Beautiful Illustrations
A well-made book with gorgeous illustrations. I've been inspired by this artist and when I saw this book, I was thrilled. A great addition to my collection. The book is loaded with sketches for inspiration, with little tips along the way. There is a long bio about the artist, but it has cute drawings with it. Good to use as a reference book to help with original poses and develop creative ideas. I wish there would have been more information on backgrounds, different surrounding and objects included. The focus is mainly on character design, a bit of colour, faces, folds, pets and some proportion information. Hand and legs pages are greatly appreciated as they are harder to master. Overall, a good reference book for inspiration and tips.

For those who needs some direction in their every day sketchings
Love every page of this book. Full with quick and visual advices to support your ideas and creating your own visual library. From observing to character design, from perspectives to how to make your weekend work with family around, you’ve got it all in this little guide with entertaining and stunning sketches all the way through. I totally recommend this book to anyone at any level who sketches every day.

A beautiful, authentic book
I like everything about this book. In addition to some brilliant tutorials, beautiful illustrations and a book that’s just generally quite wonderful to look at, you get the accessible, conversational tone of somebody who shares an intimate view of what it is to be a working artist. It’s a very uplifting read in and of itself, but it’s also excellent at showing the realities of life in a creative industry being balanced with home and family life. I came away from this book feeling good; not just about my art, but feeling a bit less isolated as an artist. Thank you for that.

Absolutely lovely book
One of the most beautifully illustrated and informative books that I have seen in well -ever! This book is fantastic -it is full of useful tips on illustrating and character design -I wasn’t sure whether to get it as I didn’t know if I can sketch every day-I’m very happy to say that it is full of inspiration and useful tips and anecdotes too-simply lovely.

OUTSTANDING
Love it. I like all books by this publisher. Well written book. Great examples. All cartoon style. Broken down into sections like shading, eyes, nose, etc. It’s well made too with a kind of shiny foamy front with a card wrap around with cArtoons on it. And has a marker and an elastic strip to keep what page you’re on and keep the book together tightly and neatly. Really love it. Ideal for beginners or semi pros. Pros would know this stuff.

Amazing art book!
I am absolutely delighted with this book! It has all those extra little details that make a book go from good to great... a ribbon marker, an elastic closure... it has amazing art with great tips and exercises! You can tell so much time and effort has gone into making every detail perfect and I couldn't be happier with my purchase!

Good book
People say they love this or that everyday. But I really do love this book. The advice is from the hip, with no flourishes or frills. Straight up advice from someone who's where we would all like to be, frankly, if we want to have a career in commercial side of the art world. And its illustrated very sweetly and comically from the author's life and experience. Just a pleasure.

Over rated as a book to learn from
I tried to follow this book and gave up, now collecting dust on shelf. It seems more like a biography of the artist/author, and the examples presented are not always direct enough or jump huge steps assuming a level of advancement. Author seem to focus at points on a particular media (digital I think) without clarifying how it could be applied to other media. Or how same effects could be achieved. The author is talented but as an instruction book this is lacking. Frustrating as the illustrations are nice, author is clearly very talented.
