Finally, a healthy, tasty meal replacement
Glad that I found this product! I’ve tried many meal replacements, looking for a good-tasting drink with high quality ingredients that I could prepare quickly, to replace a couple of meals a day, for healthy weight loss & nutrition. All were too sweet for my tastes. Real Meal is the first meal replacement I’ve found that has neither added sugar nor artificial sweeteners. I mix 6 T. Powder, 1 c plant-based almond milk, a handful of spinach, and one of the following - 1/2 banana, 1/2 apple or 1/4 c blueberries, for a total of 240 healthy calories. I find it filling and delicious. I will say that, at 6 T per serving (which I found best), it is pricey, but comparable to other high quality meal replacement products - NONE of which are sweetener-free. I’d recommend giving it a try. In addition, I emailed their customer service a question, and received a response within an hour. Surprising, these days. Kudos! Btw, the fact that the “potting soil” comment pops up first when searching reviews is unfair and almost convinced me to look elsewhere. So glad I didn’t. I’m not a masochist; if this tasted terrible I’d drop it pretty quickly. If you’re looking for a sugary shake, look elsewhere. If you’re looking for a nutritious, satisfying meal that has a mild chocolatey taste, you’ve found it. Give it a try!

Cleanest best tasting Plant Protein Powder on the Market
Pure Foods Real Meal Plant Protein Powder should be offered with school lunches across the world! Best tasting Plant Protein Powder on the Market and I I have tried a lot of powders that either have hidden sugars or special not so healthy additives to improve flavor. I love that Scott, owner/developer is accessible to answer questions and sources the cleanest, purest products available for this plant protein powder. I do wish he would re-post the amino acid protein content diagram wheel from yesteryear. All ingredients are listed clearly with basic explanations. Fantastic Product. I have been using this product for many years (+5 now) and also use for a person with stomach tube that can only eat through tube. Powder mixes well and doesn't clump in tube. Excellent nutrition.

Good Ingredient Profile - Taste Doesn’t work For Me
I have a mixed reaction to this product - raw cacao flavored. I prepared it with what the package directions say is a full serving - 53 grams (26 grams protein). It actually takes 2 heaping scoops to get to 53 grams - I used my digital scale. Each level scoop was roughly 22 grams. I started with the recommended 10 ounces of liquid (unsweetened almond milk) and the resulting drink blended easily and was the consistency of a milkshake - thicker than many powder drinks which appeals to me. I like a more full-bodied consistency. Like so many powders, the taste was very chalky and isn’t particularly good. No real flavor comes through and while it has monkfruit in it there is no sweetness to the taste. It is not terrible - more like a mouthful of a chalky liquid that you drink because you hope it is fairly healthy. I would not use it as a stand-alone drink but some will like it. For me it needs to be doctored with fruit and almond butter - more monkfruit. Which only adds to the expense. I Will finish the canister with half-servings (1 scoop). For the person who noted that there is a sticker on the canister directions for “how to use” that covers over the “one scoop” direction with a 2 scoop label - I will point out that they must have recognized the 1 scoop suggestion gets no where near the 53 gram serving size which was probably the basis for their ingredient analysis. I don’t need that higher level of protein myself but many looking for clean sources of protein will want a reliable 20+ grams. There are a lot of protein products on the market and each of us has to weigh taste against overall ingredient profile. This isn’t my future choice but it will meet many needs.

Switched from Garden of Life
I was looking for an American-sourced, organic, vegan, non-whey, non-soy ingredients that didn't cost an arm and a leg and finally found it in this product several months back. I've tried a LOT of various meal replacement and protein products over the years and switched from Garden of Life (which I used for years) to Pure Food because of GoL's sourcing as well as GoL being owned by Nestle (which is just a horrid company). Let's be clear that none of the vegan options taste like McDonalds shakes, and never will unless a bunch of garbage is put in there with the good ingredients. So you'll need to be realistic and experiment a bit to get it to a point where you can get used to it not being what you think of when you think of a traditional milkshake. I've got one of those Ninja bullet (or nutri-whatever they're calling it now) blenders and I just toss everything in there. Here's my morning shake FWIW (I call it the Healthy Elvis & if you make this in 14-day batches it makes it a WHOLE lot easier): Unsweetened Cocoa Powder 10g Flax Seed 10g Pure Food Real Meal Raw Cacao Meal Replacement 53g Quick Oats 20g Protein Plus Roasted Peanut Flour 10g Om Mushroom Master Blend 6-7g Cinnamon 1g Nutmeg 1/8 tsp or 3-4 grates across microplane Very ripe, frozen bananas 100g Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk 13oz Apple Cider Vinegar, optional 1/4 to 1/2 oz (to taste) Fresh ginger root (don't need to peel or grate), optional 1/4" piece or break off small nub (to taste) Add'l options: Honey Sub Unsweetened for sweetened nut milk Sub Almond for Cashew for a thicker shake
