It's not too heavy if you don't use a lot of it at once. It is a hair grease and not a pomade. I just oil my scalp with it and it's fine. If you just put it on your hair like a gel it will make it heavy and flat and greasy looking. It honestly makes my hair grow,but you have to be careful how much you apply if you have light hair cause it is a green color.
