I’ve tried many pancake mixes over the years, but this organic pancake mix has truly become a staple in our kitchen—especially when the grandkids visit! The best part? It’s egg-free, which is a huge win for our family since one of my grandsons has an egg allergy. Not only does it give me peace of mind knowing he can enjoy breakfast safely, but all the kids love the taste. The pancakes come out fluffy and delicious every time, with a great texture and just the right touch of sweetness. It’s so easy to make too—just add water and you’re good to go!

This organic chocolate chip pancake and waffle mix is amazing. I grew up eating chocolate chip pancakes, and there's nothing quite like them for a Sunday morning breakfast. If you've never tried them, you really should if you like chocolate. I've always wanted my son to have the chance to enjoy them too, but he grew up with really bad dairy, nut and egg allergy. I've tried adapting recipes over the years to make an allergy friendly version and thought my concoctions turned out pretty good under the circumstances, but my homemade attempts didn't come close to this allergy friendly mix by Birch Benders- which is free of allergens like dairy, nut, egg and soy too. I'm not going to try and persuade anyone that chocolate chip pancakes are health food, but at least this mix is organic, NonGMO and contains a short list of real ingredients instead of a bunch of artificial junk. BPA free bags are used, and the mix I received expires in 1 year (9/2017). This mix makes incredibly delicious pancakes and is so easy as all you do is add water, stir and cook the pancakes on a heated, oiled pan or griddle. Surprisingly, these rise nicely even though there's no egg, and they're so good that no pancake fan would ever think this is an allergy friendly mix with no egg or dairy. Even my husband who's always thought there was something wrong about eating chocolate chip pancakes is asking me to whip up a batch on the weekends. I absolutely love this mix, and it makes me happy that the whole family can enjoy it as it accommodates all of our allergies. For a late Sunday morning breakfast treat-or any time at all- I definitely recommend Birch Benders chocolate chip pancake and waffle mix. Serve them with a drizzle of real maple syrup, and it's simply delicious. Made in the USA.

Outside not being Organic (which is always a major plus, hence the 4-star rating) the ingredient list is small and doesn't contain bioengineered products. It is Non-GMO! The mix cooks very well if you give it time to rise for a few minutes after mixing with spring water. I never use tap in my foods. It browns well and evenly of a cast iron surface, which I recommend for cooking pancakes. They come out very fluffy and tasty with my favorite 100% organic maple syrups. When I first opened the box, I opened up to powder all over the inside of the box because there was a slice in the plastic of the bag. I had to put some tape over it and it was fine. I don’t use my stove or waffle maker very often anymore so I make microwave pancakes which I made this morning. It was so good but a little on the dry side which is fine because syrup exists so it wasn’t a big deal. The flavor is like normal pancake flavor. These would be good with vegan chocolate chips or blueberries though! Definitely recommend trying this brand of pancake mix. Super yummy! I think you get a good bang for your buck with two bags for about 10 bucks too.

The best pancake and we are settling for this brand now. It is more costly than other brand, but worth it. Very fluffy and delicious.
