Revell 04991 U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 (TOS) 1:600 Scale Unbuilt/Unpainted Plastic Model Kit

I ordered this Revell U.S.S. Enterprise kit for my dad for Father’s Day, and it was basically the fastest way to earn “favourite child” status. The box alone had him grinning like Captain Kirk about to yell Engage! (wrong captain, but you get the vibe). It’s unbuilt and unpainted, which means he gets to spend hours happily tinkering, muttering about warp cores, and pretending the dining table is a star dock. I joked that we now need the whole collection – one starship for each room. I even wondered if there’s a Deep Space Nine kit, though that one would definitely have to live in Dad’s shed… way, way, way out.

I built this model twice and I absolutely love it because it allows you to go as simple as you want, or add as much detail as you want. You can easily add your own custom details and lights or if you build it as the standard version it will still look good. The moulds are all pretty much perfect, and it’s an excellent sized model unlike some of the newer models which are frankly tiny and difficult to work on. I’ve heard some people moan about the pylons being weak, however I’ve personally never experienced this and found that they actually hold together well if you take your time. I would highly recommend this model to anyone.

The media could not be loaded. Good qaulity kit the instructions were clear amd helpful I made my own light kit to light up the model it turned out better than expected 😀

Can’t say I have any complaints about this model. It is definitely the best one I’ve built yet. Incredible detail and very good instructions. I’d highly recommend using Revell Contacta glue as it’s definitely better stuff for model building. I spent a lot of time putting this together and really enjoyed the experience. I painted it also which really added to it. You just have to mix a couple of paints to get the proper shades. All in all it’s great value for money and it sits proudly on my bedside locker.

Good looking model, but unfortunately either Amazon or the seller decided to not package mine in a box, opted for a paper bag instead. This left the box rather battered and not the best looking present. Thankfully contents inside were fine, so happily received as a gift regardless.

This is how I spent my time in lockdown - brilliant model, not too challenging a build but painting it is slightly tricky as the instructions calls for three paints to be mixed for the main base colour.Will likely spend more on paint than the model itself - really really worth it though

Its a decent model but the plastic is hard to paint so you dont get the effect thats shown on the box. Have tried 2 different paints and its still not silver.
