This rope is the perfect diameter for climbing. The manila construction provides good grip. One overhand knot takes up 14 inches of rope and I like to make a knot every 2 feet. If your hanging this on a tree limb out door you will need some kind of a tree strap and a rope anchor which I buy separately (look for Valor Fitness BR-Clasp Rope Clasp for Climbing Rope).
