Happy Mama, Happy Babies Recommend Vitamin Code Prenatal Vitamins
I came here to check one of the ingredients on this prenatal vitamin, which I have used for both of my pregnancies, and I noticed a small string of negative reviews. So, I wanted to add my two cents, even though I usually tend to shy away from reviews. So far as I can tell, these prenatal vitamins have worked really well for both of my pregnancies. Our son is happy, healthy, and bright, and we had an uneventful pregnancy and labor and delivery. Our baby-on-the-way is developing well and is active in the womb. I also want to note that with my first pregnancy, sometime in my first trimester, I ran out of these vitamins and switched to Garden of Life for about a week or so. During that week, I started having painful cramps that were like nothing I have experienced before in my life, and I was genuinely terrified that I might be miscarrying. I told my husband about my symptoms, and he asked if I had changed anything in my routine. I said no at first, but then I remembered the prenatal vitamins. I switched back to Vitamin Code immediately, and within a day I was back to my happy, cramp-free self; from there, I went on to have a healthy pregnancy. So, just a word of caution that it really can make a difference which prenatal vitamins you choose. A few other thoughts: I think the taste of these vitamins are mild, and they're not too difficult to swallow. They do tend to float a little in the water when I take them, so I just take my time and try to relax. For those who are worried about Nestle owning the company now (I haven't verified this, but I will take others' claims at face value), I can say that I notice no difference between when I took these in 2015/2016 and now in 2021/2022. They seem just as high quality as they always were. The only other thing I'll note is that it's good to take an additional calcium supplement with these, especially if you avoid dairy. I hope this review helps and reassures anyone who might be on the fence. These are really excellent prenatal vitamins, tried and true for me, and I am glad to recommend them.

Great product, insane price hike
I love love love this product. I used it for two pregancies, one a single and the other twins. Delivered happy, healthy, brilliant babies. Another bonus was I didn't experience the nausea I felt with the pharmaceutical prenatal vitamins. Loved it so much I went back to it about a year after I stopped nursing just for me, after noticing my energy levels were not keeping up with 3 toddlers. And just like that I was back in the game full of energy again. After all the bottle read for mother and baby, and I was a mother trying to keep up with her babies. Not to mention the perk of healthy long hair and nails. I can go on about this product for days. Now, that price is ridiculous. The price has gone up 3× the amount in the last year. There is a difference between inflation and greedy. The product is great. It sells itself and I know I can't be the only one that recommended it to friends, loved ones, and total strangers. Then you hike the price up on us. A shame and a pity is what I call that. I'll wait for the price to drop. I always have an extra bottle because it's that good. Yayyyyy, the price is back to where us mommy's can afford to eat and take our prenatal vitamins. Now, I can change my review back to 5 stars.

Natural ingredients, great price, no nausea
I really like these Prenatals. The top reason being that I can take them on an empty stomach without getting nauseous, that’s huge! All the ingredients seem very clean and the price is amazing! I tried the more expensive brands but can’t tell the difference so will continue these and recommend!

Great vitamins, not only for prenatal women
I am a 41 year old woman and I have been taking these vitamins for 8+ years. I started with these vitamins when I started to plan to get pregnant. I since had my two kids that are now (8 and 6 years old) and I keep taking them. I tried to take a break for a while and replaced some of the vitamins like vitamin D3, vitamin C, etc. After 6 months of the switch, I did some blood work at a lab and my markers were not as healthy as they used to be. I then switched back to these prenatal vitamins, even though I have absolutely no intention of getting pregnant. I also started getting those to my mom, who is 75 years old. She is very healthy, active, lives alone and independently, and she also likes to take these.

A pregnancy ESSENTIAL- Non-GMO & Gentle on the Stomach
I can't sing enough praises for Garden of Life Prenatal Vitamins. These little gems have been my go-to companion throughout my pregnancy journey, and they've truly exceeded my expectations. One of the standout features of these vitamins is their gentleness on the stomach. Unlike some other prenatal vitamins I've tried, these never caused me any discomfort or stomach aches. It's such a relief to have a product that supports my health and my baby's development without causing any unnecessary discomfort. The comprehensive nutrient profile of these vitamins is another major win. Knowing that I'm providing my body with all the essential nutrients needed for a healthy pregnancy gives me peace of mind. From folate to iron and beyond, Garden of Life has covered all the bases to support both me and my growing baby. Perhaps the cherry on top is the fact that these prenatal vitamins are certified non-GMO. In a world where quality matters, it's reassuring to know that I'm consuming a product that meets the highest standards of purity and sustainability. In conclusion, Garden of Life Prenatal Vitamins have been an integral part of my pregnancy wellness routine. They're gentle on the stomach, packed with vital nutrients, and proudly certified non-GMO. I wholeheartedly recommend these vitamins to any expectant mothers looking for a reliable and holistic way to support their pregnancy journey.

Great Prenatals- but you will need to add other supplements!
Great Organic/Non GMO Prenatals- but you will need to add other supplements! Pros: This is a great product and one of the only food based, organic, non-GMO prenatals I could find. Food based is vital for baby! Cons: They do have a slightly strange flavor (just while you are swallowing them) so I usually try to take them with juice and not water to avoid noticing it. Note: These prenatals are good but are not 100% complete for many moms. They lack many nutrients you need to grow a healthy baby. I did a ton of research on nutrients needed for optimal fetal development and this is what I came up with. (Note: I am healthy woman with no preexisting medical conditions- each mom is different and you should talk with your doctor/ midwife to decide what is best for you). Vitamins recommended in pregnancy (upper limits): -- how much is in the Garden of Life prenatals: Calcium: 1000mg (<2500) – 125mg Choline: 450mg (<3500) -- 0 DHA: 300mg --0 Folate (better than synthetic Folic acid): 600mcg – 800mcg Iodine: 250 (<1100mcg) – 150mcg Iron: 27mg (<45mg) – 18mg Potassium: 4700mg --0 Riboflavin: 1.4mg –1.7mg B6: 1.9mg –2mg B12: 2.6mcg –6mcg C: 85mg (<2000mg) –60 mg D: 600IU (<4000) –1,400IU Zinc: 11mg (<40mg) – 7.5mg Biotin: 30mcg –300mcg Magnesium 360mg –38mg Based on this information, I still needed the minimum of the following nutrients each day: Calcium: 875mg Choline: 450mg DHA: 300mg Iodine: 100mcg Iron: 9mg Potassium: 4700mg C: 25mg Zinc: 3.5mg Magnesium 322mg Note: You get some of this with a healthy diet, but I wanted to ensure I was getting all of it daily for me and my developing baby. So I also take the following supplements each day with this prenatal: 1. New Chapter Whole Mega Alaskan Salmon Oil (wild caught) for my DHA (220mg) https://smile.amazon.com/New-Chapter-Wholemega-Supplement-Astaxanthin/dp/B002FU6I9K/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1474225642&sr=8-1&keywords=new+chapter+salmon+oil 2. Garden of Life Raw Calcium (food based) for Calcium: 756mg; Vitamin C: 50 mg; Magnesium: 386mg https://smile.amazon.com/Garden-Life-Vitamin-Calcium-Capsules/dp/B003L31NM2/ref=sr_1_sc_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1474225696&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=garden+of+life+raw+calc 3. IntraNaturals Choline for Choline 550mg https://smile.amazon.com/Choline-550mg-Pregnant-Cognitive-IntraNaturals/dp/B01A9WLFZC/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1474225230&sr=8-1&keywords=organic+choline 4. Dr. Berg Organic Sea Kelp Supplement (Pure Icelandic Sea Kelp) for Iodine: 500mcg https://smile.amazon.com/Supplement-Capsules-Icelandic-Nutrients-Dr/dp/B01A2IRCZU/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1474224803&sr=8-2&keywords=Organic+Kelp 5. Garden of Life Healthy Blood (food based) for Iron: 28mg (note this is more iron than you need when coupled with this prenatal but when you are making 4-5 pounds of extra blood many women need it - this is different for each woman and you should get your iron tested) https://smile.amazon.com/Garden-Life-Vitamin-Code%C2%AE-Capsules/dp/B0098U0QWA/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1474225734&sr=8-1&keywords=garden%2Bof%2Blife%2Bhealthy%2Bblood&th=1 After all these supplements, I am still short: DHA: 80mg Calcium: 119mg Potassium: 4700mg Zinc: 3.5mg I do get most of this in my healthy diet each day, but just to be safe (and ensure I grow the best baby I possibly can) I also take the following “nonessential” but beneficial supplements each day: 6. Garden of Life raw B-Complex (food based) for extra B vitamins (these give you energy so best to take in the am and you pee out what you don’t need) https://smile.amazon.com/Garden-Life-Vitamin-Complex-Capsules/dp/B0098U0SQO/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1474226074&sr=8-2&keywords=garden+of+life+b+complex 7. Chlorella Spirulina 50/50 Tablet Mix for cleaning out my blood. https://smile.amazon.com/Premium-Chlorella-Spirulina-1250-Tablets/dp/B00FAB10ZI/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1474226153&sr=8-3&keywords=chlorella+spirulina 8. World Organics Ultra Concentrated Liquid Chlorophyll: to give me extra green nutrients, also it has been linked to decreasing blood loss during labor: https://smile.amazon.com/Ultra-Concentrated-Liquid-Chlorophyll-Ounces/dp/B008MOOS2W/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1474226366&sr=8-1&keywords=ultra+concentrated+liquid+chlorophyll Note: I don’t work for any of these companies and am not getting anything for this review. I am just an expecting mom that did A LOT of research of prenatals and nutrients needed for optimal development and wanted to share what I learned. Please talk with your doctor/ midwife to determine what is best for you. Hopefully I can help another expecting mom and you will find this information useful! Best of luck with your pregnancy : )

Best Vitamin Overall
This is a high-quality vitamin. I came across Garden of Life products while researching supplements through ConsumerLab. What impressed me most was that every single Garden of Life product that ConsumerLab tested ALWAYS passed their standards. Have all Garden of Life's products been tested? No. But ConsumerLab is an independent testing lab that depends on membership costs & donations to fund lab testing on supplements. They test for varying factors including but not limited to: absorbability; percentage of ingredients v/s packaging labels; contaminants (such as arsenic & lead - YES that's right ARSENIC & LEAD have been found in supplements), etc. But I digress... the consistency of Garden of Life's positive test results on varied products gives me confidence in their quality & standards. I used to take the Raw Women's Multi and really liked it (One capsule & I was set!) With these, you must take 3 a day. I have been able to take these on an empty stomach consistently. It seems that my body absorbs the vitamins quite well since they don't cause gas, stomach aches, or nausea. Some reviews comment on the smell of the vitamins. I have not noticed the unpleasant smell; but, I try not to take a whiff of any vitamin since they all pretty much smell. If you are unfortunate enough to have one stick to your tongue, the flavor is not the best - yet not horrible. Still, it is hardly the taste -yack- that you get from conventional vitamins. (You all have surely been there!) The good news is, the taste does not linger at all. If you're that concerned, add a lot of lemon to your water; or take it with just enough juice to get them down and follow with the recommended 8 oz of water. I can't comment on the hair & nails as I really don't pay that much attention. Unless they can turn my gray hairs back to their original color, I don't notice. And I keep my nails short - so, there you have it! These really are superb vitamins. I always highly recommend this brand.
