My Best Buy of 2024!
Fantastic bit of kit! Heats fairly quickly and masses of drying space. Far cheaper than the tumble dryer to run than the tumble dryer, and much better with the addition of a cover (I bought a cheaper version, and it does the job). I can put it away in the summer when I can dry stuff outdoors. Managed to get even a large duvet dry in 12 hours, bedding no problem, just drape the biggest item over the top and put the cover on, dry overnight. Best thing I bought last year - have had a year's service from it, before leaving this review. Wouldn't be without it now.

Expensive but worth the money
I’ve had this heated airer for a month now and I must say I’m really happy with it. I have a 10kg washer and the airer takes the load with ease. It’s light weight and easy to put up but the clips which hold the shelves up are a little flimsy so be careful with them. I also bought a cover for it and I must say it works a treat with it on. A full load with the cover on takes around 6-8hrs to dry and to run it costs around 6p per hour. I have this in my kitchen and when it’s on it also heats the room up as well! When it arrived it did have a few marks on which I noticed while unpacking but nothing major. All in all I think it’s a little expensive for what it is, £109 for the airer and £30 for the cover but that aside it does work a treat. I would definitely recommend getting the cover for it as it shortens the drying time and also covers it nicely when packed away.

Pretty happy with this
Bought this as I was so sick of it taking days and days to dry things in this weather, and there are some things that just can’t cope in the tumble drier. It’s a great product, dries things really quickly. Really easy to put up, no “assembly” required which is a bonus for me. Pretty cheap to run. It does take up quite a bit of space when up and in use, but it does fold down fairly compact when not using.

Excellent airer.
Very efficient and folds away nicely. Plenty of room for clothes.

Glad to have it in the winter
Useful for use in the winter. Drape a large item such as a towel or sheet over the top to keep heat in. Find it quicker to lay items flat over the rungs as what is hanging down doesn't dry and need to adjust items after a while. Certainly saves the cost and time of drying at the launderette.

Initially great but plastic hinge part melted & broke after 1 month exposing wires
Until today I would have given this Airer 5 stars. I’ve had it for 1 month. I was impressed by the capacity, drying ability, cost-effectiveness & ease of storage once folded. Having read other reviews before buying I wasn’t surprised that it was lightweight and slightly flimsy in construction. As long as it was sturdy enough to take my washing and the racks heated well enough to dry them faster than a non heated Airer I was happy. It met my expectations for the first 4 weeks. A few reviewers had commented on the plastic hinge breaking. I assumed they had simply been too heavy handed when opening out the racks. So I was very careful when unfolding and folding the racks for storage, putting absolutely no pressure on them at all. And equally careful when putting clothes on the Airer to dry, placing them carefully and gently on the bars. Today I removed a 1/2 load of washing from the Airer which hadn’t even filled all the racks. When I came to folding it again for storage the middle rack didn’t seem to swivel as easily as it had previously. I didn’t try to force it in any way. I just looked to see where it may have caught. Imagine my surprise and disappointment to find that, despite my careful handling, one of the side hinges was not fully attached to the side bar. The plastic bolt holding the rack in place was completely loose, had broken away and simply slid out, exposing the wires. On closer inspection it seemed that part of the plastic bolt casing had slightly melted, causing the hinge to break apart. I don’t use a cover, so the heat from the bars should simply have been the normal drying heat, not an intensified heat from being enclosed. I now cannot use this Airer. I am genuinely sad about this as I thought I’d found a really great solution to drying clothes over the winter. Black & Decker is known brand with a good reputation. Because quite a lot of reviews are positive I thought maybe I’d received a rogue item from a faulty batch, so decided I’d try a replacement rather than a refund. There is nowhere at all on the Amazon site (that I can find) where I can request a replacement. It’s a refund or nothing. And having read some reviews with dreadful stories about their refund experience for this product this is really not the route I want to go. I need an alternative drying option now, not in several weeks as, if and when Evri ever turn up. Hopefully Amazon or Black & Decker will read this and resolve this quickly for me. I’ll come back and update this review once I have a resolution - or not. And if I do receive a replacement item I’ll review it after using so I can provide an informed review for others on whether my item was a rogue faulty one or this product in general should come with a “buyer beware” notice. Hopefully it will be the former.

Very Useful and Saves Money Long-Term
This isn't cheap, so I had to crunch the numbers. At the moment, on the electricity rate I'm on, this works out at 9.27p per hour. Less than half the price of running 1 radiator, and when we turn the heating on, 3 come on. So it's actually 6x cheaper for me. With the money I save from using this as opposed to turning the central heating on, it will take me 50 hours of run time to pay itself off. To address comments about its sturdiness, yes it may wobble slightly, and I mean slightly, but it is very light weight and I much prefer that than having a solid heavy metal thing. The prongs get so hot you can only keep your finger on them for like 5 seconds before you have to take them off. That is how hot it gets. But that is at the highest end. The temp doesn't remain consistently that hot. It does fluctuate a little. I've not worked out what causes that fluctuation. Whether it senses loads of clothes that are wet and gets hotter, or whether it's just the product performance itself. The best thing to do for me is to put clothes on and leave it going over night. The clothes may not be completely dry in the morning if you have a thick hoodie or something though. Love it! 8/10
