I learned some valuable tools in this book that I see have really given me a leg up in life and I simply imprinted them and they became part of my mindset. These were skills that I noticed everyone around me seemed to be without. I simply didn't experience the fears or stumbling blocks that I noticed were haunting Others. It wasn't until I re-read this that I truly realized why. From a personal standpoint It's a great book for an impressionable young mind and can help kids to soar into adulthood with some great tools for thriving in their lives. But it's never too late to read this book! It can help people at any age learn some new and easier ways to see their environment and start experiencing their lives as the fun ride it really is. Enjoy! Review: Excellent! - Both "Awaken the Giant Within" and this book are a must-read for anyone that wants to learn to have more control over their emotional states. "Unlimited Power" is mostly about NLP, which are techniques to re-program your nervous system so you can feel differently about anything you want, and to get yourself into or out of whatever state you want. There are techniques in this book, for example, that can help you feel differently about a person you really dislike or that you are intimidated by. There are also techniques for changing how you feel about a past negative event. For a clear understanding of why we do what we do, and exercises for figuring out what your values in life are, so that you can make sure that what you do will meet those values (which is the only way to truly be happy), I recommend his other book, "Awaken the Giant Within." That book will help you find conflicts in your values which may be the cause of some of your indecisions and in some cases, self-sabotage.

Not as self helpy as you might think
I was initially skeptical of this book when I downloaded it. I generally don't like self help and think it to be mostly fluff when it needs to be substance. I was wrong. Sure, there are stories in here you can skim over when you are tired and still get the gist of the book. But much of the value of this book and the good self help out there is to put into words and reinforce things you already kind of knew, but needed to have said to you. NLP seems kitschy at first but has some usefulness. Modeling seems intuitive but so few people do it. Knowing you actually need to act is something many people say they understand, but very few actually carry out. I picked up this book during a particularly tumultuous month in my life and am glad I did so. It was one of the little reminders I needed that some people have life happen to them and some people happen to life. I would recommend picking this book up.

This is the real deal
I first approached Tony Robbins' work as a skeptic, expecting (fearing) to find a shallow huckster pitching empty promises dressed up as hope. Having read his two books and done extensive background reading on the subjects he addresses, I am convinced. His methods are completely sound and backed up by extensive, mainstream academic research and clinical practice. This is no tired and discredited NLP rehash. He has achieved a remarkable synthesis of disciplines to produce a system that works if applied with vigor. A note about style. Tony is a booster who writes as he speaks, in simple terms and with great enthusiasm to engage the broadest possible audience. Candidly, I had a hard time at first, because I am biased towards more 'serious', academic style language and naturally respect heavy footnoting. My suggestion is simply to keep an open mind.

Wow. I'm blown away.
I've never been affected by a book quite like this before. But a lot of these reviews are overly wordy, so I'm just going to get right to it. The basic premise of this book is that you actually have way more control over your mind than you think you do. The author gives you many simple (and sometimes silly seeming) techniques that allow you to take control of--among other things--your memories, thoughts, opinions, emotions, and beliefs. I've tried many of these techniques personally, and they've worked amazingly well. Using them I've removed old emotional baggage, destroyed long-entrenched beliefs that were holding me back, and learned to change my thinking so it serves me. As a result, the world now seems different to me...more like a story I'm coauthoring rather than just what is happening to me. Fantastic book.

A systematic approach to becoming the person you want to be
Tony's books are always very long and very thorough, and this one is no exception. His approach is based on NLP, and for a self-help book it is very technical. The technology is intended to provide tools that allow you to program your brain to become the person you want to be. He does a good job of providing step-by-step processes for achieving the results he promises. Keep in mind that in order to achieve the results you will need to do the excerises that are outlined in the book, which are not at easy and require significant brain power to work through.

One of the top 10 books I have read in my life
Learned so many useful skills. The first part of the book about NLP I found really easy to understand but really complicated to apply successfully, but once I managed to make it work it has been amazing: it condition myself successfully out of stress, and also out of eating some unhealthy foods The second part about life planning was insane: Made me sit down and get a really solid life plan. In 2 months I lost over 15 pounds, have been consistent in the gym, eating healthy, made new social circles and meaningful relationships, and a lot of things to come in the next 10 yeears

The 'Unlimited Power' by Anthony Robbins is just about that: UNLIMITED POWER. This is the road map to get where you want to go in your life. Even though it was written in 1986, it is as powerful and true as if it was written in 2019!
