For the money, this grinder is a genuine value, especially with the extras you get with it. Probably the only downside is that it's corded, but that ensures good power. The quality is excellent, and it is comfortable to hold even at high speeds.

Solid well made grinder for less than 1/2 the cost of "name brand". I got this as my second grinder dedicated to cutting. My other grinder I'm using with flap wheels. Now I don't have to change wheels all the time. Uses same disk change tool, cutting wheels and even the threaded attach nut matches as my old Dewalt. This tool seems reliable, simple, cuts fine and has plenty of power. I did not go with Avid's bigger version because I did not need a heavier grinder. This one is smaller and lighter, plenty of power and easier to fit in tighter spots. The stock cutting disks that come with this unit are thicker than I would use, thicker disks mean more grinding to cut through something. So I will be using my Dewalt cutting disks that fit fine. Also for grinders I do not like battery power. Grinding burns through batteries and battery units are heavier and don't have same power/weight as plug in.

I used this tool with a diamond blade, purchased separately. to cut a section of cinder block and concrete to make room for some conduit. I removed the area cross hatched with chalk in the picture. And you can see before and after. It was not a long project and took less than 30 minutes so I can’t speak to its durability. Nevertheless the tool operates smoothly and cut through the concrete with ease. There are other reviews where the on off switch broke off. Mine did not break but it certainly feels fragile and vulnerable to breaking so I was careful with it. I also gave it four stars vs five for this reason but the rest of the tool feels solid and well made. Given I have only one other small project planned where I will use the tool, this has been a great purchase and I’m glad I didn’t spend additional money on a more expensive option to get the same results.

Update: Customer service is very good and really wants to solve problems. I was sent a complete replacement and am very happy with the Avid grinder. Great tool for the money. Recommend! Original problem: I just opened the box and setup the original grinder yesterday. It was very frustrating trying to get the spindle lock to lock the wheel to tighten the blade. Used it for one cut today and went to check the tightness of the blade and this time the spindle lock button would not work at all. I cannot tighten or loosen the blade, The design is so that debris is blown into the space under the button. I cleaned that out with air and bumping and it was still impossible for even two people to change a blade.. I have contacted the company. I need to get the diamond blade I bought extra and put on it off of it. It is beyond the Amazon return window so I will let you know how Avid deals with it Bought in August so only two months since purchase. Wish me luck!

This is better than expected. It is easy to mount and remove disc. It is very powerful, I was really amazed at the RPM and power. I highly recommend this grinder.

Grinder works as advertised and I would purchase again at this price level. HOWEVER THE POWER SWITCH HAS NO SAFETY TO DEPRESS TO PREVENT ACCIDENTALLY TURNING IT ON. JUST A SLIDE SWITCH EASILY ACTIVATED. Out of the box when I plugged it in it fired off. Fortunately it was on a concrete floor so no harm. No on/off markings.

Strong effective parts. Was able to cut through my car spring in a few minutes. May have done it faster but it was my first time using an angle grinder. I had to watch a video because the instructions were a bit unclear. But everything else was fine.

Great for cutting aluminum and light gauge steel. Also works well on rigid plastics.

Combined with SWIGRANCE 2Pcs Diamond Concrete Grinding Cup Wheels we were able to quickly remove remnants of cement from the tiled kitchen floor. Instead of adding a dust collecting cover we wetted the cement before grinding it., minimizing dust formation. The grinder has a simple, well thought off design. It has only one speed but proved to be very durable.
