Love this series

This little novella changed my point of view of Warner completely. This book gives you a very insightful as to how Warner thinks and what his motives are. I learned to understand Warner a little bit better to where my opinion of him changed a little. Warner has still done some inexcusable things, but after you read this book it is really hard to dislike him. I think Warner has some real feelings for Juliette that don’t relate to power, I honestly think that he loves her. I don’t like Warner’s father at all. I don’t blame Warner at all for going slightly nuts however it isn’t an excuse for the actions he committed. For a villain, Warner is very interesting and compelling, however when you read “Destroy Me” it can be a total game changer for some people. The original thoughts that I had about Warner were completely wrong. I thought he was a cynical insensitive jerk who was always power hungry. Oh, how I was completely wrong. Warner lives by his own code of honor which you didn’t get to see in “Shatter Me.” Warn is self-loathing and so broken, he is just a scared son that just wants his father to be proud of him. He is exactly what his terribly cruel father made him to be and Warner hates it. I don’t think Warner really wants to hurt Juliette, however he doesn’t understand what love is like either. I kind of wish this was a full size book because Mafi could have really given us a lot to think about when it comes to Warner. Oh my goodness gracious! Where do I start? I thought I was on Team Adam before but after “Fracture Me,” I am not sure what I want to happen. I was quite disappointed with Adam’s attitude regarding everything. I would have to say that the only time I even liked Adam was when he was caring for his little brother. I was just really disappointed about how Adam reacted to situations. Adam talked about how much he loved Juliette and all of the things that he would do for her, it was disappointing to read about his inner thoughts and how they didn’t match with the words that he would speak. With all of that being said, I still think that Mafi did a fantastic job in writing this novella. It was great to see inside Adam’s head and to find out a little bit about how he ticks. I think that the character development is great. I just have to rethink my opinions on who I think Juliette should be with. Definitely check out this series if you haven’t had the chance yet.

Broke this review down into two parts, one for Destroy Me and the other for Fracture Me plus a few final comments on bonus content. PART 1 of my review: So I'm going to read the Shatter Me books in order, novellas included. I only read Destroy Me in this Tahereh Mafi's Unite Me and all I can say is wow! I think I finally get why everyone was so over the moon with Warner! He didn't really impress me too much in Shatter Me, kind of skeeved me out. But getting inside his head in Destroy Me, totally changed my opinion of him. Warner's father is the new world leader while Warner only reigns over Sector 45 and when his father comes to help him out the "mess" he made, he's anything but happy. And yeah, his father? Not winning any father of the year awards anytime soon. It kind of makes sense for Warner's own character, but Warner still takes you by surprise. He uncovers Juliette's diary and begins to read it. Not only does he get a better understanding of Juliette, but we also learn more about him. We learn that he's been watching Juliette all along via camera in her prison cell. Still extremely creepy, but yet this is how he falls in love with her. He watches her try to keep her sanity while locked away from everyone and everything. Warner just completely took me by surprise. For we really do get to see another side to Warner. Perhaps his true self. He's not a monster like we were led to believe and we even learn about the solider he shot point blank in front of Juliette! Destroy Me is definitely a MUST read if you've read Shatter Me and felt hesitant about moving forward. I plan to read Unravel Me next, then I'll come back to this to read Fracture Me, which as you may already know, is Adam's thoughts after Unravel Me! Rating 5/5 stars PART 2 of my review Fracture Me is Tahereh Mafi's second novella and this time we get Adam's point of view during the tail end of Unravel Me and what happened after he and Juliette got separated. It was strange being in Adam's mind, it definitely gave me a new perspective of Juliette. Where I thought she was doing better and acting a little less spastic, Adam kind of sees her as not. Or possibly chalking up her recent behavior to nerves. He does still love her and care for her though, for at this point he's struggling to do better so that they can be together. In some ways, I find myself wondering if he really does care for her so deeply. He worries over her constantly, almost to the point where you wonder if he sees her as a child needing to be cared for, like James, and that's why he wants to keep her. After they get separated Kenji is all about going after her, she's one of their own after all, but Adam wants to go back for his brother. It even proves necessary as the enemy is moving in on the location of Omega Point, where James and many other of their friends who were unable to fight wait. Now here, I can understand Adam wanting to go for his brother first, he's family after all. But then once everyone gathers together, he wants everyone to come with him. He wants Kenji to come with him, instead of going after Juliette. It almost makes me wonder what does he really feel for her? He's so reluctant to go after her, he believes her safe with Warner since Warner has her--even though we know better. This was yet another fast paced read and a definite insight to the mind of Adam Kent. Definitely changed my perspective of him. Now as to the bonus content of Unite Me, I was a mite disappointed in it. Juliette's journal turned out to be pretty much all the excerpts we've read before. Which I kind of figured. But I was hoping that they might at least be in chronological order as to when she wrote them. When what is clearly the first entry is somewhere in the middle of all the excerpts. The only reason why I bought this paperback edition was because it was cheaper than buying two ebooks. Amazon had it on sale and I thought why not? Plus I was curious over the bonus content and hoping for something new, possibly. But I don't regret buying it. Still got to read the novellas! Rating 4/5 stars, as I was kind of upset with Adam by the end and some of his thought patterns towards Juliette. Overall Rating for Unite Me 4/5 stars

Book Review: Unite Me - Destroy Me Pg 75- Is it weird, am I the only one. I'm sure I'm not. But somehow, even thought I was curious through Shatter Me, I'm now certain. As I am finicky, I'm probably not devoted either. Very gullible to words on the pages and the emotions I read that I start to fall for a broken man who seemed so put together in the first book. No, it's not "I love you at "hello,"' but rather up to chapter fifteen I realized he's not so perfect, the soldier, this leader. Cold on the outside, super soft and guarded in the inside. His full past will unfold but so far he's got my hands at an arms length and I'm longingly looking at him with eyes of longing, sympathy, or just loathing. Who knows.. Julliette's journal is so depressing. Even though it's fiction, it's still a feeling, feelings, thoughts, that someone out there in this world is actually feeling this way. Abuse can be a game changer neither it breaks you or makes you stronger. But Julliette holds on to her humanity, she consistently searches for a friend, a companion, someone to acknowledge her, to laugh and cry, to whisper and dream. Her journal is untold emotions bottled up on pages and words leaving no empty corners to even leak ink. If there's a word to describe Warner, his hot and cold exterior? It's UNBREAKABLE! Although, his insides, his emotions and damaged mental conscious, it's INTENSE. The one thing that brought Juliette and Warner together is her journal that Warner stole. So much in common, it's like looking into the your very own soul and peeking out to see it's someone's else's entirely. If you say Warner is lucky to be brought up alive and given his position right now, I'm saying there's much to be read into his life. To digest it, absorb the enormassity of it and understand it inside out. He wasn't loved but broken, he was cherished but expected of. Poor guy. I've come to love a broken fiction guy. Is he the male lead now of Shatter Me? Unravel Me: My heart broke for Adam. So many ways not just one. I tried grieving with him and being there for him. And Kenji, he's tried his best and nothing bad can be said about that. He is the stone, the rock that keeps people around him steady. For Juliette she barely found herself and being new to fighting, it was hard for Adam as well. And James, poor James, he's what that's keeping Adam sane. And if anything were to be said about his braveness, it's that it's saved his life and Adam's. Juliette's journal: Most of the passages were read and made appearances throughout the series. I did grow bored of the repetition but because Tahereh Mafi's writing is so intense for me, I keep reading to the end pulling myself together to move one. Bc Juliette was broken and shoved and stomped all over. Her body broken, her mind damaged but she held on tight to her humanity and that saved her life and brought her closer to her heart and soul.

I recently started reading the Shatter Me series and I saw there were side-novels in between the series so I had to get this one. This one includes the novels Destroy Me and Fracture Me. I really enjoyed reading from the point of view of the other characters in the story in these novels. The book arrived in perfect condition.

Book came fast, good quality, no damage. Overall I also really enjoyed the book.

Destroy Me Commençons par la couverture avant le déballage de sentiments: Elle est splendide! Je suis une grande fan des couvertures de cette trilogie! Quand j'ai commencé Destroy Me, j'ai d'abord cru qu'il s'agissait du point de vue d'Adam. Quand j'ai réalisé qu'il s'agissait en réalité de Warner, je vous raconte même pas comme j'étais déçue. Mais la réalité est tout autre! Destroy Me est vraiment À LIRE!! Le point de vue que j'avais dans Ne me laisse pas a TOTALEMENT changé, j'ai l'impression que cette nouvelle est absolument INCONTOURNABLE pour approfondir le premier tome. Je n'ai pas détesté Warner dans le premier tome. Je ne l'appréciais pas, mais ne le détestais pas non plus. Dans cette nouvelle, on découvre ses secrets profonds, ses raisons, ses envies, et surtout ses vrais sentiments... La découverte de sa vraie personnalité m'a énormément surprise! Et... j'aime-bien-Warner. Voilà, c'est dit! Au fil du livre, on apprend à connaître le protagoniste, et il se dévoile au fur et à mesure. Ses sentiments pour Juliette sont bien évidemment abordés, et m'ont beaucoup touché. - Je me suis posé la question de qui de Warner ou d'Adam pouvait être le plus amoureux. Je n'ai pas la réponse. - On apprend également qui est le véritable méchant de l'histoire - son père of course. Warner nous dévoile un peu son passé, et ses relations qu'il a avec son père, qui influe sur sa réputation de chef impitoyable. Mais ne pouvant ni décevoir son père, ni se permettre de perdre Juliette - et croyez moi, perdre Juliette, ça craint pour sa santé mentale - il joue un rôle, porte un masque sur ce qu'il pense réellement du Rétablissement, et sur sa tendre personnalité. Warner n'est pas capable de tout, agit rarement sans raison acceptable, et pire que tout, n'a pas cette prétention qu'il avait dans le premier tome. Il est en fin de compte un méchant adorable. La relation Juliette - Warner risque d'avancer dans le second tome. L'écriture de Tahereh Mafi est, comme le premier tome, super jolie et très poétique, bien que différente, puisqu'il s'agit d'un point de vue différent. Fracture Me Cette nouvelle du point de vue d'Adam était pour moi une bonne chose, une façon de "survivre" au tome 3. Mais j'avoue que ce n'est pas ce qu'il s'est passé. Fracture me se déroule entre le tome 2 et le tome 3, mais je l'ai trouvé terriblement frustrant, au point d'avoir eu du mal à accrocher. Pourquoi frustrant? Je ne sais pas. Peut-être parce que je savais ce qu'il se passait dans le tome 3. Mon conseil est de lire cette nouvelle avant de lire le tome 3, si possible. Mais si vous avez déjà lu le tome final, je pense cependant que ce tome 2 explique certaines paroles et certains comportements d'Adam dans le tome 3, alors pour éclaircir le tout, c'est plutôt indispensable. Mais ça ne veut pas dire que cette nouvelle est mauvaise. On entre au creux de l'esprit d'Adam - amoureux de Juliette, mais surtout grand frère de James. Cette relation est très développée dans Fracture Me, et est magnifique. J'ai adoré la complicité entre ces deux frères, et notamment les sentiments très forts d'Adam à l'égard de son petit frère. Alors je termine cette saga non rassasiée, et je ne sais pas ce que je vais faire. Je pense que je vais aller me coucher. Et oublier. Terminer cette saga me fend le coeur. Pour finir Ce que j'ai le moins aimé : le fait d'avoir terminé la saga Ce que j'ai le plus aimé : le fait d'avoir un point de vue des deux hommes de la saga ! :) Et le journal de Juliette aussi!

Warner! Absolutely falling in love with him after this book 😍 His POV just makes me understand him on a deeper level and understand why he is the way he is. Incredibly written and cant wait to finish the series

I really liked the book and I came in good condition. Plus i enjoyed reading Aaron Warners point of view.
