VIVO steel desk accessory mounts are the way to go for a vertical work space.
I needed to extend a post up to mount a couple of laptops above my 32" monitor. This post did the trick. Like all of the VIVO accessories, it is solidly built and relatively easy to install. I do wish they would standardize their mounting plates, but that doesn't apply to this pole. Anchored to my extremely heavy powered sit-stand desk, I don't have to worry at all about my monitors crashing down.

this DOES fit STAND-V001
I first thought the holes in the post and the screw size weren't going to work with my V001 base clamp, but the instruction sheet has a note about removing the plastic plug from the other (top) post and there's another welded insert there to match the STAND-V001. I used two pipe sections and this allows me to stack two monitors.

Update-Hardware from STAND-V002 does not match
Remove end cap and switch sides if threaded holes are too small. Unsure if I misread or missing in instructions... Would consider updating to make more clear/harder to miss. Works great now

The Perfect Stand for Extending a Current Monitor Mount
My office desk was in need of additional monitors for massive multitasking during work. I originally purchased a dual monitor set that included control arm kit. However, I found the mount was too small and it would be better if I could structure them above my current monitor. I found that VIVO had this compatible, tall stand pole that would easily provide a solution to my needs. Upon setting it up, I was easily able to structure the dual monitor setup directly above my current large monitor, which provides a lot of value for the cost. My only reservation about the tall stand pole was that the instructions weren't clear about part of the assembly, to which I can see why it may get returned a lot. There is a plastic cap on one of the included poles that must be removed to access the hole where the other poles get screwed onto. Once I figured that out, the installation was smooth.

Very sturdy
These are rock solid, and the ability to pick how high you want them is great. They installed pretty easily (read the instructions, they help a LOT), and never wiggled once after being installed. Taking them down was just as easy. Worth the money!

Works Well
I needed a taller pole for my Vivo desktop monitor mount, to raise the monitor higher above my desk. This worked great. It comes in three pieces that screw together, however 3 was too high for my use case. So, I figured out that I was able to use only two pieces, which was perfect for my situation. Very happy with the result and how sturdy it is.

It works, but expect to make modifications
The Good: ---------------- The pole is easy to assemble and sturdy. You should know ------------------------- If you are buying this for a STAND-V002 monitor stand (and likely others listed as compatible) the included pole with that stand is not threaded. If you are buying this to extend the range of the stand you will need to tear it down completely, install this pole, and reinstall the whole thing. This is unfortunate, because had the base pole included with the STAND-V002 been threaded this kit would have screwed on in minutes instead of hours (more below). The Bad: ---------------- The base pole uses a stabilizer plate at the bottom. It is NOT included with this kit, so you must recycle the base plate from the stand kit. That presents two problems: 1) The monitor stand has you put an adhesive pad on the bottom of the base plate to cover the screws. This will need to be cut and partially removed to transfer it. This step is not in the instructions. Below applies to a through surface installation. I did not try the clamp mount, so I cannot tell you if they apply there as well. 2) The three screws provided with the monitor stand do not fit this base pole. Properly sized screws and a base plate are not included. The pre-tapped holes in the pole are smaller and set farther out, so you will cannot retap them to fix it. This means a trip to the hardware store. 3) If you do not use the three screws the pole will rotate with very little force. This means your monitors and/or keyboard mount will rotate around the pole and out of position. This also means that the through desk mount will work lose eventually, likely causing catastrophic failure. 3) Because the bolt patterns do not align, the screws you use will be in at an angle. This requires some force to seat and can break your screw. It also means that the screw heads will be proud of the base plate and will dig into your surface. All of this could have been avoided, and would have reduced the manufacturer's cost of goods if they had simply threaded the STAND-V002 base pole as the did this one. Or included this base pole with the STAND-V002 monitor stand.

Vivo extender pole
I purchased this for use with a STAND-V002. When I received it, it appeared it would not work with the intended stand. I called Vivo to inquire when a very nice customer support lady let me know to pull the cap off the other end. I thought it was just a cap rather they very cleverly designed this pole to work with a different screw arrangement of their bases. That opposite end was what I required. So the lesson learned here is, if you are reading this, be sure to look on the other end! It’s a three piece pole that screws together.

I'm 6'4". I already had a Vivo monitor stand but it was just a bit short to get the two monitors to eye level. Then, I bought a new chair with an extra set of rollerblade wheels : it lift the chair for like one inch and the screens were too low. The item come in 3 parts so I used 2 of those and NOW, it's perfect.

I bought this item to use with the VIVO free-standing dual monitor stand, as the standard 18 inch high pole was nowhere near high enough for my needs (I am over 2m tall). I was pleasantly surprised to find that the pole ships in three separate sections, and its possible to use just two of them which provides a good middle options between the standard 18 inch and the extra tall 40 inch poles. I haven't measured the exact height of the pole when just the two sections are used, but I suspect it's roughly 25 inches (about two-thirds of 40 inches). In any case, it's tall enough for my purposes and would almost certainly cater for users taller than 7 feet (2.13m).

Good product. Suggest that they should offer and shorter on just two poles versus the three. Just need my monitors a bit higher as I'm 6' 6". Loving them my back feels better as. Not leaning back so much. Even bought on for home.
