Xpand No Tie Elastic Shoe Laces for Adults & Kids - Easy Slip on Shoelaces

Great product. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. The fact that you can adjust the tightness once installed is a plus.

I bought these so I didn't have to re-tie my sneaker shoelaces, just like the product advertises. I had the shoelaces and the hardware for 9 months, and they outlasted my sneakers. However, there is a design shortcoming with this product. The laces you receive are generally too long for most shoes, so the instructions tell you to cut the laces to a comfortable length so you can attach the hardware. However, once you cut the laces, the ends will slowly fray over time. Frayed ends are extremely difficult to use in other shoes, because the lace openings are too small for the frayed ends to go through. You could probably fix this with some special glue applied immediately after you cut, but it's not ideal. I tried to use laces from a new shoe to see if they work with the hardware. If the lace is thin enough like the XPand ones, they will work with the hardware, except that you probably have to cut the ends, as most new laces have that stiff cylindrical ends, and they don't fit through the Xpand clasping hardware that is at the end of the laces. It's an good product in general, but it's hard to re-use on another shoe. The manufacturer needs to figure out how to make their laces not fray when cut, or make their clasping hardware compatible with new shoe lace cylindrical ends without cutting.

I have Cerebral Palsy and these have made life so much easier. They are easy to install, and their flexibility allow you to fit the shoe to each foot easily and comfortably. Their elasticity is fantastic, but always keep in mind the shoe itself is the biggest influence on how easy the it will go on after installation. If the shoe construction is rigid, these laces will not address the challenges of putting them shoes on. It will be easier, but not easy.

These are so great. Not only is it a time saver to not have to tie my shoes, but I almost always have pressure across the bridge of my foot and in my pinky toes when wearing laced shoes. These laces, while very secure, provide enough give on top of the foot to prevent strain. I was also able to do a heel locking lace pattern with them and that’s working beautifully even with the elastic! Took this pair of shoes from something I was unwillingly breaking in to a pair that I can’t stop wearing!! Planning on converting all of my laced shoes moving forward.

Not easy to use. . .instructions are limited and unclear. . .other options are better.

Takes a bit to get used to, but they are superior to usual laces. I use them on my mephisto walking shoes. Because they are elastic: 1) I can push into the shoes without adjusting the tension, though a shoe horn makes it easier. 2) I can just slip out of the shoes 3) Walking is more comfortable because of the laces flex as the foot expands or contract. They are never too tight or too lose once you discover the (non-critical) optimum tension range With such treatment they tend to loosen after many trips, but a few second easy readjustment fixes that. They never become untied like traditional laces and seem very durable, unlikely to break.

Working very well in my boots and seem to be durable (had them for many months). Plenty of length, even for close-laced boots, and the right stretchiness.

My shoelaces always come undone so I decided to look for a better solution and found these. I put them on my boots in the winter and they worked perfectly so I got a second pair for my hiking boots. I do think the installation instructions need to be a bit more clear but it's not too difficult. Once they are installed they are VERY easy to use and you never have to worry about them being untied. Highly recommended!
