We've had a 12'x30" Intex for years, since 2015. That pool actually was pretty durable and just recently started rusting out. I would take it down after summer. Last summer my 13 year old son would stand up and his knees would be above the water line. This year we got this pool and it is a great size for the whole family of 7. It is built just like any Intex pool. They are high quality parts but still inexpensively built. There is no hard metal outside sheet like a traditional pool to protect the liner, but the liner is heavy built. After filling it up there was a small pin hole leak in the pool which I fixed with gorilla clear underwater patch tape. I don't think the pool came with the hole. I'm pretty sure a kid was hitting the pool with something sharp. However there has been no leaks since. My wife and I were concerned about our 18 month old twins climbing the ladder and falling in the pool. Those little guys get everywhere and fast. My daughter suggested taking a step out of the ladder. Which I did. From day 1 both little guys tried to climb the ladder as expected. However after a few failed attempts they have gone all summer without caring to climb up. So a success there. If you're concerned it's an easy free fix. I plan on leaving this pool up and draining down below the skimmer each winter. Hopefully that works out. Review: Seriously the best investment I've ever put in my backyard - Update 05/27/2022: This pool has now been in operation for a couple seasons, and it's still doing GREAT. I had to replace the plates in the chlorinator, and refill the sand in the filter once, and that's it for the heavy maintenance. The water is still crystal clear, the FAFCO heating pad is still kickin, and my kids are still loving the pool. Still absolutely no regrets with this purchase. I was leary at first. Above ground pools are something the Uncle Eddie has in Xmas vacation, that you could imagine him jumping off his RV into. But I live in the South West, where the sun doesn't care if your pool is below above or levitating - the heat spares no one. Instead of investing $80k or more in a fancy pants pool, I spent a fraction of that on a 24' diameter Intex pool and it has been the best money I've spent that I can remember. Super easy to setup - I did it with one person. I already had a flat large area to place it, so all the real hard work was done. Filled it up (took about $350 in water), and then realized that it was going to need two more things to be perfect. I picked up a Chlorinator - also made by Intex - so I wouldn't have to deal with chemicals. I mixed in the salt as directed, and it's been producing chlorine ever since (one and a half seasons later). You can't tell there's salt in the water, and you can't tell there's chlorine either - but my test kits always put it in the proper range (2-3ppm). The second item was a heating mat. I setup the pool at the end of the season, so the sun was already losing some of it's potency here. But at the start of this season, I REALLY noticed it. I have the 4' x 20' heating mat you can get here on desertcart, and it works great. Since the sun started cooking the southwest, my pool has been a steady 80-85 degrees all day long. Maintenance is extremely low. I added a skimmer (the one where you have to actually cut the liner to put in - a littte nerve wracking BUT VERY worth it!!!) and it keeps the surface spotless. I've gone through a couple of pool vacuums (stay away from the Intex one!) and I've settled on a rechargeable one that you just drop in the pool. It takes care of all the big and medium debris that lands at the bottom, but the fine debris has been more of a challenge. A brush with a suction port that ties into my skimmer has solved that problem - I put the pump into bypass and just let it go into the planter. Really the only thing that takes a bit of attention is maintaining the pH level. I find I'm constantly adding the pH lowering chemicals to keep it around 7.6 - 7.8. Not difficult, I just need to not forget to do it. Overall, I probably spent about 3k on everything (pool, pump, chlorinator, heating pad, light, vacuum - x2, did I mention not to get the Intext one? - skimmer, misc hoses and stuff)... and it's been worth every cent. My kids and I absolutely love it, and it's made living in a hot climate so much more tolerable.

Looking forward to a hot summer for once
We are so happy with our purchase so far. This pool is plenty big for our purposes and was well within our budget. It took more than 60 minutes to set it up but it wasn't terrible. There were four of us working. We are fortunate to have a flat concrete slab in the back yard that was just large enough for this pool so I can't comment on leveling dirt, etc. The concrete is pitted though so we bought an extra pad to put under it to make it a bit softer against any potential sharp edges. The sand filter is nice. We've used traditional filters in the past on a much smaller pool and this seems like it will be easier to maintain in the long run. Pros: big, assembly is doable, cost not prohibitive, if we ever get tired of it we can take it down. Cons: the ladder is steep and rickety. We built a deck and bought in-pool stairs to attach to it instead. Getting all of the wrinkles out of the liner before adding water is nearly impossible. Unknown: Durability - I've read some negatives about rust and leaks but it's too soon for me to know about that. I hope I'm not sorry.

Easy to setup. Leveling is the hardest part. The absolute best thing about this pool is how it heats up and retains the heat. My previous 16ft pool would very rarley get to 80 and would normally sit at 75. This pool rarely goes below 80 and sits at 85 most of the time.

It only took a few hours for my husband and son to put it together. Very happy and satisfied with it. The only thing is putting the last piece in. Have fun.lol

Just received this pool, went through leveling the ground setting up pool, we start adding water and noticed the leak at the bottom seem, I am so upset and disappointed after all this hard work and now having to deal with this issue. Try getting help from manufacturer is also a joke just like this pool turned out to be!!! Please don't waste your money or time, especially your time because leveling the ground is lots of work and it feels like it was all for nothing at this point.

This pool is absolutely amazing! It's huge and just the right size for all of our kids and parents too!! Easy to set up once we had a later of leveled sand and stone down. Just a note, the filter doesn't come with sand. We had to buy two 50lb bags.

This pool is awesome. It's huge and well made. The sand filter and pump make having a pool this size so easy to maintain.
