I was under the impression it worked on natural colour. I have mousey blonde hair and it didn't look any different

The product itself is great. It has a thick consistency with no harsh smells nor did it stain my hand but again I purchased for a Golden blonde finished. I am sure the richer and deeper the color is, it will most likely stain your hands or shower. Like I said love the product did not cause me any dryness or straw like hair. I did wash my hair with regular shampoo first and then left the product sit for 5min like instructed and condition it like normal. The only thing I hate is how small the bottle is for the price. It will not last long unfortunately.

This is great product - as always, I found what I was looking for on Amazon. I have grey hair and dye it dark blonde once every month or so. After a couple of weeks after I dye my grey, after several washings, the color starts to "fade" and hair looks kind of washed out. I was looking for a gentle product (nothing with harsh chemicals or a dye) to add some body and color. This plant-based shampoo was PERFECT! I found a dark blonde similar to what my hair looks like after I put the dark blonde dye in. This shampoo has the color infused in it and is very gentle and smells great. You do not need to use a lot of shampoo - just a little applied to wet hair, leave in a couple of minutes (Amazon has "how to" video). It LOOKS GREAT! Adds a little color and a lot of body. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

First off, I only actually take the time to write a review if a product was really great or really horrible. This was sadly the latter. It dried out my usually normal to oily hair SO badly that it actually felt like thick straw — even tho I used TWO high quality Redken deep conditioners afterwards, because I did read some reviews stating it dried people’s hair out. I used Redken All Soft Heavy Cream deep conditioning hair mask afterwards, and followed that up with the Extreme Lengths mask from the same line. Anyone who has ever used either of these products know what heavy duty moisturizers they are, especially the Heavy Cream. So I was well prepared for the potential dryness of this product & thought I’d be fine because those other reviewers probably hadn’t used TWO deep conditioning masks afterwards. And I left the masks on for 20 minutes too. Well, crap. This stuff is no joke. I can’t really speak to the color depositing aspect of this shampoo because I only used it once & it didn’t do much. It may have added a bit of warmth, but I was very distracted by the horrific state of my hair. For reference, I got the sunstone blonde color, to add a little warmth to my icy blonde hair for the fall. Big mistake. My hair literally looked like I got electrocuted. It was not only extremely dry, but also very rough & thick feeling, if that makes sense. If you’ve ever used Sun-In when you were younger, that’s what it kind of reminded me of. Like if you sprayed a ton of Sun-In or peroxide/lemon juice on your hair & let it air dry. I’m 39 and have been coloring my hair since I was in middle school. I’m a huge hair & beauty product enthusiast since I’m a former MAC makeup artist. So I’ve experimented with a TON of various color depositing products over the years. This is the absolute WORST. I definitely don’t recommend this shampoo, if that wasn’t already quite clear. 😆 * A color depositing product I DO recommend is IGX color depositing mask. It’s not only wonderful at depositing great color, but it’s a deep conditioning mask too, and it does wonders for hair!

I have light sandy blonde hair with natural highlights and a good bit of gray at the top front of my hair. I was hoping to tone down the gray and heighten my natural highlights. I didn’t see any difference at all after using it and the conditioner is awful. I borrowed a bottle of red and was very impressed at how easy it is to use, it doesn’t stain the skin or the shower where I wash my hair. The color wasn’t overwhelming and it has lasted over 3 weeks. I tried the red conditioner but it has the same drying effect as the other color. If you’re looking for a fun temporary change the bright color shampoo is the way to go, just skip the conditioner and use your own.

I'm perplexed, because if I had gone off the reviews ......I would have missed out. Got this 'poo in morning, left on my bleached hair that was white and aging me and bam. It was like a natural blonde color. Who would want to tone hair with harsh chemicals that will just wash out anyway? Just use this shampoo ..... If longevity is an issue I will update. People talked about how drying it was, a thick layer on hair?? Um, no? Just like a normal shampoo. They said it didn't work(?), but it clearly is not for natural silver hair- its for bleached hair. I was so gray, and now... I'm sunny. I finally made a good choice after a swing of horrible ones and my hair looks good. Update: It is drying. But the color is long lasting.
