For years we had been sleeping on an old inner spring mattress with an inexpensive 4" foam topper. It was VERY SOFT, so much so that getting out of bed was sometimes an issue. Plus I often woke up with shoulder or neck pain. FYI, I'm a side sleeper. And lately, my sleeping's just been lousy. I expect Covid-related anxiety is party to blame. Regardless I decided I wanted a new mattress. I decided on a bed in a box. I got one for both of my kids over the years and they seemed happy. Plus, there are very well reviewed products out there for way less than traditional beds. Lastly, return policies often seemed too good to be true (see more on this below). After spend days reading hundreds of reviews and watching videos, I opted for a Tuft & Needle Mint. It cost about $1K. Easy ordering, arrived promptly, set up easily, and looked great. It was rated "firm." Well, my wife HATED it. Truth be told, she didn't give it a fair try. She kind of said she wouldn't like it before it arrived, said she didn't like it after night 1, and after night 2 said she was up all night with back pain. FWIW, this mattress should have relieved her back pain, not added to it, based on firmness and the fact that she's a back sleeper. Didn't matter. Her mind was made up. It had to go. So I called T&N on day three and they were FANTASTIC. Refunded my purchase price IMMEDIATELY and said I should give it to a local charity or, failing that, give it to a friend, family member, or neighbor in need. The return policy that I thought "too good to be true" turned out to be 100% true. Good on them! I gave it to a family in a neighboring town that lost all of their possessions to a house fire. I ordered the 2.0 via Amazon because it was the more "plush" of the options and because of the literally thousands of positive reviews. Oh, the fact that the price was less than half of the T&N didn't hurt. It arrived in about 8-9 days (my only complaint). Very large box that I once again had to navigate to the second floor. Popped it open and enjoyed watching the inflating process (again). After figuring out which side was front and back we placed it in place and let it "breath" for a couple of hours. With chemical smell to keep me off it, I put a cover and sheet on it and slept on it last night. It's definitely on the plush side. I wouldn't want it any softer. But I actually found it more comfy than the 2x more expensive mattress that preceded it. "They" say soft is good for side and stomach sleepers (which I am) and they appeared correct. I only had one night on it but I'm sure it'll be fine for me. My wife joins me on it tonight and we'll have to see her reaction. Should she not like it I'll just get her a 2" topper for her side to make it softer. You can't see the actual mattress so I can't comment on its looks or fit and finish. The cover isn't at taught as the T&N's cover and the materials not as rich feeling, but it doesn't feel cheap. As a bonus, it come with two "bonus" memory foam pillows and though it did smell a little when I woke up my head was on one of them and not one of my "old" pillows. I can't speak to its return policy and hope I don't have to. But I am comfortable saying (pun intended) that this is a nice, inexpensive option for someone who likes a softer mattress.

I’ve been really impressed with this Cool Gel 8” Short Queen Memory Foam Mattress. It arrived compressed in a box, and once opened it expanded quickly and was ready to use within a few hours. There was very little odor, which was a nice surprise compared to other memory foam mattresses I’ve tried. The medium-firm feel is just right. It has enough support to keep your back aligned but still provides that comfortable memory foam contouring. It relieves pressure really well around the shoulders and hips, making it comfortable whether you sleep on your back or side. One thing I really like is the cool gel layer. Memory foam mattresses can sometimes trap heat, but this one does a good job staying cooler throughout the night. The breathable cover also helps with airflow and feels soft to the touch. The short queen size fits perfectly in RVs or smaller spaces where a standard queen is too long, and the 8-inch profile still feels supportive without being overly bulky. Overall, this mattress offers excellent comfort, good support, and great value for the price. I love love love this cool gel mattress! It is absolutely amazing ! It’s firm but not to firm the support is top notch! When I lay down at night it’s just simply amazing ! You can’t go wrong with this very affordable mattress! It has kept me cool but yet cozy. It was easy to get out of box and setup . No odor. It did not take a full 24 hours for it to open completely ! This matress truly is amazing if I could give it a 20 star I would!

We love this mattress. It’s super comfortable. My fiancé have a really bad back from a rupture disc. And this mattress have helped him a lot. He’s not crawling out of bed in the morning anymore (I’m not exaggerating one bit. He used to roll off the bed and crawled to the bathroom every morning because he couldn’t stand up straight and the pain from his back shoots down to his legs.) and can actually put on his own socks. I used to have to wake up in the morning just to put on his socks for him because he couldn’t bend over. So it definitely helps with pain relief. Not going to lie and tell you, you’ll be pain free because if you have a bad back like my fiancé it’s for life. Nothing will take the pain away as you already know. But this mattress definitely helps with managing the pain and help you get some comfort. He now can get a good night sleep without tossing and turning or even waking up screaming in pain. I no longer disturb him getting out of bed in the middle of the night because i do it a lot. Our sleeping schedule is the tots opposite. The only and main issue is the heat, And that’s the only reason why it lost a star. All memory foam mattresses traps a lot of heat and even with the cool gel it still gets pretty hot. I even tried to change the sheets and not use microfiber, it helps but it still gets hot. We can lay in bed all day without feeling sore or getting uncomfortable. I used to be a side sleeper but this mattress is so comfortable I started to sleep on my back. I couldn’t do that with my old mattress because it would hurt my back/whole body. It’s really easy to set up as well. Pretty heavy so it’s definitely a 2 person job unless you are very strong. It only took about 5 hours to get to its full size. I did not have the patience to wait 24-72 hours like recommended so I measured it every hour and on the 5th hour the mattress was at 14inch. I took a nap on it (didn’t put any sheets or mattress protector on it because I was too lazy) right when it hit the 14inch and it was PERFECT!!! We didn’t have any issues with the smell at all. Only had a wiff of a chemically smell when we opened the plastic probably from being vacuumed sealed but it quickly went away within minutes. By the time we finished setting up (approximately 5 minutes) it was all gone. The bonus pillows that came with it puffed up within minutes after opening and it was also Super comfortable. No smell either and heads up it was vacuum sealed underneath the mattress. They are a match made in Heaven! Without having to spend an arm and leg to get a goodnight sleep this mattress is totally worth the money. If you’re like me, I’ve done a lot of researches and looked around for about a whole year before deciding. I’ve checked out different websites, different local mattresses stores, read countless reviews and then google some more, and finally found this to be the most reasonable price for a quality mattress. Hands down the best investment we’ve ever made! Definitely recommend for anyone Looking for a goodnight sleep without having to spend thousands of dollars. I would buy this again and again no questions asked.

I ordered the California King because my boyfriend is 6 foot 7 and got it last week. I was a little worried when I first unrolled it and didn't think It would be firm. After letting it sit for three days I am shocked at how firm it is. It is SOOO COMFERTABLE. I am hoping it lasts as my boyfriend is extremely tall and weighs appx 250 lbs. I will update in a few months.

03/18/18 update I just want to update now that we are going on almost a year of owning this bed. The mattress is even more comfortable now! I highly recommend this bed! Almost a year with no creeks or cracks when waking and my body is super aligned! I spent one week away, slept on a pillowtop and every bone was stiff! I cannot say enough good about this bed! Original review I LOVE MY BED! we had some issues ordering a different bed from amazon and ended up ordering this instead. I hadn't done any research on this brand or bed prior to it arriving, partially because I was really busy and because I had my heart set on the other one... I'm sooooo glad that we ended up getting this bed!!! when it arrived UPS had torn through the plastic so it was expanding in the box, I think that had a bit to do with the fact that the bed expanded to full size in 30 minutes. It was really heavy so i recommend having more then one person carry it (we got the Cal-King). Some of the reviews I was reading after we got the bed stated that: #1 it didn't expand to full size - This wasn't the case for us at all!! #2 there is a bad smell - I stuck my face right into the mattress to try and smell it.. there was a slight plastic smell.. but it wasn't noticeable unless my face was pressed into the mattress. #3 the bed is poorly manufactured - this isn't the case at all, our bed is beautiful and the fabric on the sides doesn't compress the foam on the sides.. we measure 12" on all 4 and there is no pulling of the cover anywhere.. if anything the cover is a little bit big for the foam! The cool gel works wonderful! this isn't a cooling gel so you wont lay on a cold bed in the summer time.. but when its 30+ outside at night and you go to sleep the bed doesn't get hotter!! I find the bed a bit firm.. I thought that would be a problem as I like to sleep on soft beds.. but the bed is perfect! We both wake up with no pressure or pain in our bodies. He has back problems and our old bed made them worse, this one he wakes up and is ready to go with no pain at all. I am also a light sleeper and he can get in and out of bed all night long with out waking me as the motion transfer is almost non existent. I love my classic brands mattress and in the future when we need a new bed we will be buying from these guys again!!!

I love this mattress. I bought it for my mom for when she stays with me. When I received it, I opened it on the floor and let it expand for 3 days, then I put it on top of the box spring. Like everything else memory foam, the dimensions are a *little* off and there's a bit of overhang on from the box spring, and a noticeable gap when fitted sheets are placed on it. I didn't think I'd like it at first, since when I first got it and went to lay on it, it felt like laying on the hardwood floor. But after just a second you start sinking in and all of a sudden you're in the comfiest bed you've laid in and you accidentally take an hour nap in it. It's about the price of a regular mattress, it performs better, and should last longer without having springs or wear and tear. Memory foam isn't for everyone so I would suggest trying one out first at a department store or something before actually buying one. I didn't have the luxury as I live in Fort McMurray, and mattress were on massive back order from the wildfire and my mom was coming up to "surprise" me so I didn't have time to look around. This mattress was a gamble that paid off.

It’s is nice and firm, I would imagine it will get somewhat softer as time goes on but it was just what we wanted for a firm memory foam bed. Another one we bought 3 months earlier is way too soft, it’s too bad I had to basically scrap it
