⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Reliable Console Cable for Cisco Gear
I grabbed this StarTech Cisco console rollover cable to manage some older Cisco switches and routers, and it works perfectly. It’s a straight replacement for the original blue Cisco console cable—just plug it into the RJ45 console port and into your USB-to-serial adapter or PC serial port, and you’re in business. The build quality is great for the price—flexible but sturdy jacket, molded strain reliefs on the connectors, and no cheap plastic feel. I’ve coiled and uncoiled it several times already and it hasn’t kinked or frayed. Data transmission was stable with no drops while working in PuTTY for several hours. If you’re in networking, you know these cables are essential for CLI access when everything else fails. Having a solid, reliable rollover cable like this one in your kit is a must. ✅ Pros: 1:1 Cisco-compatible pinout (no weird wiring issues) Durable, flexible, tangle-resistant Plug-and-play for serial console access ❌ Cons: Not USB-native—you’ll still need a serial adapter if your laptop lacks a DB9 port Bottom line: Exactly what you need for console access on Cisco gear—simple, durable, and works every time.

Replaces a frayed Meade ETX 497 handbox cord.
This is the style of cord you need to replace a frayed or damaged ETX cord. It works perfectly although it isn't as pretty as the original coiled cord.

Good telescope declination cable replacement
I use this cable as a replacement declination cable for a Meade LX200 EMC telescope. It works like a charm, and costs about $15 less than what telescope stores want for them!

Love it, inexpensive, correctly pinned out, sold as described and pictured, 10/10 if I needed another rollover cable, I would choose this one.

Extreme Let-Down
Mine doesn't work. Didn't use it until after the 30 day return policy ended. I needed to console to a Cisco router that I purchased and had to resort to setting up an ancient laptop with an RS232 port. I assume the cable is dead. However, I don't have a cable tester to verify. I'm surprised a dead cable was missed. I'll instead purchase an RS232 adapter, rather than purchase another cable, or the adapter. After all, the RS232 to rollover I own actually works.

This is a console cable people - not a network cable. It will not work as a network cable as some people have complained. It is also a Roll Over cable - meaning the wires are reversed on each plug. This is typical for older Cisco devices. If you have a modern Cisco device or other units like 3com, juniper, ubiquity etc, you will need a straight cable. You can convert this to straight by chopping off one RJ45 plug and installing it again, but in reverse order... though using a standard CAT5 or higher network cable will do the same. Once again - this is NOT a network cable people - its console cable (old RS232 DB9 Serial Port days).

It does was it says on the tin, rollover cable used to connect the console port of a Cisco and H3c devices to a Raritan dsx console server.
