Tasty natural cat treats
This is a tale of two cats. One is a prissy housecat, somewhat spoiled, that is all about texture and can be finicky. The other is a junkyard farm cat that will eat anything and everything that moves. The prissy cat enjoys Purebite minnows. She'll graciously eat 3 or 4 of them and is satisfied. Junkyard farm cat goes absolutely nuts over these as if she's eating filet mignon after 3 days of starving. (She's spoiled and eats regularly, no worries. She's leaning on chunky.) What I love is that it is a very simple treat. Freeze-dried raw minnows. Yes, it smells like fish, as it should. It is all the goodness of raw food with little fuss. The minnows are delicate and will crumble easily, so they need to be handled with some care. The crumbles work nicely as cat food toppers. It may seem gross to handle them. It's not so bad. It kind of feels like delicate paper mache sculptures. For the price, it's an excellent treat overall. You get a lot of minnows in a one-ounce bag.

Not bad for the money.
I have tried other freeze dried minnows in the past, but I wanted to try these because the price is right and well, they are minnows. *shrugs* I have zero complaints. The smell is a ranky stanky fishy yuckfest, but my cats go nuts for these. I call out “Minnow minnow minnow!” And they come running and meowing. My black lab even likes these. She got jealous and stared a hole into my soul from around the corner, so I decided to toss her a couple and she wanted more. Well, the cats circled me like sharks in protest because I was feeding their big sister their fishy treats and I had to give them a few extra to make up for my transgression. They are broken up and kinda wonky, but they all end up in the same place, right? The litter box.

Fantastic for the fish motivated feline
These freeze dried minnows are the perfect post-pill reward for my big orange cat, who needs occasional rounds for his condition. He doesn't like taking his medicine, but he knows he gets a "smellyfish" (they definitely have a little bit of an odor - they're fish!) when he takes it without giving me a ton of fuss. So he takes his medicine, gets his smellyfish reward, and we're all happy with a healthy kitty. It will absolutely depend on the cat. My tuxie doesn't like these, as they're not little filled niblet treats that he enjoys. You won't know until you try it. Also, it doesn't seem like a lot in the bag for the price, but I promise it is. If I give one every day, my cat still has a couple months of minnows in the bag. Some are tiny, but others are huge. You could reasonably break some up into two or three pieces and still have a good sized treat out of it. Remember they're freeze dried, so the overall weight is far less than if you gave fresh, non-dehydrated minnows. This little bag packs a big punch. I also learned dogs like them too, and have shared the occasional sneaky snack when my friend visits with his puppers, who is a very sweet boy. Totally worth the cost, and every bit as good if you don't have a picky snacker.

Strong odor but kittens loved them
These were recommended to me by my cat's breeder. She said her cats went crazy for them, so I bought a bag. Well, my cats didn't like them at all. My red tabby turned his nose up at them immediately. When I offered them to my black cat two days later, I gave her these in one pile and her usual treats in another pile. She was interested in these at first. She sniffed them, took a tentative bite, shook her head, and spit it out. Then she saw the pile of her usual treats and immediately ignored these minnows in favor of those. Also, they STINK! They smell like fish food, only stronger. Be sure to hold your breath when opening the bag. ----------- Update: So it turns out some cats really do love these little fish! I didn't throw the bag away despite my two domestic shorthairs disliking it, but when I bought two Turkish Angora kittens, I decided to see what they thought. They LOVED them! I would give them a small pile of treats, and it got to the point that all I had to do was pick up the bag and they'd come running! The bag was gone quickly. I was also at a cat show and noticed a man giving these to his Oriental, who enthusiastically ate them up. Because of the awful smell and the fact my kittens like other treats also, I decided not to buy another bag of these, but it's great to know it's an option if I ever want to buy them something different once in awhile.

3/4 of my cats approve
I have 4 cats and 3 of them love this. my one cat is picky so don't worry about her. I bought a different brand of these fish and I noticed with this brand, it has a lot of flakes. it still has whole pieces but towards the bottom it's all just flakes. my cats love them anyway and sometimes I'll just sprinkle the flakes over their food and they go crazzyyyy over it. I get my hands almost bitten off as soon as I grab the bag. I'm not gonna mention anything about the smell cause it's fish.. what do you expect it to smell like. ANYWAY GET THESE YOUR CATS WILL LOVE YOU

These come crushed into powder and pieces:(
These would be way better if they didn’t come in clumps of minnows, minnow parts, and minnow powder! There are very few actual whole in tact minnows in the package which is pretty disappointing. I like to be able to reach into the packet and grab a few minnows to give my dog...with this brand of freeze dried minnows, most of the contents are crushed into powder or pieces of fish making it impossible to feed that way. Pouring it onto the floor just makes a huge mess on the carpet, causing my dog to sit there and lick the minnow powder, grinding it into the carpet and making a gross mess! (thank god we have a carpet cleaner!) My dog still enjoys eating them, and they still taste great to him...I just wish this brand would put a little more care into the product to ensure the packet mostly contained whole minnows rather than crushed minnow parts and powder. I kept the ones I already got, but am canceling the auto ship so we don’t get anymore going forward. The price I am sure is part of the issue, these are 75% cheaper than the brands selling them as whole fish minnows...

My cats LOVE these little freeze dried minnows! If you are a scent sensitive pet companion, be warned! This come with a KICK! But the kitto’s sure appreciate the crunch!! Well worth the cash spent on treats! Will be buying again!

My very particular cat actually loves these! It took him a bit to figure out how to eat them, though he showed interest straight away because of the smell. He previously lived in a household where he only got Temptations treats and I wanted to get him something with better ingredients and for variety. Thought these looked interesting and you can't really go wrong with PureBites. Once I realized he prefers them to be snapped in half first, he was all about them. I'm happy, he's happy, even the dog loves them haha. Will definitely purchase again!

This was my first time trying freeze dried whole minnows with my cats and they absolutely LOVED it! Yes they are fishy smelling (obviously lol) and Yes the fish at the bottom portion of the bag was a little crumbly (which is why I gave 4/5 ⭐️) but I will use those to top their meals. Overall I’m happy because they’re happy and will definitely buy this again!

What arrived was a bag of crushed fish. What wasn't crushed beyond use was tiny and broken. Its a great product, and my cat loves it, but I'll stick to buying it from a pet store. It was obvious its too delicate to be shipped, and was not shipped properly.
