The FIVE star reviews are HIGH for a reason.
Here comes the pain in my opinion is THE best wrestling video game i have ever played. i dont really care too much for the current wrestling games becuase this one had almost everything i wanted. ***The ONLY NEGATIVE THING ABOUT THIS*** first let me start off that I bought the game when it first came out, but then i guess i played it so much that it just stopped working, so i bought it a second time. my second one stopped working too, so NOW i'm searching for a third one thats not so expensive. I would NOT buy a used one becuase i think for some reason after a while, the game just kind of gives out. its like it will refuse to work if its already been used up or something. Me and even my sister bought used ones and both of them didnt work. so i highly suggest you buy a NEW one. but like i said before, it guess its just one of those games that acts up. its weird. i dont know if its just the games i happen to pick out or something, but yea... the graphics are pretty nice, they are not as great as the current video games but they are pretty impressive. To be honest i only play wrestling games to make up my own created suspertars and then play them in season mode. my sister and I would bend over laughing to death when we wrestle as our own suspertars. i LOVE the created suspertar mode becuase you create your own characters the way YOU want them to be and give them your own moves. there are tones of outfits, accessories and even designs to choose from. The way the characters move, i would give a B+ becuas their bodies move and bend in the way that they should after a move or getting hit with a weapon. when you use a finisher move, jump off the tunbuckle or hit your wrestlers with weapons, the scene will sort of do a blurry slow-motion scene for you. its really awesome. The season is pretty long, and pretty entertaining, i dont think the wrestlers speak in this one, but its STILL really good. you do get to add female wrestlers (even female created susperstars) into season mode, but they can't wrestle, they can only be like a manger, but there is one Match that you can let them have when they are in a rival with another group. The backstage area are fantastic, you get to outside in the streets and climb the building thats across from the arena, there's a parking lot, there are MANY places you can go (its been years since i played the game i can't remember.) Smackdown here comes the pain is THE LAST werstling video game that allows divas and female created susperstars to go backstage. in THIS game the female wrestlers can do just about everything that the male wrestlers can, whether its slobber knocker, hell in the cell, elimination chamber match. i think the only thing they can't do is First Blood. I LOVE the game soo much i wish i had many copies in my posession. i LOVE it!!! The In-ring & Menu themes rock! i like listening to every single of them.

a good fun game
Although this game is old, it still one of the best game for wrestling, PS2, and WWE games. This game along WWE shout your mouth, and then the following 3 SVR 5, 6,and 7 are the best Wrestling game for PS2 console and SVR 07 for difrent consoles. The rest of the SVR series were ok but fail to be as entertaiment as the games I mention before. SVR 08 was kind of a let down because is when thq started to incorporate the fighting abilitys for the wrestles and end up not feeling as good as previous games,. SVR 09 Well although it was the begining of something promising it was also not as good as wwe here comes the pain. SVR 10 again not as good as WWE shout your mouth even so that I like it the best from todays WWE games ( WWE 12, SVR 11)on difrent consoles. So give WWE here come the pain a shot and enjoy playing as Goldberg, Scott Stainer, Kevin Nash, Brock Lesnar, RVD, Kurt Angel, so enjoy it

better condition then i thought
this was byfar the toughest game to get ahold of due to the influx of prices. i use to have this game way back in the day but sadly it was stolen along with a lot of other games. but that's neither here nor there. anywho i started going through my list of games to try to buy all of them back and this was one of them. i received my product earlier then anticipated which is always a good sign. when i received it i tried the game out and it works aside from a few skips during some entrance songs(which is no big deal honestly I'm not petty) the overall experience with the game is fantastic the seller explained it exactly how it looked slightly used and that's what it was. these people are very awesome and for sure will be doing more business with them especially giving the condition the game was in. i appreciate all of the hard work that went into getting the game here and am very satisfied with it. all love i will be back

Screw WrestleMania....Forget Raw...SmackDown! Rules!
SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain, the fifth installment in the SmackDown! Playstation game series, combines elements of all the preceding games, along with things that were not included in WrestleMania XIX for Gamecube and RAW 2 for X-Box. Let's start with Exhibition game play options. You can choose to wrestle in a single, tag team, six-man tag match, handicap, Royal Rumble, or Main Event. If you select Main Event, which many of us will, you will find a plethora of famous WWE gimmick matches. This includes Cage, Elimination, Ladder, Table, TLC, Iron Man, H*ll in a Cell, Last Man Standing, Lumberjack, Street Fight, Submission, Ultimate Submission, Special Referee, and 3 Stages of Hell. But, that's not all. THQ and Yuke's have added three more matches. First blood, Bra & Panties, and the Elimination Chamber. All matches are very similar to their real life counterpart. Going back to the blood, yes blood is included in this game. It is very realistic, and it doesn't come out freely, believe me. Now, to the Season Mode. You can pick any one of the 50+ Superstars to wrestle as (or one of 11 unlockable legends) to take you through a year's worth of wrestling. The Season is based on real storylines written by WWE writers. Even though it only lasts a year, there are ten years worth of storylines implemented. All in all, I thouroughly love this game, and I recommend it whole heartedly to any WWE, or even non-WWE fan.

Copy was damaged
I intended to pay more for what I had hoped would be a higher quality item however it doesn’t work. I honestly just don’t feel like going through the return process to get a refund so I bought another copy. I’ve tried multiple other games on the ps2 I’m trying to run it on and they’ve all worked well but this one refuses to make it beyond the first loading screen and the disc itself is littered with scratches. Appreciate the fast shipping as it arrived promptly as well as it having a very well preserved case and booklet though the copy off the game i received won’t work no matter what I do.

Great Game but not Perfect
Yes you're right, It's 2012 and I'm still reviewing this game. Well I've heard that it was the best wrestling game ever so I decided to give it a try. Now to the pros and cons. PROS: 1. To me the gameplay is very smooth, moves look very good and realistic for a ps2 game. 2. Characters look like their real life counterparts with a few exceptions such as Shawn Michaels' upper body looking very large compared to his lower body during his entrance. 3. Plenty of matches to choose from such as elimination chamber,TLC, hardcore, bra & panties etc. 4.Gimmick matches go by way faster which is a nice supplement to SvR gimmick matches taking FOREVER to finish. Table matches take about 5 minutes on hctp compared to like 15 minutes on SvR. 5. Plenty of characters to choose from such as Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Brock Lesnar, The Rock, Goldberg and many others including legends such as Roddy Piper, The Road Warriors, Sgt.Slaughter and a few more. 6. Season mode is very entertaining with many twists and turns plus you can choose ANY wrestler (with a few exceptions) which is way better than sloppy and very uncutomizable RTWM in SvR games. There are cons of season mode so more on that later. UNDECIDED: 1. I received the game 3 days ago so I have not had the opportunity to use create a wrestler. CONS:1. There is NO commentary whatsoever. Sound is pretty crappy as in season mode it plays the same song over and over and over and over again and there are no VoiceOvers in season mode. Wrestlers themes are ok but the legends don't have music on their entrance! So basically I play this game with my t.v. on mute. 2. Season mode can sometimes get very annoying! I started a season with Shawn Michaels and I put him as a heel on raw, little I'd I know guys like Steve Austin, Kane, Goldberg, Triple H, and RVD were faces on raw so I had to face one or two of them every week! Another thing that bit me was weight detection. As Shawn Michaels I couldn't lift Kane so every time I had to face him I would have to specifically find grapples that didn't lift him. Plus if you do a season mode you better be a guy with high strength like Brock Lesnar or goldberg. Shawn Michaels starts out with 7.5 strength so it took me about 7 sweet chin musics to beat guys like Goldberg and Kane. Also at one time Mr.McMahon says that I'm like the best in the company and he supports me and takes me out to a pre-celebration dinner before I won the world championship at survivor series. The very next night he says that I don't deserve to be in the main event of wrestlemania so he makes me face Steve Austin and Kane at the next ppv? So, overall this is a pretty good game but it does have flaws so I would give it a 8.7 out of 10.
