Thai Panang curry paste (1kg by Mae Ploy)

Taste good taste like cook from Thai ka ( if u use Thai coconut milk for sure ) And very big package worth it but it will expired in 2 months after I purchased?!

Back in day our favorite Thai place told us this is what they used. Our first batch wasn't to shabby and very close to restaurant taste. Very happy with this as we always want Thai on Mondays and none around us are open. Perfect compromise

Disappointed. Expected it to have more lemongrass and keffir lime flavor. Smells good, but doesn't quite taste the way it smells. Needs lots more lemongrass! To get enough lemongrass flavor, I have to put a ton of this in, and then the chili and salt become overwhelming. I'll use it up, adding my own lemongrass and keffir lime leaves, but will try another brand next time. Nicely packaged. I'm keeping it inside the plastic bag, inside the container, in the freezer.

If you love curry this brand is outstanding. I always buy the largest container because it lasts easily the entire year in my refrigerator. I use the Panang & Red curry flavors. I noticed some reviews mentioned the inside packaging. I never found it to be difficult to open or close. When I first get it, loosen up the contents then I take my kitchen shears & cut off the top. I reseal the container by folding over the opening then use a thick rubber band all around the plastic container, top to bottom so it’s sealed tight. It’s never dried out on me. To prep the paste, I just take a couple of tablespoons of oil in my pan & sauté on medium heat with 3 to 4 level tablespoons of paste, for spicy hot curry, than break it down nice & smooth. Use 2 tablespoons if you’re worried about the heat. After it’s smoothed out I add (this is important) one can of unsweetened Coconut Cream and not unsweetened Coconut Milk. Coconut milk has very little authentic flavor but Coconut Cream will give you that depth of flavor you’re missing in curry dishes. I learn this decades ago from my Thai & Indian Chef friends. Add your usual ingredients & additions next with these added tips & enjoy! Thanks to this excellent & reliable seller. All my curry recipes turn out Thai restaurant quality. Flavor is good, purchased before no problem. The most recent item expires in 3 months. That is a LOT of curry to eat by then and quite unreasonable for the size and high price paid. Last time the product had a year shelf life, must have been a different seller. DISAPPOINTED.

This ingredient is key in making delicious Panang curry dishes!! The flavor and seasoning is rich and more spicy the more you use. A little goes a long way, use a few tablespoons per use!! Product of Thailand.

Very nice curry paste.. I did however make the mistake of not measuring properly as using a bit much paste the same as I did with the red curry if the same brand. If you've not really used these curry tastes before then I'd definitely say less can sometimes be more. If you want to enjoy the flavours and the coconut milk/veg/meat flavours then go on the lighter side of maybe 2 level tablespoons per can of coconut milk or if you want to be brave and get a kick from the chilli then I done 2 overly heaped tablespoons for one can if coconut milk the first time. It's very nice but also very easy to get carried away. Once you get the right amount for your tastes then this is a very nice curry paste. I will be trying the green curry and probably the tom yum next. Quick, easy and very enjoyable.

Too salty, unbearable, have to throw it. Not good for your health. Don't buy.

Excellent Panang curry paste which gives real depth of flavour and spice to a Thai curry. Much better in taste and value for money than the usual jars purchased in a supermarket. I paid £8.02 for the 1kg tub on 05.09.25.
