Brisling Sardines, Smoked In Olive Oil, 4.23 Oz - Pack of 12

My very favorite sardines for everyday use. Love them with a squeeze of lemon and a sprinkle of fresh ground pepper and salt, or crisped up in a skillet and eaten as a quick nibble, or even a super quick bisque with a bit of broth, some cream, a few herbs and some lemon, whizzed until smooth and heated through….so quick and delicious after a long day of cold drizzle. All so satisfying and healthy! I used to eat them on crackers with a dab of sour cream or mustard but discovered that I can’t eat most grains but you probably can! Try it like that and they are irresistible! Some of the lovely Portuguese and Spanish tinned fish are the very best but the price is pretty spendy. These are a great alternative for those of us that love sardines that are firm, delicate in flavor and affordable. I’m not a paid sponsor, just a dedicated fan! I highly recommend these!

Best sardines on the planet. SOLID fish. Not a mushy mess. Delicious. Easy opening tab so your hands do not get oily while opening tin. These are the only sardines to buy. Highly recommended

The absolute best I have ever tasted. Sardines are high in protein and an excellent source of creatine for cognitive health. Not too salty and just plain delicious!

The flavors are great, good size. The bad, the guts aren't completely out of some. Don't really notice if you shut your eyes

There is enormous variety in the sardine market. You simply don't see large sardines any more, due to intense over-fishing. The variety of sizes you do see range from the very small — these, through small — those you see on grocery shelves — to medium, as I have only found in the Wild Planet Wild Sardines in Extra Virgin Olive Oil Lightly Smoked. These MW Polar Brisling Sardines are ideal for making a sardine on cheese pizza at home, if you either fully make your own or can find Freschetta's Five-Cheese pizza; or even a Domino's cheese pizza and then heat it in your oven to melt these in! I highly recommend adding black olives, too, and possibly scallion onions, as complements to the fish. Who doesn't grill fish with onions, and baste them with butter? Same effect, only on a cheese pizza. These aren't all salty, like the sardines packed in water! If you have ever had a sardine pizza before and it wasn't in California, then you probably had the salt-experience of a salt-soaked pizza topped with unwashed salt-packed sardines, which is quite enough to ruin the experience for anyone! If, on the other hand, you have enjoyed some butter-fried or grilled fish with onions, and you enjoy a good cheese pizza, then give my recommendations a try!

Best sardines ever! Very flavorful and do not have a fishy taste. Just be careful when taking the first can out. The packing tape peeled the cover of the can and I got oil on the countertop.
