I have been using this setup with microscope and fiber light for 2+ years and have been very happy with this microscope and fiber light. We use this in our electrical engineering hardware lab. The fiber light is awesome and really just lights up everything--much better than the small LED lights that go around the perimeter of the main lens. Good illumination is super important. I highly recommend this microscope for doing soldering and fine detail rework. I typically use the WF10X/20 eyepieces and the 0.5X main lens down below where the fiber light attaches. I guess one complaint could be that the fiber light fan is not quiet, but honestly I hardly notice it after a while.
