Tastes really good!
It took a couple of tries to get used to, but now I really enjoy it. It takes awhile to make but is a little quicker than homemade hot cocoa made with cocoa powder, etc. No measuring, just plop 1/4 of a block in milk for one serving, or a whole block for 4 servings. I break it up into fours if making four servings so that it melts faster. Definitely cook as instructed. It needs medium heat in order to dissolve properly.

like christmas warm & fuzzies in my coffee. lol heavy on the cinnamon!
so im a bit weird with my coffee i guess, i like adding hot chocolate to my hot coffee beverages. i recently was gifted a 5lb whole bean bag of Starbucks christmas blend(not the holiday blend, christmas is better in all things.) i loved the sumatran dark roast but...it wasnt christmasey enough! so i bought this and added like 2 of the triangle wafer peices to it lol waay too much, but tasted amazing! from now on i only need 1 little triangle per 8oz cup of my hot sumatra, but i add it to the cup before my 💓mainstays single serve dual brew💜 starts adding the hot coffee into the cup, & i just mix it in! its amazing. no added sugar as this has all that already. i add in some french vanilla dairy creamer as well for a richer drink, but both almond, & coconut milk was good too!💙 my husband says it smells heavily of big red bubble gum out of the package to him, which hes right it has a cold throw of cinnamon gum, but its completely different hot. much more delicious & complex, like a fancy christmas blend milk chocolate dream when heated up. next im trying the ibarra bc i am in need of a thicker drink, with darker chocolate flavor & less cinnamon.. on normal days i dont need the xmas warm & fuzzies lol i got mental comfort from this drink & im keeping the jar in a cold dark shelf on the floor of my desk to help preserve it. heat rises to kitchen cuppords & shelves! if you are curious about dabbling into the world of mexican hot chocolate drink bars like these, let me tell you! Emmy made, on youtube is who got me to order this in the first place with her review of both. its not normal chocolate bars, its a mix of rough cut chunky sugar, cinnamon, & hot cocoa mix all put together with fine mexican chocolate, & it has changed my coffee for good. i store one whole wafer at a time pre cut in a clean pickel jar for quick coffee in the mornings & nights💖

disolves well, taste good (no dairy?) however...
I found this prodcut as best value i could find that did not have any dairy ingredients in it for a Hot chocolate and best price per ounce. I got it quickly from amazon .. on time.. Oddly though, however the prodcuct package was open on top.. I was a little concerned about that. If i was buying this as a gift i would have definitely been upset because would want it pritine package like if i bought it in store. I looked at the individually wrappte cake disks.. and they all seemed to look unopened and in good shape. I checked for a "best by date.I didnt see anything written on the package they come in.. but each individual one had date "Aug 31, 2021". And i recevieved them Dec 2, 2020.. so i have roughly about 9 months before that best by date, which should not be hard to consume them by. What i was pleasently surprised by is that the cakes are splite into quarter portions.. so i can get 4 mugs of hot chocolate per cake.. which really adds to the value. And from what i can tell there are no dairy ingredients in them. If anyone knows otherwise, please let me know. They desolve well in hot water from my hot water dispensing mation.. i kind of crusth the quarter cake in the hot water with a metal spoot and stir.. and after about a minute it is completely disolved.. and it taste just as good as the swiss miss version i have bought which has dairy. I don't need to add dairy to this mexciacan hot chocolate.. it taste good enough with hot water. I plan to buy more in future and recommend it to other people if the price stays at this level. ($3 per 5 cake pack) Later i might try microwaving some soy, oat, or almond milk to add to the cacke and see if i can make it tase creamier.. or add some soy milk powder which i bought on amazon and see how well that tastes.. It does tast sweet enough on its own i am sastisfied .. other than the package i received being open.

wow..
In terms of taste...wow. This option is beyond better Nestle's regular hot chocolate mix. For about the same price, you get a much better flavor that tastes like real chocolate. I love how you can smell it all around your house when you make it, and how good it is for the holidays.

Much sweeter than expected.
I havent used this chocolate before, but it's supposed to help one's breast milk production when made into hot cocoa. Delicious cocoa, but WOW it's sweet. Like, it's more sweet than chocolatey. Smooth texture but takes forever to melt, it can get really grainy like so I have to use my hand blender to cream it into the milk to make the cocoa smooth.

Good just from $23 to $37, huge Trumpflation (74%)
Excellent flavor and foam. The huge downside is with Trump’s tariffs the price has nearly doubled from 23 (at the peak of highest inflation during Biden) to now 37. This is a price surge of 74%.

Excellent product, rediscovered by chance (in Europe), reminding us of when we used to drink it in Mexico in the '80s. It's a shame the shipping cost doubles its original price !

We’ve been using Nestle Abuelita Mexican Chocolate to help boost my wife’s milk supply, and it’s been great! She enjoys the rich, comforting flavor, and it’s an easy and tasty way to support lactation. The chocolate melts easily, making a warm, soothing drink any time of day. Plus, it’s something she actually looks forward to drinking, which makes it a win-win for both flavor and function!

This hot chocolate was bought before a trip to Mexico when I was searching for products to try with our kids as a surprise ahead of our holiday. This hot chocolate is so lovely, with the spices making it so much better than standard hot choc! Some might say it's a faff to make (the old fashioned stirring into milk on the hob method) but you have to put a bit of work in the get the rewards sometimes! These are individually wrapped "cakes" of spiced chocolate that make several mugs per "cake", or you can break off a segment for a single serving.
