just what i needed
this book has a nice cross section of the OLDER Disney songs...as another reviewer says, nothing newer than the Little Mermaid. But i play at nursing homes, and those people want things from the 50's and before. So they know Snow White, and Bambi and Dumbo and even Lady & the Tramp, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. Lavender Blue, Dilly (made popular by Burl Ives) is a good one for them. This is easy piano, some of them are a little harder than others, but overall i would say they are easier than most "easy piano" books, which are made for intermediate players. There are little flairs at the ends of some of the songs that make them silly, which i just leave out. I don't like how "One Song," which is such a beautiful song, but is turned into a march by the bass line being a constant series of half notes, played steadily in a downward line...it is supposed to be an uplifting song, and i have had to read the guitar chords and play arpeggios instead, make it sound uplifting, the way i want it to sound. This is good for me, lots of people use the guitar chords to supplement their playing, but it is something i am just learning to do. So it is nice that they are there. I really wish some of the verses were included in some of the songs, like "Let's Go Fly A Kite," instead of just the chorus. "Cruella DeVille" is perfect, according to my (teenage) children, who had to come off their electronics from out of their closed bedrooms to tell me :) Overall, great fun and i am so happy to have read other user's reviews and found this book,, i find the review system so helpful! Previously, i was playing from a 70's collection of Disney songs, and it was taking me alot of practice time. It is so much easier with this book, and the nursing home people seem to like it, too! One of the interesting things about this book is that it has a cross-referenced listing to the Disney "Records" (do they still have those?" It has each volume of "record" and what is on it, and then the page number in the book so you can find it...to play along? I don't know, i would be surprised, since all these are in "easy" keys as well, but maybe.

Excellent Beginner Piano Book
I was initially very pleased with how safely this spiral bound piano book was packaged and easily opened. This will be a Christmas gift for my granddaughter. I’m sure she will find many familiar Disney songs to encourage her learn beginner piano.

Starting to play with the left hand too!
I think its good for diffrent ranges of beginners. Some songs seemed a bit too hard for where I am, while others seemed do-a-ble which is good because it leaves room to improve. Still it would be cool if the difficulty of each song was marked, since the first song in the book seemed a bit too challenging for me, and I sort of dont know what I'm doing. It looks like 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight',' Feed The Birds' and 'Bear Necessitates' and a couple others are around my play range. Had the book for about a week and im slowly working my way through the first page of. 'Can You Feel The Love' I have no idea what level I am. Ive taken a very few college keyboard classes and tried to self teach on and off through the years, But this is the first song I have found that I am able to slowly work in my left hand for the first time without it being too hard and me giving up. The first adjoining bass clef note is marked above the first trebble clef note in every measure which is pretty cool and helpful, and makes it feel less overwhelming and makes it simple and easy to slowly add in the left hand this way which was my goal in trying to take the next step in learning, but I was having a hard time as everything that I sought out seemed too hard, untill this book came along.

Sweet collection of songs for an advanced beginner
I have several Easy Piano song books -50 Easy Ballads, 50 Easy Rock, and Giant Book of Easy Christmas by Dan Coates. I wanted something that would be easy to play from the get go and this book fits that need. Just a glance at the pages shows you bigger notes, less notes, and simple arrangements. Some of the other reviews mention different editions of the book - I got the dark red cover, the older songs, songs from Frozen and the same binding that could be better but it is how my other books are too. The Theme from Zorro is a bit obscure but a treat for folks who remember the show. There is pretty much something for everyone in here but if you are not sure - look at the sample photos in the listing and the reviews.

This is exactly what I was looking for. The music teacher who wrote the bad review about this book greatly help me made the decision about if this is the one I was looking for :). The pieces are easy to practice for any beginner to intermediate pianist, but not easy for the kids who doesn't know anything about notes or who can only play pieces that are in C major. I can't think of a Disney song without syncopation. If the author was trying to make the book so easy that he/she removes the syncopation, I'm sure the music teachers would have a hard time teaching those kids, because all of them would say "That's not the way the music play". "Beauty and the Beast", "Bare Necessity", "Be my Guest", "Can You Feel the Love Tonight". and so on. All of those songs have syncopation and that is one of the reason they are so beautiful in people's ear. This one is my 4th Disney piano books and it's easier to practice. I use the other ones only if I want to challenge myself with some difficult pieces. But if I want to learn some pieces fast, this one is the one I'll ever use.

as an adult learner was looking for something easy to play, almost too easy but at least it not frustrating and I can play most of them from the first time. would have liked a little more challenge but that is difficult to balance. Enjoyable and fun

This book is incredible. I love the songs and am slowly trying to learn to play them. I learnt to play as a child and have recently taken up playing again as an adult but seem to have forgotten everything. The songs are not exactly easy for me but I think that may just be because I was never that good and am now very rusty!
