Hi may I check with you if this item is the translucent one or the regular cardboard kind?

2000 piece is cardboard, 1000 piece is translucent plastic.

Is this a actual puzzle made by Disney or is it a knock off?

It doesn't appear to be officially made by Disney, but it is a great puzzle and I would highly recommend it. The pieces are excellent quality. I ordered it from Tenyo because I couldn't find a disney puzzle with 2000 pieces at any stores locally. I couldn't even find something with that many pieces in Disney World when I went this summer.

My bag looked to be opened and taped back shut, is this normal?

No the bag should be sealed, had to return ours as it was not the regular stained glass pieces like my daughters puzzle but regular cardboard
