Early Alerts Prevent Water Damage
We installed the Ring Alarm Flood & Freeze Sensor in our basement, and it has proven to be an invaluable addition to our Ring system. Setup was extremely easy, just a few minutes, no tools or professional installation neededโso expanding our existing system was effortless. Hereโs why I strongly recommend it: 1. Real-Time Water Detection in Basement: Basements are always vulnerable to leaks or minor flooding. This sensor immediately alerts our phones the moment water is detected, even from small drips. For example, during heavy rain, it notified us before any water reached our storage area. This early warning helped us prevent damage to boxes, furniture, and equipment that would have been costly to replace. 2. Freeze Protection: In colder months, the basement can get quite chilly. The sensor monitors temperatures below 40ยฐF (4.4ยฐC) and sends alerts right away. It allowed us to take quick action to protect exposed pipes, giving us confidence that freezing wonโt cause burst pipes or water damage. 3. Long Battery Life and Low Maintenance: Batteries are rated up to 3 years and are easily replaceable. Once installed, we havenโt needed to check it constantly, which is convenient for a basement location where frequent visits arenโt ideal. 4. Seamless Integration with Ring System: Paired with our Ring Alarm and cameras, the sensor gives complete awareness of our home. We can view alerts instantly, check camera recordings if needed, and manage the sensor directly through the Ring app. Placing this sensor in the basement has given us real peace of mind. Knowing that any water intrusion or freezing risk will immediately notify us has removed a lot of stress. For any Ring user, especially in areas like basements that are prone to leaks or cold, this sensor is a highly practical and reliable addition.

Impressive
We purchased the flood and freeze sensor to put by washing machine, especially since a rental we had in past had a faulty hose, caused entire home to be flooded. Decided to give this a try in our home and I like to wipe down my washer every now and then but a little dirt had gotten on inside of washer lid lip, say that 3 times fast haha. I had used the the little plastic cup for liquid soap to rinse it down while washer was filling. Well, learned something valuable, don't do that.. It can go outside of drum area and go down to floor! There was maybe at most a quarter cup worth of water on the floor and the sensor detected it, sounded an alarm in home and called my phone to make sure I knew there was water detected!! We were hoping this would be a good product and it definitely impressed us! So much so that we purchased another one for our garage for the hot water heater. Recently that started leaking and caused several items in garage to be soaked but luckily we caught it pretty quickly, no damage. Wish we would've had this device before that happened though. If you are wondering if it's worth it, I assure you, it is!! Eventually, I think we will be putting them under every sink as well. It's small enough to be hidden, approximately the size of a hockey puck and quick set up and if you feel the need to mess with the settings like my husband does ๐ ๐, you can even disable the freeze setting if you live in a climate that doesn't really freeze. Worth every penny!!!

Easy Installation and Peace of Mind
I recently installed the Ring Flood Alarm Sensor in my home and I couldn't be happier with the results. The installation process was incredibly easy and straightforward, taking me just a few minutes to have it up and running. All I had to do was place the sensor in the desired location, connect it to my Ring Alarm system, and I was good to go. The sensor provides me with a sense of peace of mind knowing that my home is protected from potential flooding. The moment water is detected, I receive an immediate alert on my phone, allowing me to take action quickly and prevent any further damage. This has been incredibly helpful during heavy rainstorms or when I'm away from home for an extended period of time. I also appreciate the reliability of the Ring Flood Alarm Sensor. It has never failed to detect water when present, and the battery life has been exceptional. The sensor is also durable and well-made, so I have confidence that it will continue to work efficiently for years to come.

Good sensor with some flaws
First I'll start by saying they work, and they work well. I've tested them several times and notifications are quick and accurate. From that standpoint, they're great. Now on to what I consider a flaw of these sensors. You can't create any routines in the Alexa app using these sensors. They simply don't show up to create the routine. There are blogs are there and forums where this has been requested as an add, but some go back as far as 2 years, so I'd say it's unlikely they add the feature. You'd think with them both being Amazon's product this would be a given, but it's not. So if you actually want to use these sensors to create a routine, say make an announcement on all your alexa devices when water is detected, you can't do it. Or, if you want to control a smart water valve to shut off your water main when a leak is detected, you can't do it. These are simply just monitors and that's it. So if thats what you're looking for, they'll do just fine. If you want some control using them, I'd say look elsewhere, at least for now.

Paid for itself by preventing serious damage
I've only had it alarm once, but it did immediately alert me to an issue with our ejector pump. I turned out to not be a huge amount of water, but I was able to address it before it became an expensive problem. The flood alarm has already paid for itself. No problem connecting it to my ring system. It is small, sturdy, and easy to place where needed.

Expensive peace of mind
I feel good know I have these all around the house in areas that could potentially flood especially when traveling away from home. I wish they werenโt so expensive but I did pick them up when on sale. When it go on sale I will pick up a couple more onclidimg for my water heater.

Just saved us from having a major flood in our house!!
We purchased this for our second home in Florida so that we would be alerted if there was a water leak in the house. We have one located in each bathroom, under the kitchen sink, and the laundry room. I thought my husband was being a little over paranoid, but boy was he right. We are actually here in Florida now luckily because last night at 12 am my husband heard the "Water Detected" alarm going off from our Ring Alarm. He jumped out of bed and ran to the laundry room first, nothing there. Then off to the second bathroom to find water coming out from under the wall next to the sink. He was able to quickly turn off the main water shut off outside and stop the water. At this point it only took 3 towels to mop up the water. Since my husband is handy, the next morning he opened up the wall behind the sink to find out that a water connection had completely failed and water was shooting out into the wall cavity. The sensor had luckily went off right away so we were able to shut the water off almost immediately. If we had not had this we would not have known about the leak until the morning and our whole house would have been flooded as this bathroom was on the other side of our house. My husband was able to fix the failed connection (I told you he was handy!) and problem was solved in half a day, with very little expense on our part. I cannot recommend this product enough. Thank god we were here and not back in Seattle, but if we were we would still have been able to contact our house watch services and they could have come out and shut the water off and minimize the damages. Such a small investment saved us possibly thousands of dollars. We do not have flood insurance here in Florida due to the extremely high cost, so any damages would have been on us.

Great Investment
I picked up one of these water sensors to pair with my Ring alarm system and placed it under the kitchen sink. About a week later, I started receiving repeated notifications from it. At first, I assumed it was a false alarm ..... but when I checked, I found an actual plumbing leak. Thanks to this sensor, I was able to catch the issue early and avoid what could have turned into a costly repair. I was so impressed, I ordered two more for other areas in the house. Setup was simple, integration with Ring was seamless, and the alerts came through exactly as expected. These sensors provide an extra layer of protection and peace of mind, especially in places like under sinks, behind toilets, or near appliances. Highly recommend adding these to your Ring system if you want early warning against potential water damage. Itโs a small investment that can save you a lot in the long run.

Great sensor! Definitely recommend!
Very easy to set up and connect to your existing system. First alert happened in the middle of the night when our septic system backed up due to septic pump failure and we didnโt know there was an issue with the pump. Itโs a great little device and I definitely recommend it.

Was skeptical about this unit, but it's a great peace of mind to add to your existing system
Added this to our system of Ring ecosystem, just as nobody really inspects that furnace room as much as we should - so having this peace of mind addon was a no brainer as pricing wasn't too farfetched. This flood/freeze Ring Alarm Sensor, is very easy to add to your Ring Security System via the app. I simply placed it on the floor of my utility devices in the furnace room. So if a leak develops, or the heat fails long enough to cause freezing, I'll get an alert on my phone. Not 100% if it's effective, but I also don't want to find out either.... BUT consider this cheap insurance against massive water damage at a fraction of the costs that it may induce. Setup was ease.
