For students, needs expensive software
This product is okay if you are a student at university, and have a matlab subscription ($150.00 for non-students). Other than that, go with HackRF One. It has great documentation, detailed lessons in how to use it by the inventor and is designed to work with GNURadio, which is open source and free.

Low cost teaching device, with steep learning curve for tools
Like: price, receiver sensitivity, flexible architecture, ADC resolution and speed, FPGA performance, AD-provided oscilloscope toolDislikes: extreme clunkiness of software and development environment, broken links on Wiki, USB2 bandwidth, noisy transmitter, choice of MathLab instead of LabView

It does it's job. There are more capable SDRs at good prices out there. I wouldn't get one of these again primarily because of the lower frequency limits.
