Three Stars
unit does its job. a bit noisy

Pretty good.
Personally I like to see the reviews of the angry people who purchased these wonderful little coolers and then go bonkers when it just makes the room "like a jungle". For evap cooling you must have lots of air in and lots of air out. I have mineral rich tap water so I am running it with distilled to prevent mineral buildup in the pad. The fan is loud, lots of white noise of the air moving through and around the pad and fins, definitely something you can sleep with though, especially when it is hot. For those poor souls who are angry with this little "like a jungle" machine, send me yours, I will gladly put it to good use.

You Gotta Be Kidding Me
As far as I am concerned .... absolutely useless!! I guess when you are used to real air conditioning this unit just does not measure up. Initially, when we added water and turned on the unit it stunk something fierce. We live in Northern California with an average humidity of 10-15% and after running the unit it added so much humidity that I thought I was in Louisiana. All it does is add noise, humidity and cooling is not even in the picture. We are omitting the water and use it as a noisy fan in another part of the house!!

It works well so far
So far this cooling unit has worked well. We use it in a room that is usually warmer than the rest of the house. It makes the room cooler and blows a lot of air. We use it along with AC, so I'm not sure how well it would cool by itself. I like that it is easy to fill with water, ice, or even ice blocks. It had a funny plastic smell when first used. I don't notice it so much now. Have not yet noticed any dampness in the room, but the humidity here is low in the summer.

but does not cool the air that well
The fan blows a lot of air, but does not cool the air that well.

Looks good and when it works, it does the job, BUT with problems....
MAYBE I GOT A LEMON? The unit puts out adequate air, BUT it LEAKS WATER, down the water curtain and drips down the back of the unit. I tried leveling and even elevating the back slightly, but it still leaked.I had to put it in a metal pan to contain the water and then towel up the water. It won't run longer than 4 hours, even if there's plenty of water. It is quiet and compact, and if those problems were fixed, it would be okay. The seller refunded my whole purchase amount and didn't want the unit back. Maybe that's a problem these units have regularly.

USE AS HUMIDIFIER IN AZ WINTER
This is my second KuulAire unit. I use this as a super humidifier in AZ during the winter. It works great for pushing water into the air and also calls the room down a bit for good sleeping. I've tried tons of humidifiers and can never find one that pushes enough moisture without running out partway thru the night. A relative told me to try one of these and they work great. Pretty easy to clean, do need to order replacement medium after about 3 months. I drain it weekly and use vinegar to give it a deep clean. I have NO idea what it's like as an actual cooling device as I don't use if for that reason.

Works well, but leaked. Easy fix.
After three days of use, mine suddenly changed its sound a bit and started to leak water out of, of all places, the power cord grommet. As it turns out, the water never got close to bare wires or electrical connections, but it got my attention. I unplugged it, removed the three screws in the back and pulled off the back panel and the attached water pad. The hose from the pump runs right along (and is tied to) the power grommet, so it looked like a leak at the top of the hose was the problem. I removed the single screw holding the hose to the top fitting and found that it had been folded under during installation and had inevitably split. I was able to trim off the damaged end, leaving barely enough hose to reattach. I've probably got the same size tubing in my garage, so replacing it would have been easy, too. Before I closed it up, I also retrieved an extra(?) plastic clip and screw from the bottom of the tank. I guess those Chinese kids get tired near the end of their 18 hour shifts, and get sloppy sometimes.

The unit is quite loud and can only effectively cool a sma space, but it's decent for the cost.

Works like a charm for cooling our 15 month old daughters room at out cottage on a hot summer night without ac...I would highly recommend it!!!! Even without the "cooling" feature, the fan works great and with the additional cool system, it gets the room at least 10 degrees cooler!
