Product Description Hung: The Complete Second Season (DVD)HBO® presents the Season Two premiere of Hung®, the hit comedy series from Colette Burson and Dmitry Lipkin (The Riches), and starring Thomas Jane, Jane Adams and Anne Heche. Set in the (still) recession-plagued suburbs of Detroit, Hung continues to revolve around the unorthodox efforts of divorced teacher/coach Ray Drecker (Jane) to generate extra cash – by selling his “winning tool” to desperate women.]]> desertcart.com In its second season, HBO's Hung continues to explore the dark side of the American Dream--with humor--through one of TV's odder couples. After losing his house and facing the end of his teaching gig, Ray Drecker (Thomas Jane) is trying to get his life back on track. In his off-hours, he doubles as Richard, a happiness consultant. His handler, Tanya (Jane Adams), tries to bring in more clients, but business partner Lenore (Rebecca Creskoff) proves a formidable opponent. Meanwhile, Ronnie (Eddie Jemison) wants to have a baby with Jessica (Anne Heche), and twins Darby (Sianoa Smit-McPhee) and Damon (Charlie Saxton) are still bickering. While Ray is entertaining the ladies--including the married neighbor with whom he's having an affair--fellow baseball coach Mike (Clark Gregg) is going through a midlife crisis of his own until he meets Frances (Chicago Hope's Roxanne Hart, very good), a widow who thinks he's also a gigolo, a situation Tanya complicates when she takes advice from veteran pimp Charlie (Lennie James). Says Tanya to Ray after Damon (accidentally) tries his first pot-laced pastry, "I'm good in a crisis." Replies Ray, "You are a crisis." If Hung remains engaging, the second year doesn't make as much of an impact as the first, though Jane and Heche continue to do fine work (Creskoff and Adams come close to caricature at times). As a whole, the series, which was renewed for a third year, feels like it's in a holding pattern, with the exception of Damon, who becomes less off-putting and more sympathetic as he forms an identity separate from his sister, who resents his success. The most notable guest director is Lisa Cholodenko (The Kids Are All Right), who helms "Beaverville," in which Jess spots a furry creature--the four-legged kind--in the basement. --Kathleen C. Fennessy Review: A must see!!! - I started watching this one evening with the sole thought, "Oh well, why not... Let's see how horrible this is..." and I ended up being pleasantly surprised. This is such a fun and compelling show. I was hooked by the third episode, and I have to admit that it is primarily due to Jane Adams' performance: soooooo good. And I was surprised by Thomas Jane's performance as well. This is a great show about life, really: what do you do when you lose it all (e.g. marriage, children, home, and eventually job...). There are some moments that are so powerful and moving, and other moments when I find myself laughing out loud. Great show! Review: Thomas Jane ... Woof! - As a proud, open admirer of the beauty of men I am enthralled with Thomas Jane. He alone rates 5 desertcart stars. I would imagine that straight women find the title arousing as any gay man would. In addition to the sexually charged atmosphere of the show; it is also extremely well-written, realistic, funny and entertaining. The supporting actors are perfectly cast, especially Jane Adams as Ray Drecker's (Jane) quirky female pimp. I've yet to order the third, and final, season. I'm sure they don't show just how much Thomas Jane is packing, but one can dream! Bon appetit! "... grows more penetrating with every episode..." - Slant Magazine "... beguiling, bitterly funny, exhilarating..." - The New York Times

Good stuff, good acting
Not quite as good as season 1, but still amusing. The entire premise of the show (that a large wanker is all women want) is faulty. Size doesn't really matter. Your biggest sex organ is between your ears. But, that being said, I think this series is funny and depicts real everyday problems that ordinary people can relate to. I'm not sure where they are going with the odd twins, maybe nowhere, but I've sort of been expecting that some issues there will be resolved. Good character development although I didn't like how Tanya starts consulting with a proper pimp. That was unrealistic and I expected Tanya to grow a backbone more than she did. However, the Anne Heche character is growing one. I'll definitely watch season three. I'd never heard of Thomas Jane before watching this but I think he did a great job. Don't watch if you're a prude, or have kiddies around.

First season was funny. As with all comedies
First season was funny. As with all comedies, it started to lag in the 2nd season and is more of a drama than a comedy now. Still fairly entertaining but not as sharp as it started out.

Funny Stuff!
This show continues to get better with more episodes. The character development is very good, the plots are fun, and there are moments I just want to strangle one of the characters. It's funny who you want to defend and who you want to slap around! Funny stuff!

Then there is all the other stuff between grownups with families and marriages and your kids are like really odd because they do
It is not so pornographic as it is odd when it comes to human needs for money and how sex can make money if you have a.....well......kind of big one and you think you know how to use it. Then there is all the other stuff between grownups with families and marriages and your kids are like really odd because they do not come out like you wish (over even within the gene pool of you and your wife)..........so................it is funny and it is sexy at times but one thing.............is there a 'first love" in this series.......I am not sure.....but that energy would explain it all. For me I know that one......have lived it.....have suffered it......and went and found my first love and brought her back to me......ok, truth said......I know how to use it......just never wanted or needed to make money with it. So this guy......he is..........and what? Shall wait to see what happens. <grin>

Outstanding! So much more than its title implies, ...
Outstanding! So much more than its title implies, it is a poignant and amusing examination and commentary on marriage, the parent-child relationship, as well as the subtle (and not-so-subtle) beneath-the-surface romantic and, yes, sexual interplay between men and women. It is a shame this series did not get renewed by HBO. . .

It was a very interesting series did not where it was going to go next.
