Q: Is this brush safe to sterilize in an autoclave? (temps of 274 F)

Don't know, but it is all of moulded soft plastic, the bristles are very thin & fine. At temps of 274F seems like the brush would melt.

Q: Is this a surgeon's hand brush? I have some that look like this but the description indicates another purpose

It is similar to the surgeon hand brush it has soft bristles on the bottom side. Though it does not have the sponge on the top side that most surgeon brushes have.

Q: how do you use this for sensory help/seeking? as a massager on skin such as arms, head, hands? What are some good and therapeutic methods? Thanks!

I have found brushing to be VERY helpful for my child.I do it on her arms, hands, legs and feet followed by some deep joint pressure. My child is very sensitive sensory-wise, so for a calming effect, I only brush downwards... like from the shoulders down and always with firm pressure. Doing it softly will have the opposite effect and cause agitation.You may want to look up the Wilbarger Brushing Technique and also Joint Compressions for more information.
