Mine is refurbished. Had some issues but Yamaha repaired it under warranty.

How many cd's does it hold

It is a single-CD player. I believe it was a strategic choice on Yamaha's part to build the most stable CD tray possible, and a multi-CD tray would have compromised that. I echo Richard's sentiment that it is an excellent player.

Unfixable Problems -- Inadequate Support

Excellent sound. But the CD transport mechanism failed and Yamaha has no replacement part. A very very expensive paperweight.
