VMstr Travel Vacuum Storage Bags with Electric Pump (USB Pump + 8 Combo Bags)

Having used vacuum bags before, I was skeptical of this product. But, as I was limited on space for an upcoming trip, I decided to try them. I liked the idea of a travel pump because sometimes I don't have access to a regular vacuum cleaner, and I'm not a fan of rolling out the air (compression).I opened the package and I was pleased that the bags were the right size for my Monos rollaboard. I loaded up some bags, and used the pump on the first one. It works, but it takes awhile. The nice part about that is it didn't seem to need me to hold it in place, so I was able to go do something else while it did its work.The second bag I lost patience and used my vacuum. Definitely faster and possibly better air removal.Then came the actual test: will it actually hold?we are 48 hours later and the seal is still holding on both bags.

These are worth the hype! They work so well! I had a week long work trip over the winter so was packing heavier sweaters, jeans, etc. I could fit everything for 8 days in my carry on. The vacuum pump works like a dream and the bags stay vacuumed until you open them. I love the various sizes as well!

UPDATE: while I was a bit disappointed in the suction of the travel vacuum and say so below, the fulfilling company’s Customer Service was amazing so I am upgrading my review a bit. Left the below review and out if the blue, received an email from the company offering to correct the issue. Offered a full refund due to my concerns. Wonderful follow up from the seller, would recommend them in a heart beat!Original review: Bought this for work travel - I am always on shorter stints wherein I want to use the overhead sized bag so I don't have to check my bag - thought this might work great for the colder months when I struggle getting 3 days worth of clothes in my bag due to the bulky winter items. This product travels well, small size on it's own so easy to include in my bag without making the situation worse. The vacuum bags also seem to close well and hold their seal. However, the suction leaves a LOT to be desired. At home, when packing, I can use the vacuum to really tamp the size down. But, once in the hotel, the suction machine is not very powerful so unfortunately I don't get the same results. And takes awhile just to get it down to what I can seem to pull off using the little vacuum. Disappointed in that but I kept it, does something to give me space at least.

Air pump worked once at the start of a three trip, went to repack for 2nd leg of trip to find that the air pump no longer works. Leaving me to attempt to squeeze all the air out of the bags in order to repack for the next two legs of my trip.

It does a great job removing air out of the bag. Everything is nice and compact. 2 of the bags I received were defective and didn't stay sealed. I tested dozens of time. The air would be removed but the seal didn't hold and the bag would be puffed up again by 24 hours. Not crazy about the price point either. I wouldn't buy it if I had a choice unless the reduced the price to half, around $15.

A group of friends and I planned a 15 day trek through Italy. So we were determined to travel VERY light. We each had a regular carry-on luggage and a 21qt. Backpack. My boyfriend ordered a a set and I ordered a set. We each took a lot of clothes. Like 20 outfits I think. We were impressed! We mainly used the medium and small bags. The large was too wide for the carry-on. But they were enough! We used to roll up our clothes and with these bags the idea is the opposite. You want the clothing as flat as possible. You will definitely need to make time to use them I think it took us around an hour each time because you have to be somewhat strategic about how many items and what they are. Definitely used our body weight to help flatten and found it easier to pack and squeeze down on the floor. The least amount of folds the better off you are! The little machine was ideal. Compact, not too loud, easy to use. We packed and unpacked almost every other day so we got the hang of it after the first couple of times. I hope it lasts a few more times but for our 15 day trek they were perfect. Life savers actually. I can’t imagine dragging a bigger suitcase than a carry-on. Perfect solution for that.

Sturdy, perfect thickness, good storage space and no weird plastic/ factory smell, my clothes smell like fresh laundry as they should! I travel 3-4 times per month on an airplane. Used them once and a few bags and the vacuum were not working properly so I got replacements immediately from the company and they all seem to work fine. I pre pack and allow them to be in my bag a few days prior to see how well the seals hold up and so far so good. The key is not to over stuff/pack them and push mush of the air out prior to vacuuming it closed. The travel vacuum is really great as well, great suction power. I definitely give this system a 4.5 out of 5.

Out of the 6 bags used 2 stayed compressed, the others lost the compression within a few minutes. If all the bags worked it would have been 5 stars. The compressor is small but does a great job.
