I needed the right side bushing for my recently purchased F150 (tailgate bushing was completely gone). You will read of the difficulty of installing the right side bushing (funny looking bushing with prongs), and that is correct. It can be made to work, however, and it did solve my problem. First, hats off to Ford for how cleverly engineered the tailgate is. You can easily remove it and put it back on, which facilitates replacing the bushing as well. Given how Ford engineered the tailgate removal process, replacing the bushing is fairly quick to do. You will need a neighbor or friend to hold the tailgate while you put the bushing on. The issue with this product is that the prongs on the right side bushing are intended to hold the bushing in place. The thing is, they are molded slightly too wide to put them into the retainer slot on the tailgate (at least on my truck). We did not try to squeeze them into the slot, because the part would have broken (there is at least one review here that mentions that). The solution is to cut just the horizontal part off of one of those prongs. The other will then fit into the holding slot and give you at least a bit of hold on the bushing while you insert the other tab. You will need to be careful not to lose the bushing if you remove and replace the tailgate a lot. I gave the rating I did because the components are not OEM fit and quality, but they sufficed for my purposes.

Does no fit 1998 Dodge Ram 1500. Too large diameter. Unfortunately, waited too long to discover this.

The package says "Fits Ford / Dodge". If you look at online videos, one shows a kit similar to this being used on a 2nd gen Dodge Ram. It is used by inserting the two cups supplied and placing the rectangular caps on the corresponding pins on the bed. It can be unequivocably said that the cups in this kit DO NOT fit in the corresponding cups on the tail gate of a 2nd gen Dodge Ram - they are simply too large in diameter. The rectangular cap will not even fit in the corresponding groove of the slotted cup in the kit while on the workbench. Since in the videos all 4 of these pieces are used, it's not at all clear how this particular kit is intended to be used. The only way this will work on your 2nd gen Ram ('94 through '01) is to place the rectangular caps on the tailgate pins and install the tailgate. The plastic caps ride in the metal of the cups on the tailgate. That may not be ideal, but since my hinge inserts were literally gone, it took out about 85% to 90% of the play, so that's at least far better than what I had. However, since the thin plastic is riding against metal, it's doubtful they will last very long. I shot some silicone lube in the hinge to hep it last a bit longer. It may be that the two cups will fit on Ford models, I do not know. Since the rectangular cap will not fit in the groove of the slotted cup, it could be possible that the rectangular caps are intended for Dodge and the cups for Ford and the user discards the ones not not needed, but there are no instructions to that effect on the package. If you're desperate to improve your sloppy Dodge hinges, these should get you by - for a while. BTW, for these trucks OEM kits are NLA from Dodge, so something like this is your only choice. I'm thinking of getting some Delrin and using a lathe to machine some custom sized ones based off this design. Delrin would last the life of the truck.

Great price, great fit, great product, great functionality, totally improved sturdiness, the alignment is like from the factory, no more rattles and easy to install on my 1990 Ford F250. I'd buy again but im pretty sure I won't have to.

Hard plastic. The oem felt more like a soft rubber that was more durable. Broke a "fin" while installing. Not very pliable. Only needed the one piecee. The rest is for a Dodge ram supposedly. Pretty much a waste for the price.
