I don’t have a lot of experience with pvc just needed to cap off a 4” underground water drain pipe I am rerouting and was ordering some things anyway on Amazon so I threw these in. Since ordering them I have been to the hardware store for other stuff and realized these are insanely expensive for pvc end caps. However, they are also insanely heavy duty. I’ve never seen pvc this thick. Apparently series 447 was an indication of wall thickness and not an Air France reference as I had originally suspected. Whatever the case, if you’re capping a 4” pvc pipe that needs to withstand the frozen emptiness of outer space or the next asteroid induced mass extinction event these are your end caps.

secure fit
I am a novice at pipe or pvc fittings so when I measured the OD of the ABS pipe I needed to cover that's when it started. How to buy the right size of cover to fit? Looking at sch 40 sizings they were not the same as the size it says they are. So after a long learning curve I finally bought the right size and it fits just like it suppose to.
