Best Bang for the Buck.
This is my first time using this product. I was looking for a good gun grease and found this. Let's talk about the scent. I wanted something that would not alert dear of my presence. This product has a peppermint smell to it. No hash or strong chemical oder that you get with CLP and other leading brands. Does it clean? Well it pulled debris from the barrel but I would not use it for cleaning. Best to thoroughly clean your firearm first then use this product to lubricate and to protect. Does it lubricate well. Absolutely. My M1A1 and my 1911 have never operated smoother than this. Even with deep cleans and using other brands for lubraction, they always sounded like they were grating or grinding with each action. With this product every action is smooth, no awful sounds. Does it protect? I can say with absolute certainty, yes. After I used this product on my 1911, I left it in my tool shed for two weeks. Not a speck of rust or anything. I strongly encourage you the reader to purchase this product. You will have no regrets. It cleans off easily. Its an oil based product so do not get it on anything that you dont want stained.

Good smelling stuff that isn't poisonous. ...works well, too!
This is great stuff and won't poison you too! I've used this grease for a number of years for its designed application as well as other metal on metal uses. It seems to work best if the mating parts are cleaned and stripped of oils, then applied as directed followed up by a period of time in a warm place to let it 'cook in'. It holds up pretty well, stays put and doesn't weep or run.

Learn how to use this product and you will not use anything else!
Everyone buys FrogLube and uses it like a grease lubricant, WRONG! It is a paste designed to melt over your firearm and harden then wiped off completely. Let me explain... First you need to heat your firearm. Don't be special, I use a heat gun on low, but I know how to not overheat my firearm. Make sure to remove any plastic components if you use a heat gun, or use a hair dryer. Same concept just not as powerful. Heat the metal components up to a warm temperature 110F-120F. Don't use an oven. you will damage your sights. Once the firearm is warm, take the green, wonderfully minty scented paste on the end of a paintbrush and spread it all over the gun. The paste will liquify and spread all over in the nooks and crannies of your frame and slide. Set the part aside and let the product cool. When it cools the liquid turns back into a paste. It dries to the powder residue on your firearm and separates it from the metal. Then wipe it all off. Wipe the firearm clean of the paste with a dry terrycloth towel. When you wipe you are removing excess lube and the dirt, powder, and brass shavings from every crevice, and as you wipe, the lube portion is left behind and rubbed into the metal surface and coating. This is all done with a clean, non-toxic minty smell, so your bags and range gear will not stink of petroleum and ammonia, and it can be done indoors, feet away from your significant other and it will not bother the senses like traditional Hoppe's does. If you learn how to use it and wipe all the excess away the end result is a clean and perfectly lubricated firearm which will be reliable and ready to use! You will never want to use anything else.

Pretty good stuff, good for knives and guns for lubricating.
Good - smells minty and is easy to apply. For guns the grease is good, but don't use too much. I have not done cold weather testing to see how this stuff will change in consistency when it freezes. For knives it is great, and since it is food safe. Since it is grease, you do have to disassemble folding knives to use it on the pivot and assist mechanisms if applicable. I would recommend trying the liquid product if you don't want to disassemble knives in order to lubricate the pivots. I used it on a Kershaw Knockout, which has the Kershaw Speedsafe assisted opening system that utilizes a torsion bar in a pocket milled into the handle. If this pocket does not have sufficient grease in it, the spring will rattle. The Frog Lube Grease has worked well so far, and the knife operates smoothly. The product does not wash away with water, unless the water is very hot, eg the water must be over 100 degrees before it starts to erode the product away, so I think the product would be fine for lubricating tools that will be used in wet conditions as long as the tools receive proper occasional maintenance.

This is a good product to clean, lubricate, and protect your gun.
A friend introduced this product to me at the same time as the flexible viper boresnake. He was an enthusiastic convert, and convinced me to give froglube a try. Well, I couldn't be happier with this product. It seems to do just what it says it will do. I disassembled, heated the metal parts (briefly, in a toaster over), and the froglube melted and spread over the parts like warm butter. After letting it sit a while, I wiped it off. The minty smell is a plus, no chemical odor. And I didn't worry about getting any on my skin, as it is made from organic materials. Anyway, the next day I put twenty rounds through the gun, a Browning 9mm, and after the first magazine, I noticed a shiny film on the parts of the gun which had become hot. The froglube was melting with the heat, providing lubrication, and if the documentation is correct, providing a film which will keep carbon deposits from adhering to the receiver and inside of the barrel. Cleaning the gun after use (with the new boresnake) was a piece of cake, the inside of the barrel seemed spotless after just three passes. This time around I didn't heat the metal parts, but let the lube sit for several minutes and gave the parts just a minimal wipe-off; I wanted to leave some protection as I didn't anticipate using the gun for a while. One by one, I have been field stripping, cleaning and froglubing all my pistols. I will start on the long guns soon. The froglube seems to be pretty economical--a little goes a long way. All in all, I like the fact that it is organic, that it smells good, and that it liquefies with firing heat to aid in lubrication of the gun in use. This is a good product and I will continue to use it.

Quality Product Fairly Priced
Seems a good quality product for areas where typical gun oil will not suffice (O/U hinge, etc).
