If you have cats, you need this!
This little spot cleaner is absolutely perfect for little upchucks from my cats. They both have tender tummies and the occasional hairball. Since these are never deposited on the tile floor, I needed something to clean the spots on the carpet without having to deal with some big, heavy cleaner. I had the Bissell Spot Bot for about 10 years and was happy enough with it, but it finally got so clogged up with hair and carpet fiber, it just wasn't working. Those things are OK, but they are heavy and have long hoses to deal with. This little cleaner works wonderfully well. I must admit, I don't even use the soap and water dispenser feature. If I can get to the spot soon enough, I just pour about a half cup of plain water on it and use the powerbrush feature to lift everything up and then tilt the cleaner up to vacuum the liquid. If the stain has not yet dried, I don't need any spot remover of any kind. Water is enough. If there is need for spot remover because of dye in the cat food or because I didn't see the spot soon enough, I just spray or squirt it directly onto the stain and powerbrush until fully liquid. Then tilt the cleaner up in the back to vacuum everything up.I suppose I could fill the dispenser with water and cleaning fluid, but it's just so easy to go straight to the stain. The best feature of this little machine is that the brushes remove very easily for cleaning after each use. I just remove the brushes and hold them under the bathtub faucet and remove the hair and carpet fibers. The little compartment that holds the dirty water is easily removed and emptied and rinsed. The ability to clean this after each use keeps it from getting icky. This is easily the best solution I have found to the problem of carpet spots! I recommend it for any kind of small spots you may have. It's also lightweight and stores easily between uses.

Wonderful Product!
A five-star rating for an extraordinary product that I am happy to have purchased. The reviews for this product were mostly positive and this is the reason for buying this handheld deep cleaner. I went right to work a couple hours after UPS delivered it to my door. I cleaned a couch and loveseat that haven't been cleaned since 2008 and have to say that it worked well! My furniture looks and smells so much better than it did prior to using it. The water was like the color of chocolate milk so I know that it did the trick.I also took my chance at using it on a spot on the carpet in one of my rooms. It did the trick there too with removing the spot. I used distilled water to prevent any mineral deposit build-up. The price was right for this wonderful piece of equipment that I've needed for so long. When spring comes I will be using it on the carpet in my car too. It is the perfect size for that. The cleaner is very easy to use as the back end pops out and it shows how much Bissell Spot Cleaner you put it...then you add water to the top. You snap the reservoir back into place, plug it in, and pull the trigger under the handle after turning it on. You don't have to press very hard or anything. It works like a charm. Just make sure to not use a lot of water and to go over the area several times to ensure that the water has been extracted from the upholstery/carpet.I would definitely recommend this deep cleaner to a friend!

Not perfect - but the best option I've found so far
I have 9 cats and need something for spot cleaning. I was using a spot bot, but I began to notice that the circles in the carpet weren't because my carpet was so dirty -- it was because the spray was wetting areas (and spreading the dirt) outside where it could suck it up. Yuck! It also leaked like a sieve. So, I looked around and this had the best reviews and stats. So - pros -1. The soap and those scrubby brushes work so well, sometimes the stain disappears before I even try to suck it up.2. It doesn't leak. The cons -1. The cleaner is like using a spray bottle. I'm used to machines where you just hold the trigger and it dispenses the soap solution. This is harder. I tend to spray the area and then use the brushes rather than trying to do both at the same time.2. The suction is difficult and not very efficient. I dispensed the whole amount of cleaner and only sucked up about 1/4 of an inch on the circular area on the bottom. You have to hold it at just the right angle (you can kind of feel when it has sealed enough to start sucking up the water) but it just doesn't do much. You end up using a towel to soak it up.3. The cord is very long and there is nowhere to store it. They did provide a velcro strap to keep it neat. There is a large rectangular block to reset the fuse - which is bulky. Also, the opening to clip the plug to the cord is on the top of the plug -- and it's a 3 prong plug - so you can't have anything else plugged into the outlet if you're using it.4. I have small hands and pulling out the clean or dirty water is hard. You have to grip both sides at the same time. You also have to remove the clean water container to dump the dirty water. For small clean ups, this is the best option so far. I am open to suggestions if someone knows something else. I hate to drag out my large and loud machine for small messes.
