remotes!) I can highly recommend Neutrik. They are the gold standard. When I first started working in this arena in the early 80's the elderly chief engineer was scared of anything but Switchcraft. It was all folk lore and habit. But, after seeing our wonderful experience with Neutrik he became a believer, as did all the engineers. It's sad to see someone actually think the Switchcraft mini screws as being "better" than anything! Um, no. Not even close!

Fit mating connectors well
Easy to solder to, they fit the mating connectors. Seemingly well made.

Easy to solder Wires or resistor
You can make your own terminator with this brand but you probably need the female version for that. The connectors, male and female are good quality and secure a cable nicely. The silver contacts are good enough for DMX lighting cables. Note you can used these to make balanced mike cables too but the cable material for DMX lighting MUST be chosen for that spec. The MIC cables would have a different characteristic impedance than DMX cable. If you are confused, search "different in DMX and Mic cable"

Great xlr connector.
Are you serious at an outdoor range in Florida. The connectors are outside 24/7 and hold up to the elements with a little bit of dielectric grease in them. These are far superior to other XLR connectors in the same price category.

Neutrik is the best - don't bother with the rest for XLR...
Neutrik XLR connectors are the best I've ever used - sturdy and consistent. I'm surprised these cast metal connectors don't cost more. I've used other brands extensively, but after using Neutrik, I don't bother with anything else anymore for XLR. If you know of any better XLR that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, please tell me - haven't seen it yet in the last 15 years. Wish they had gold contacts, but I've used other brands that do have gold contacts and they weren't built as reliable.

The best
I bought some of these because I wanted to make my own Mogami cables, because I’m cursed with DIY disease. If you’re like me, you have to take everyday simple tasks like, I don’t know, buying a mic cable, and turn it into a quest to learn how to solder and wire up electronics. at first all you wanted to do was save a little money and rather than buy it from guitar center, you’ll make it yourself, quick and easy right? WRONG. You are the cable maker now. This is your life. Your fingers are burnt and the day is gone, but you made it yourself. And you won’t stop talking about it to your long suffering wife. But she is kind and tells you just how handy and smart you are. And you’ve got a cable to show for it. And all things being equal after you had to buy the heat shield, the soldering tip, the bulk wiring and neutrik tips, you’ve saved a total of 8 dollars off retail and it only took you six hours. But if you’re like me, you’re going to read this review and do it anyway.

Fine for the price but I prefer the old-school screw retaining method used by Switchcraft
Work fine, but their method of retaining the inserted cable doesn't seem as straightforward or solid as the old-school Switchcraft method using small screws to tighten and secure the 3-pin insert to the external shell.
