I've been injecting insulin for 17 years. I test my blood 7 or 8 times a day. I've tried every lancet device on the market and this is by far the best. By best I mean it painlessly gives you just the right amount of blood needed for the test strip. Every time. I know it's expensive compared to the other brands, but it'll hold up for 2 or 3 years. It's designed with guides that enable the needle to go straight in with no side to side wobble. That's why it hurts less. (actually it doesn't hurt at all.) By the way, I've met a lot of diabetics who didn't know that you can test on your knee. I've compared tests taken at the same time on my knee and my finger and always find them within 5 or 10 points of each other which is close enough. Testing on the knee is 100% painless.

Item was used and bloody, broken and disgusting~!!!Probably a health code violation in any state~!! Very dangerous also.Expired items inside, as well as prescription for someon else~! Ugh~!!

I bought this to replace a 5+ year old Accu-Chek lancing device that had given good service, but finally broken. The replacement doesn't have a separate "cocking" button at the end and release trigger near the front (like my old version, and the one shown on the picture of the box in the Amazon listing), but rather a single button at the end that alternately serves both functions, like the button on a retractable ballpoint pen. The new one takes the same lancets as the old one (Softclix), and the new one is just as handy and durable as the older version. So don't panic when you open the box and see something different, it'll work just fine.

If you are a diabetic and have to prick your finger (or arm) several times a day, this was invented for you. I really love this clever little gadget. First off, it is a good standard, adjustable auto lancet which works just great and is easy to use. BUT there is more! Lots more! Tired of chasing down those lancets, loading them in one by one and the trying to find a safe way to dispose of them? Forget about it! This device uses a completely self-contained little drum that holds 6 lancets. You load once and then you have 6 shots without reloading! It's a six-shooter! The needles are completely enclosed inside the drum and safe. After use, you'd need a hammer and a very determined 5 year old just to get anywhere near exposing the lancets. Very safe, very secure, very convenient! Very clever design!

I ordered two lancet devices but received two Softclix Plus devices. The Plus is a cheap imitation and 1) not what I ordered and 2) not what was advertised.

I was getting tired of the issues with my old lancet device. I am so glad I purchased this unit. It works so much better. No more having to repeat the prick - works on the first try everytime.
