Good low-cost easy-to-use instrument
The item works just as described. We tested it against a second device by a different manufacturer, and it provided essentially identical data most of the time. I would recommend it as a very functional low-cost instrument to monitor one’s O2 level and pulse. There was one little glitch where the pulse readout occasionally read significantly too high (like 85 instead of 60) for a short period, then corrected itself. As my pulse had not changed, it was a problem with the detection or signal analysis. We found that this issue did not persist, and the oxygen sensing was not affected, which is the most important feature. The only other comment is that the readout is to be read by someone sitting opposite the patient, but frequently this device would be used by someone alone, who is self-monitoring. Having an option for turning the display around, or having it read 90 degrees rotated could be very useful.

Santamedical Oximeter Review
I am impressed with the consistency of the units performance. I recommend taking multiple readings and determining the best placement for the index finger. I would give it 4 of 5 stars for accuracy compared to the units used in medical facilities that are considerably more expensive. The device appears to be good quality, but, only time and use will tell for sure. I would rate it as a 4.5 of 5, due to the unknown durability in time. Overall, this is a terrific product from the testing so far. I am hoping not to actually need it, but, I do have asthma. Better safe than sorry. If I had one suggestion for the manufacturer, it is to offer an option to have the screen face the person being tested. It's not a big deal, but, it would be a nice convenience.

Really well done
I bought this more from curiosity and maximizing info on my health, no specific "need". It is priced very fairly and was not a big financial sacrifice to buy. It is easy to use, seems accurate, info is handy in general but especially if anyone feels ill, and now we can take some key measurements as a doctor would do in any exam. It comes with a nice little protective case and a wrist strap, and the case has multiple ways of attaching to a person using their belt, etc., nice touches. It's just well thought-out, well-done, and I am very happy with it.

Works perfectly for most people, not at all on some.
Due to covid-19 my kids cardiologist has switched to video chat appointments. This thing has been great for use with that, and measures heart rate well when it works. However, for some reason it doesnt like my 13yr old. It does not work on her, but works accurately on everyone else we have tried it on (at least 10 people). It compares almost exactly to my fitbit heart rate monitor, and counting the old fashioned way. 4 stars because accuracy, easy to read, and ease of use are all great for most people, just not my teenager!

Seems to work!
This oximeter seems to work just fine. I've never bought an oximeter before so don't have much to compare to but I tested the readings on different members of the family and it varied slightly which would make sense so I'm guessing it's working good. It's extremely light plastic and doesn't feel "substantial" in weight or material. But then, maybe it doesn't need to be. They could have made the label of "temp" and "O2" on the screen a little bolder. It took me a minute to figure out which reading was which because I could barely read the labeling. However, once you know which readout is what, it's very easy to read the numbers which is the critical thing. I'd recommend. I just hope we never need to use it while this pandemic is going on!!!

A life saver
This device may have saved my dad's life. I got him one for Xmas as a lightening deal impulse buy, but they're inexpensive full price. He suffered a health crisis recently and I thought maybe it would come in handy and, if nothing else, be interesting to check our pulse and blood oxygen. Men are hard to shop for, so I figured at least it was a practical gift. His energy had been very low Xmas morning. By afternoon, the kids were playing with their toys and I decided to put batteries in and give it a try. The instructions tell you how to operate it, but don't explain what is a normal blood oxygen level. My dad said anything over 90 was normal (I actually think it's more like 92). His was 78. I contacted my sister, an RN, who said to take him to the ER. He was admitted to the hospital that day. The doctors were all surprised at my answer to "what brings you here today?" It was the pulse oximeter I gave my dad for Xmas! I compared the numbers on the device to those read by hospital equipment and it's pretty accurate. Maybe 1 or 2 points difference. I highly recommend this product.
