Great Buy!!
This item is exactly what I was looking for. I didn't expect to find what I wanted housed in a blue ghost, buy hey it's cute enough. I owned two other systems to listen to my MP3 around the house and outside on the patio while swimming. Both of those were just okay. When it was time to replace the last one, I purchased one from another site. Wow, was it chincy! I returned it, and very rarely return anything. I paid more for it than this little Boo system. I like it very much. My iPod fits nicely. The sound is better than expected, and it comes with a neat little remote. I really like that the volume can be controlled by touching the ghosts' right and left forehead area. Cool! I'm VERY satisfied.

Sincerely Disappointed
After a bad first experience trying to get this product over Amazon, my second sample arrived today, and it works perfectly. I have to admit, my heart sank a little bit when I saw that the box the product came in was not in good shape, but the product inside seemed to be in brand-new condition.Sounds fine and looks very cute. I bought this for my baby's room. One word of warning. My first sample of this product was defective. The product wasn't new; it looked like it had been returned since it wasn't packaged correctly. Some of the parts were missing, and one of the audio cables was broken, with wires sticking out of the casing. Despite all this, I tried out the unit just to see if it would work, and it didn't.It was sold by a seller called Hot Deals 4 U and fulfilled by Amazon. After I returned that sample to Amazon, I got a phone call from the manufacturer of the product, a company called Speakal, which is not Amazon and as far as I can tell isn't "Hot Deals 4 U." I was very put off that either Amazon or the seller disclosed my personal information. In no universe is that acceptable. So all in all, I'm happy with the final result, it was just way more of a pain than I'd bargained for.UPDATE, 3/26/12: I'm taking my rating down to one star. We didn't use this speaker for the first three months we had it because it was in our baby's room and the baby slept in our room as a newborn. Once he started sleeping in his own room, we tried to use the iBoo and it doesn't work. At all. I reread all the instructions, made sure everything was connected properly, and nothing. Our iPod plays, but no sound comes out of this speaker. Now starts the dreaded process of trying to return this to Amazon AGAIN. When I returned the first one I bought and saw that the second one they sent me looked like it had been returned already, I had a bad feeling. Turns out I was right.UPDATE #2 3/26/12: According to Amazon, I've missed this "window" to return this product. When we bought it, it was $80. For the same amount, we could have bought our son four 125-count boxes of diapers. At least diapers serve a purpose before you throw them in the trash.I've used Amazon for years and have never, ever felt screwed like I do now. Their products have always been in brand-new, perfect condition, and their customer service has always been great. I wish I could say that I'll never use Amazon again, but I will, although they don't deserve one more cent of my hard-earned money.

Not good for young kids
I was looking for a good iPod mini player for my 2.5 year old, after reading reviews of many products decided to go with this one. Lasted less than an hour before I packed it up for return. 2 main problems: One, the touch controls are fairly insensitive, you need to apply constant pressure for just the right amount of time to get them to work. Too short, won't work, too long, won't work. Second, the volume controls on the side are placed such that you have to consciously avoid them while using other controls. That was not something my kid could figure out, so he was constantly either cranking the volume or turning it down too low when trying to use the other controls.Sounded OK and the controls might not be bad for older kids, but definitely not what I was looking for.

It's super cute, but doesn't have Bluetooth
It's super cute, but doesn't have Bluetooth. I know it doesn't say anywhere it does, but I think it'd make it perfect. Sound is good.

Its small desk footprint and iPod charging are major selling points for me. While I have heard better sounding products on the market they were all much more expensive...2-3 times the price in most cases. The sound is clear and while the small bass speaker isn't a "thumper" it does provide some depth to the music. For an office space where you have to keep the volume down or a child's room this is fantastic. My wife uses it for her classroom and it provides plenty of volume for listening to music while doing paperwork after school hours. It won't fill a room with earth shattering sound, but it will provide good sound quality at a respectable volume for any small room or office setting. The small remote that is included makes it easy to locate it out of the way for more desk space or to keep it out of the reach of a child. I would definitely purchase this again and will be gifting them to people in the near future. The touch sensitive controls may help someone with a motor control disability. They are sensitive enough that simply gliding your finger across them will activate. The are located on what would be the forehead and face above the eyes (speakers).

The iboo met all expectations!
As far as desktop size ipod speakers/charger's go this was the best sounding that I've heard. But don't expect this to replace your your home surround sound system though, It's far to small to pull that off. Also, No battery compartment. This unit needs to be plugged in to work. The sound quality is good and the bass isn't lost like on most other desktop speakers thanks to the built in 9 watt sub. I can confirm that it works fine with both an 8GB ipod 3rd Gen. nano and a full size 120GB ipod as these are the only ipods we own. My whole family loves the iboo and it has become a conversation piece when ever company comes over. The bottom light's up blue and looks cool in the dark. We keep it in the game room by our Ms. Pacman/Galaga standup arcade machine as it fits right in with the Ms. Pacman decor. Note there have been complaints about the ipig with newer ipod models. If worried read all reviews before purchasing iboo.
