Great sound, great value
I love this amp. I front it with few OD pedals but the sound without them is really nice just coming straight out of the amp. You’re not getting any warm tones with this one, it’s all crunchy grindy scooped tones. Chugs decently without an overdrive. It’s pretty easy to over-scoop your tone with this, the mid scoop button will scoop the mids out of an already scooped natural sound. Extremely good for the price. YOU WILL NEED A NOISE GATE if you are trying to be loud with this thing. Gets very loud with a 4x12. Super super fun amp. Love the feel of solid state vs. tube.

Poor quality control...
Amazon is amazing...took two days to be Delivered on a Sunday in just two days! Now the amp...First of all when I removed the amp from sealed packaging I could hear something bouncing around inside the inside of the amp...It turns out it was one of the small black screws that holds the main PCB to the metal chassy....I fixed this myself and it’s ok now...I noticed when I turn the amp on it takes about around 20 seconds for it to throw sound...It doesn’t go right on when it’s turned on...This is concerning. The four button footswitch is well made being made out of steal and not plastic...When it’s plugged into the back of the amp the selector channel button on the front of the amp no longer works...All three channels worked in my footswitch however the fourth buttons that is supposedly there to turn the effect loop on/off doesn’t work at all...The light works but the function isn’t working and the effects loop stays on all the time... The reverb in this amp is an actual mini spring tank reverb and really small and really weak...I wish Randall installed a bigger spring tank and mounted inside the top or front of the wood case...The reverb doesn’t work at all when I used a noise gate through the effects loop which is needed with this head... The background noise is apparently loud and prevalent in all three channels and a decent noise gate does wonders for eliminating noise the trade off is the reverb disappears completely... Somehow the effects loop effects the reverb and this is odd because i use a noise gate in another amp that has built in reverb and that one still produced reverberation tails after noise gate closes...It’s also not a real spring rather it’s digital and the Randall is not a digital reverb however the reverb is just plain awful and should have been a digital reverb....Would sound better. The Watts is rated 150 however it’s not tube so it just lacks that push tubes get...Still loud but not over loud.. I am on the fence about keeping it and I was disappointed with loose PCB screw floating around inside the head...As well as very disappointed that the effects loop can’t be turned off from the footswitch even though it’s supposed to be able to hence the amber light that lights up but does nothing else... These amps are manufactured in China and supposedly inspected in the USA before sold...Mine wasn’t inspected by a good quality control by someone from Randall in the USA. On the fence about keeping it...I won’t bother asking for a replacement because it’s probabl going to be similar issues or something totally different wrong with it... I wouldn’t recommend buying it unless it comes down in price...$399. For this amp with the problems isn’t worth it...

Perfect for my needs!
So far so good, just recieved the RG1503H along with a RG412 cabinet. Sounds great and build quality seems to be good. Head came with a footswitch that plugs into the back of the amp. Two gain channels one clean vary practical layout. As long as the rig holds up over time i would say this is a really solid investment, good bang for the buck!

Great value and tone
This is the only solid state in my amp collection and it hangs right in there with tone. More than enough power for any gig and head room for days when playing clean.

Didn't work straight out of the bix
Amazon shipped really quickly! That's the only plus for this purchase. Looked nice right out of the box. Once hooked up? Not so nice. There was an annoying hum I couldn't get rid of no matter what I tried(other than cutting it off). The LED channel lights didn't work, and, for that matter, it wouldn't switch between channels. There was also something rattling around inside that I didn't want to try to trace down. Returned for a refund. I'm sure it wasn't an Amazon problem. More likely a shipping/production thing. I'm holding out for a better amp.

which I absolutely love..
One of the reasons I bought this amp is because I have several old Gary Sunda ,Don Randall designed 1980's models RG80's...which I absolutely love...I was looking for a 3 channel version of that amp...I read all the review watched a lot of Youtube videos...and decided that this amp was for me....I am so glad Randall Amplifiers upgraded the old design and added another distortion channel...The clean channel for me needed to be similar to the older RG80 with spring reverb. This amps spring reverb is not exactly the same but very close....And the RG1503h can deliver some awesome distortions....no need for overdrive pedals...I just added a little delay for effect and this amp sings...The only down fall I had at first was a stupid radio station playing through the amp...My bands practice place had lots of power lines and maybe the house had not so good wiring...I did fix it with a hum x plug and better rfi rejection guitar cables....awesome amp I love it....buy one....thank you Randall creating a terrific amplifier.

Shipping arrived in two days, expected four, so that was great. I don’t own a cab yet so I played through headphones for about a week until I got to a space with a pal drummer to turn it up out loud. I love it. It’s not a Marshall and I like that! I always coveted Marshall amps as my go to sound and they were the best. But since trying this amp I probably won’t go back. It has a lot of character and its flexible with has a good range of tone. It’s heavy as heck though! I’m fairly fit and can carry it but if you don’t have one good arm I don’t know what you’ll do as it weighs a bit. Best amp! Thx

After a long wait it finally arrived. Played with it once for an hr. The following day it didn’t turn on anymore. Being solid state this is very bad. Now I have to pay to ship It back for a refund as there are none in stock for a replacement. I should have listened to the other reviews with same issue. This is my wife’s account. It wasn’t easy to get the green light for this purchase. Not getting another Randall

I use this amp as the centre of my “Dimebag” sound, in conjunction with a rack mount stereo 15 band EQ (channel 1 driving the preamp and channel 2 in the effects loop) and a good noise gate. Unbelievably awesome!

I bought this amp recently and was stoked when my cab finally came in to give it a shred. I played about an hour, shut it off for the night as it was getting late. Next day I go to turn it on and nothing.. I unplugged it, tried a different socket in my house and it still had no juice. A friend suggested checking out the fuse, and it turns out it was blown. It came with an extra one in the fuse box so I put that one in, played an hour and shut her down for the night. Next day, fuse blown again. Now this amp's serial # suggests it was made in 2012 which is nearly 10 years ago now, and online people seem to suggest the shelf life of a fuse is about 10 years give or take. I just ordered a pack of the fuses this head takes (F5AL250v 20mm x 5mm) and I hope that this will solve the issue. Overall the amp sounds badass, I just hope that the issue resolves itself with a less dated fuse. I will edit this review with my findings Edit: New fuses did the trick, order some if you're buying this head.

At just over $400 you can't go wrong getting this head. The dirty channel sounds great. You will want to get a noise gate though as it does put out quite a bit of hiss on the Hi gain channel. Add a compressor and a tube screamer and this thing will give you an uncanny Pantera sound.
