This was purchased because all of my art pencils were piling up with my erasers and other supplies on my side table, and I just couldn't stand it anymore. I saw this set of drawers, and thought, "Aha! I have found my solution!" And I HAD. This fits right on top of my side table, holds all my pencils, my sharpeners, tortillons, erasers of every kind, and is just finished beautifully, especially for an item of this price. The top 2 drawers have compartments from front to back that are sized just right, and the bottom drawer has no compartments which is perfect for holding my erasers, my chamois and any other incidentals that don't go into the compartment drawers. I'm also a woodworker, so I know about good finish work. Frankly, for what I paid for this item, didn't expect anything great, however, the workmanship is better than expected and the construction is just fine. Once in awhile, the drawers do get stuck when trying to slide them in and out, but experience has taught me that rubbing a bit of non-scented soap (the scent might dry out the wood) onto the drawer sides will take care of that problem quickly. I just love this little cabinet which isn't just for pastels, but for all types of art supplies. It's great for yourself, and would make a terrific gift for someone special as well.

These drawers are MUCH higher quality than the price lead me to believe. All the pieces are solid and fit together well, even when pulling a drawer almost all the way out there is very little droop. The top two drawers will fit most paint brushes and hobby knifes and similarly sized tools, while the third drawer is slightly taller allowing for storage of bigger items, in my case hobby nippers, micro drill bit cases and glass files in protective containers. The pictures are deceptive as there is alot more room than I expected, I expected my brushes to take up a majority of one drawer but it's large enough I was able to separate my detail brushes into thier own slot, and when some detail brushes are 30+ dollars a piece, that's really nice. I've only experienced one con and that is the drawers are a bit to tight and you have to wiggle them in and out alot but I think that's more to due with the material overall than this product. A super quick workaround I figured out is taking some vinyl sticker sheet and line the contact points. I had some already from my cricut but you can get it at the dollar store nowadays.

It's OK. Drawer action is not smooth. Holds a lot of pencils and the bottom drawer is nice for supplies.

This is my second one, nothing fancy but a good value and it serves well to conveniently house my various colored, and graphite pencils in the upper 2 lower profile dewars and bigger things in the 1 inch high lower drawer. I only wish there was a unit with all the higher drawers so I could put the bigger things in drawers together. No foam came with my drawers as advertised. You must pull the drawers out gently so you don't pull the whole unit out of position. Stacking the two units on top of each other the bottom and top legs sit on top of each other with no means to lock them together. That provides space between the two units to store my my sweeps and rulers.

I grossly underestimated how few items this would actually hold (or, should I say, how many pens/markers I have!) so, while it doesn't hold my whole supply, it holds the loose ones and all my marker sets that came in cases I just lay them on top of this. There's a front and rear "lip" on the top, it would be nice if it were on all 4 sides so the top could sort of be a little extra surface storage. I still use it as such and may add my own to the sides eventually. Like some others have said, the drawers are kind of...not good. They slide out fine (bringing the other 2 with it, no matter which you're trying to open) but get stuck and slightly crooked when trying to close them, making the faces of each drawer hit each other, rendering a smooth closure impossible. I bought this during a remodel so I don't have my craft room back together yet, but I'm going to try rubbing some beeswax or soap on the grooves and hopefully they'll slide better, but this wood is unfinished/porous so it may just absorb into the wood. I may end up staining and finishing this with what I have around the house and see if that improves the performance. I also don't love that the partitions are not removable which wastes small amounts of space in each section, which could fit at least 2 or 3 more fat markers or, at the very least, not limit you to how you use the space. The drawers are deep, so I'm able to push standard-length pens all the way to the back then lay other pens horizontally in front (bottom drawer only - no partition), utilizing the space as best I can. Wouldn't recommend.

I purchased these drawers to hold my graphite, charcoal and pastel pencils in addition to erasers and other miscellaneous supplies. They are just the right size, with the bottom drawer having no dividers, so a triangle, small sharpeners and even an electric eraser fit inside. They have a light finish on the outside and a couple of rails on the top so you can stack another set or if you put stuff there it won't roll off (at least the front or back). The drawers on the one I received worked smoothly and didn't open any extra drawers, despite what other reviewers have noted. I bought the small (3 drawer) model, but it is easy to expand by buying another one to stack on top if I need more drawers.

I love these boxes. I purchased these again for my art studio. I use these for my drawing tools. Pens, pencils...I store some reference photos...etc. The first boxes I purchased, I use to store my pastel pencils. I really love these in the studio. I placed a skid resistant mat under the bottom box to ensure that it doesn't move on my table. I find the boxes are well-built and sturdy enough. Hope this is helpful to you.
